Beware of Allstate Appliance. Terrible waste of money for no repair of a stove. We paid them $255 for literally nothing except aggravation and a waste of our time. They put in a defective burner replacement in our expensive Jenn-Air stove. Or they installed it incorrectly, who knows? When we discovered it, the pandemic had started. They said we could wait to have them return till after the pandemic. When we called a few months ago, they changed their tune and wanted to charge us to come out and repair the defective burner they had installed, or installed incorrectly. Much haggling later, the service guy comes out and says--guess what?--he can't fix it. Says he'll order the part and promptly disappears, for a second time. That was three months ago. Various attempts to contact them w/ no return phone calls on their part. They are complete crooks. read more

We bought a Brand new Microwave in December 2017. Stopped working on April 10. I called the manufacturer and they organized with Allstate appliance to fix it. Repair man came out on 4/11. Diagnosed as a bad motherboard. Said he'll order the part and come back in a week To fix it. Annoying but ok. Fast forward 9 days. I called for an update. Woman on the phone was rude and short with me. She was quite condescending explaining to me why the parts weren't in stock. I called back on 4/26 for another update. Amazingly, they had "just gotten the delivery" and could come our next day to fix it. They can come between 8-12. I asked for a courtesy call 10 minutes out to put the dog away and my wife could get the baby situated. No call. Anyhow, repair man shows up. Takes everything out of my cabinet, takes down the microwave to fix it. Guess what? He forgot the fuse he needed. He was going to grab it the next morning and come back to fix it. He wanted to leave the microwave on my kitchen island, disassembled, and just leave. We said absolutely not, he rolled his eyes and reinstalled the (still quite broken) microwave. I said see you tomorrow. This was 4/27/18. Fast forward to yesterday (5/16/18). I call the company and spoke to Ms. pleasant on the phone. She puts me on hold and when she picks back up, she told me that they're waiting on the motherboard. I explained that was already changed out and we just needed the fuse. She sighs and then she puts me on hold again. She comes back and said that they had to special order the fuse, but guess what???? The fuse had arrived THIS MORNING. Hallelujah. The tech was scheduled to come out tomorrow and fix it between 8-12. I asked for a courtesy call. He just showed up. No call. It would have been worth it to me to buy a new microwave and never worked with this company. It's been 6+ weeks. This whole process and warranty claim was free. I was sold a washer from. LOWES that does not have a serial no. Allstate agreed to bill me directly since lowes will not replace it.. I am. awaiting their quote, I told them that whatever it cost I want them to fix it since my five year warranty with Lowes is void I certainly trust Paul who works for Allstate to fix the washer. Be aware... terrible service!!! My senior parents have an issue with their refrigerator which started this March. Worst possible timing when they should have the ability to stock up on food during the Coronavirus crisis. They contacted Allstate Appliance Service for the repair and it is nearly a month later and Allstate Appliance Service has not repaired their refrigerator properly. So many things to mention... not returning phone calls in a timely manner, needing several attempts to fix the problem without any resolve, refusing to fully refund my parents for payments made for service and parts, doing the whole "he said/he said" thing (blaming my father, not their repairman) when refusing to accept responsibility for this horrendous service. Bottom-line... the refrigerator is still not fixed, they will not provide full refund... Shameful. read more

Awful experience.. Tech came out to look at our washer that was making a humming noise, and diagnosed it was the motor. $78 charge just to come out. I was given a quote of $201 which seemed reasonable. Tech came out the following week and while working on the washer said the part that comes with the motor was not the right part and he left saying no extra charges, would be back within 2 days. We received no call, and I had to call twice the next day to find out when he was coming back. Once I got a hold of customer service the woman said it would be an extra $80 for this other part. When I tried to explain that the tech said no extra charge, she abruptly canceled the service all together. After this experience it became clear to stay away from this business. read more

Allstate has been fixing the icemaker on my refrigerator since November. It is now March. The receptionist sounds mildly annoyed and sick of hearing from me whenever I call. She suggested I call back when the tech is available so I can speak with him directly. The technician keeps telling me it "should work fine," and that the error message on the digital display "doesn't mean anything." I should probably just call a different repair place but that would mean shelling out even more money for someone else to start from scratch. read more

This company is terrible. Three weeks ago, a technician came to assess my refrigerator and my washing machine. He said he would have the parts ordered that were required for repairs. I didn't hear from them for another week and then I called. They got my order mixed up with someone else on my road. I had to wait another week for the parts to come in. A technician finally came to repair the appliances. When I arrived home that day I noticed that the refrigerator was working but my washing machine had not been fixed. The receipt he left for the bill stated that he fixed both appliances and checked both appliances before leaving. This was total BS. They charged my landlord $290 for these BS repairs and I had to throw out everything I had in my refrigerator. You will regret hiring these people, do not call! read more

