Last week, I visited Jack's for Super Bowl Sunday and I was very happy with my experience! Given how busy the venue was for the Super Bowl Sunday, the staff were still attentive and gave great suggestions for drinks and food. The quality of the food was good given how busy the event was!

I was not happy about the Caesar drink, it taste like blah, so water down, not spicy, no alcohol taste or even a tomato taste. Of course no kick. The patios have heaters, staff are friendly.

Came here after the grand opening and had a great time! Ordered the steak and fries, and it was much tastier than I've thought. The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. The tacos and baked potato was also very tasty. Would def get this again! P.S get the hot sauce, it makes the food flavourful!

The ambience and happy hour were great. Drinks were top notch. First time trying poutine, was tasty but not my thing. Server was friendly and engaging.

We've always come to it's sister restaurant, Scaddabush, adjacent to Jack Astor which was a change for us. It has been awhile since we had frequented this restaurant and to our surprise it offered similar dining choices as a Milestone or Moxie's. Also noted was that there was no more if the rowdy bday greeting that had once before and it was more traditional song as most restaurants. $$-$$$

Met with family here for dinner (6 of us). Our server was pulled in what appeared to be a few directions from the manager but overall she was great. Food was fine .. I've never been a real fan but it's consistent "OK" food. I ordered the curry bowl from the plant based menu and .. aside from the waiter handing the plate to me HOT (2 fingertips are slightly burned it seems the following day) the food was "fine". Others ordered the pad Thai, pasta, sauces chicken fingers, bruschetta, and desserts. Atmosphere was great ... loud, but great. So if you're looking for average food and OK prices with great service and a decent vibe .. this could your place!

Recently renovated and reopened last Friday. They have a promotion for their reopening of $25 off a minimum spend of $55 on food and non-alcoholic beverages for dine in only. We ordered their tiny tuna tacos, which were, in fact, tiny and came in wonton shells. They were good, but a little heavy on the sauce. We also ordered their holy smoke bbq burger and fish tacos. The burger was on the greasier side, but the pickles on the side helped. I wish there were more than two slices of pickles. Their fish tacos were good but come in flour tortillas. I like to spice mine up with their hot sauce. The loaded baked potato was huge and delicious. Also tried their spicy grapefruit margarita, which was a miss for me, didn't know where the spicy was. The service was friendly, but the kitchen was a little slow. The weird part is they don't seem to have a machine to come to your table to punch in their gift card, and my server walked off with my phone, which made me feel uneasy.

Tips: - Portion sizes are huge…read more - This eatery specializes in barbeque chicken. A few Sundays ago, I visited The Avenue Restaurant and Lounge for the first time with friends. The food, drinks, and conversation were wonderful and much needed! There's lots of seating. Many come here for special events, such as birthdays. There was a family at the back o the restaurant having a bash. There's also a side room that offers more privacy for such occasionings. The bar was pretty. The bartender was nice and funny. We felt like drinks and got the following: - Rum punch - Hibiscus paloma The rum punch had a generous amount of rum, with cubed fruit that felt like a bonus while enjoying this beverage. The pineapple wedge was awesome as a fruit lover. The hibiscus paloma was excellent. It's new on the menu and so refreshing on a hot summer day. Frankly, it went down too easily! The food was stellar! We ordered a bunch of dishes and shared them family-style. We consumed these dishes: - Chilli chicken poutine - Pepper shrimp - Chicken wings - Extra special fried rice - Sweet and sour chicken - Volcano chicken This eatery specializes in Caribbean Chinese food eats. It is also famous for its barbeque chicken. This place does chicken right. Everything was delicious. If I were to select a couple of favourites, they would be the chilli chicken poutine and pepper shrimp. This place does fusions and spicy heat extremely well. The chilli chicken poutine was awesome. It combined my love for chilli chicken that is tender, flavourful, with some heat, with crispy fries and cheese curds. So good! The pepper shrimp were amazing. The shrimp were fresh. I loved the light batter that was crispy and crunchy. I love chicken wings. They were meaty and crispy. I tried a couple of sauces. The dragon sauce had a good amount of spice. I don't know what the other sauce was, but it didn't have a kick. It was mild and yummy. The extra special fried rice was awesome. I loved the fried rice. It had the right balance of veggies, chicken and rice. There was a lot of it! It was then topped with more chicken. The skin was crispy and yummy. The chicken was plump and moist. I took some home because we had a lot of leftover food and this dish was so comforting. The sweet and sour chicken had the right tangy-sweet mix. It wasn't overly sweet. I loved the veggies .This place does chicken so well. The morsels of chicken were yummy all coated in the sauce. The volcano chicken was excellent. It's crispy, tender chicken coated in a spicy sauce that packed a lot of good flavour. I got to witness one of the chefs out on the grill, barbequing chicken. I brought home a barbeque chicken meal over fried rice, that came with mac and cheese, and potato salad. This meal was divine. The chicken was flavourful and tender. The meat effortlessly fell off the bone. The fried rice was perfect. I loved the potato salad that had peas in it. The mac and cheese cube had good flavour and al dente macaroni. The portions are massive. Leaving hungry can't be done! I had a fabulous time. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks with good company. (316)

Turns…read moreout, it was jammy-oke, which, for those unfamiliar, is like karaoke but with a live band. Cool concept if you're into that, but it's definitely a different vibe than choosing a track from a catalog and singing along. From what I gathered, the band was friendly and offered an alternative when they didn't know the song my mom wanted to sing, but she opted out and left shortly after. No big deal. The place looked decent from the outside, kind of like the kind of pub you'd slip into for a pint and some low-key tunes. Later, I mentioned the experience during a karaoke chat somewhere else, and people who had been to Queen Victoria Pub spoke well of the jammy-oke setup. So, while it wasn't the right fit for my mom that night, others seem to enjoy it. Probably worth checking out if you're open to a more live-jam kind of karaoke scene.

So on a Friday night I suddenly fancied some Fish & Chips. But I am rather fussy about my fish. I…read moredo prefer halibut over haddock or cod. But as many know halibut is a premium fish. But I found this pub had halibut on the menu so I ordered two dinners plus a side (1 lbs) of wings. The food arrived hot and the fish was very good. The portion size was decent and the fries were still edible. I often find when ordered for home delivery fries seldom make the trip. I kind of wished more restaurants/ pubs vented their boxes so the fries did not get too soggy. I did find my order came with a generous portion of tartar sauce but they served white vinegar not malt. A bit of a faux pas here. I did find the wings a bit under done. I guess I prefer a bit of a crisp so I popped those in my air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 ° F. After that they made a tasty side.
