When the dentist came in, the exam lasted only about a minute before we were sent home. It felt very rushed, and there was little effort to explain anything or address our concerns. I was also disappointed by the lack of empathy toward my baby. They expected him to lie down on the dental chair by himself, which is unrealistic for a young child. I expected a pediatric dental office to be more patient, gentle, and understanding with babies. The front desk staff was also unprofessional. Instead of helping verify my insurance, they repeatedly insisted the information I provided was wrong and spoke to me in a rude, raised tone. I felt like they were unwilling to help resolve the issue. Overall, the experience lacked compassion, professionalism, and quality care. I would not recommend this office to families with young children or any age.

I never cancelled last minute & always wanted to reschedule in hopes of being able to be seen. Completely rude. Just a reminder that the person who's answering the phone is making an impression on future patients. Especially ones like me who were coming to you out of network. Disappointing experience.

They do an amazing job of making kids feel comfortable, no matter their age. My oldest even gets orthodontic care here, which has been so convenient, and everything has gone smoothly. They also accept a wide range of insurance, which makes things much less stressful as a parent. What truly stands out to us is how wonderful they are with my youngest, who is on the spectrum. The staff is understanding, calm, and accommodating, they always take the time to meet him where he's at. That level of care means more to us than we can say. We have tried other children's dentists in the area and nothing compares to the care in this office. We're so grateful to have found a dental office we trust for all of our children. Instead of treating my wife with dignity and understanding her rights as a person with a disability accompanied by a service animal, the situation was handled in a way that made her feel singled out, embarrassed, and unwelcome. What made the experience even worse was the way the doctor communicated with us. We felt the conversation was manipulative and dismissive, and when we tried to explain our concerns and my wife's ADA rights, we felt like the situation was being twisted around rather than addressed professionally. A medical office should understand the basic rules surrounding service animals and the ADA. People with disabilities should not have to argue for basic respect and equal access simply because someone has an issue with the breed of their trained service dog. We left feeling disrespected and extremely disappointed. I strongly encourage this office and its staff to educate themselves on service-animal laws and how to appropriately treat patients with disabilities. No patient should be made to feel this way while seeking medical care.

Dr. Shelby had us come to her office for a quick consultation prior to starting services. Parents with children on the spectrum, (particularly on the higher needs end) know how anxiety inducing these appointments can be. I was a giant ball of unhopeful nerves. Praying my son would not be judged, or become too difficult to be helped. A staff member came in to assist/keep an eye on him for the duration of the consultation. My son jumping into this woman's arms at one point, and yet she showed no irritation, and reassured me as I apologized repeatedly. Maybe it was written on my face, maybe she is a part time mind reader, but Dr. Shelby sat me down in that office, looked me in the eye and assured me everything was okay, and my child would not be judged there. Embarrassingly enough, I broke down in tears. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I was actually seen. Although my child did not tolerate the check up well, as I expected, the Dr. was still able to get X-rays, and did so as efficiently as possible! I was simply a mother, who hadn't had a job in over a year, asking for a small accommodation so I wouldn't have to miss work or pull my child out of school. Instead of compassion, the front desk clerk refused to even let me speak to the dentist -- someone we had trusted for years. I was so upset by how dismissive they were that I ended up in tears. One simple request turned into being completely disregarded, and it feels like something was said behind the scenes that wasn't true, because we were ignored and immediately dropped. When I respectfully mentioned I would leave an honest review about my experience, I received a letter dropping my daughter from care. They claimed it's their "policy" not to schedule young children later in the day, yet refused to show me any proof -- no signed document, no written policy, nothing. They also falsely claimed multiple attempts to contact me, but there was only one voicemail left. I returned the call and never received any follow-up. Six years of loyalty, perfect attendance, and a strong relationship thrown away over one basic scheduling request. This office does not prioritize patient relationships, communication, or professionalism. They will not advocate for you -- they will simply cut ties. If you want to be treated with basic respect and compassion, this is not the place for your family.

My first visit was to check out the office and I got to meet Dr. Huang. once I met him all my fears about a new dentist was put to rest. He was incredibly competant and his number one concern is the comfort and safety of the children. You can see the passion that Dr. Huang and his staff have for children. My daughter was beaming after her appointment with Dr. Huang and his assistant. His dentist assistant was THE best dental assistant we have ever had. She was so warm, comforting and happy with my daughter, you could see that she LOVED children and working with them was her calling. Then Dr. Huang came in and was also very friendly with my daughter and made her feel very comfortable. Dr. Huong definately knows his denstistry. My daughter got to watch a movie (ask to turn up the volume if you cant hear it), while she got her teeth cleened and then she got to pick out a prize and got a balloon and new toothbrush and toothpaste, floss etc. She was beaming and skipping out of the parking lot.