Have used in the past, and needed to use again today. While the woman who answers the phone can come across as pretty curt(I'm ecstatic not to get an answering machine or having to jump through hoops in an automated system), I am about the results of getting problem fixed when I have tenants who bring up issues. Will leave it at this, have spent about $700 on 5 service calls in last 3 years. Saved me $$$$'s if I had to go out and replace. Today the tech showed up, worked on gas stove with an oven issue. I cant say enough good things about this business. My refrigerator needed a condensor fan so I Googled "appliance repair RI" I called the first number I saw (NOT Allstate). They came over and charged me $59 to tell me what I already knew and THEN wanted to charge me $300 for a fan I KNEW didn't cost any more than $125. Already 60 bucks deep in this mess, I reluctantly agreed to have them make the repair. After waiting almost a week (they told me 2 days) for this elusive condensor fan, I called AllState. I wasnt getting the warm fuzzies from this other place, so I wanted to ask if I was getting ripped off. Sure enough, I was right. Not only did Allstate have the part within an hour, the entire job was done before lunch THAT DAY.... for $100 cheaper than the King Midas condensor fan that was surely making its way to RI from the other side of the globe. read more

Scheduled service for Maytag natural gas dryer repair. Dryer will not ignite and heat to dry clothes. I replaced with M Series New Style Coil Kit and was unsuccessful. So I made the Maytag service call. Scheduled for 12:00 to 4:00 and this morning I was told between 12:00 - 2:00. All good so far. At 1:30 I received a call from the office that the technician was not going to do the repair as my driveway was too long and his tool bag was too heavy. That is odd since I don't have a long driveway. Yes, the pavement was new and soft. I said I will go out and speak with him and there was no technician. Called her back, she spoke with the technician and he refused to come back. Odd he never even knocked on the door or rang the bell or made an attempt to speak with me. I offered to her I can carry his tool bag or parts if he wants. Never saw anybody carry heavy tools or parts for my dryer repairs before. Usually just a 1/4 inch nut driver and a light. I requested to speak with the manager / owner. They said he would call the next day between 8:00 - 8:30 since he also is a service technician. I took off work for this appointment. Frustrating considering the family has already waited a few days. They have done work for me before. This must be a technician who doesn't want to work. Based on the ratings either being a 5 star or a one star seems like depends on who you get. Probably why the manager / owner is doing service work himself - maybe overwhelmed business with no good help. Maytag Service was very receptive, apologized, and filed a customer service complaint against their record. read more

My worst experience ever. This is by far the worst repair experience I have ever had. A repair man by the name of Paul can to my house to fix a microwave. He said that he would order all the parts and it would take 3-5 days to come in and I would be hearing from them. 6 days later I called them and was told that they were waiting to hear from me when the microwave was pulled out to come back and order the parts. This was a blatant lie. The girl on the phone would not let me speak to the repair man nor a manager and she said a manager would call me back. 3 days later no call. Will never go back here again. We have used them many times, on time and honest. the repairs are always done well. Once they told us item was not worth repairing due to age and cost versus replacement, we appreciate the honesty, Sometimes they have to order parts, we stay in touch and the repair is made, good local company providing a service. read more

We have had a longstanding issue with the pump of our dishwasher. Allstate was contracted by Whirlpool and they were absolutely fantastic. The secretaries who helped set up our service call as well as track when various parts of and related to the pump were efficient, kind, and explained as much as they could about what to expect moving forward. When the glorious day came when we had all of the parts for the pump, Paul came by and swiftly and judiciously got our dishwasher up and running again. He was extraordinarily thorough, kind, and informative. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Allstate is excellent! read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Sent from Maytag for an appliance under warranty. Receptionist extremely rude. They keep saying they will call you back, but they never do. I have been waiting over a montth for a part,. I called Maytag after six weeks, they said Allstate never ordered the part! Save time, if you have an appliance under warranty, tell company you do not want Allstate,they will send out another repair service. I'm very disappointed I contacted Allstate on Friday they came out immediately due to a cancellation. I was told by technician the part would take 3-5 days to come in . 5 days later I called to check on the part to be put on hold for 5 minutes and was told a technician would call me back. Now here I am a week without a dryer, now I'm being told the parts are on back order for 3 months I'm going to have to find someone els to repair my dryer. Had I Been called a week ago this wouldn't be a problem. Now I have to wait another week without a dryer. The lack of communication is terrible with this company .They just dropped the ball on me after having me wait a week for nothing !! Not very professional!! I just had a new company come look at my dryer and the tech from Allstate never took the dryer apart he just assumed he was working on an electric dryer told me I need a coil for a gas dryer. When I told the new tech Allstate said I needed a coil he told me electric dryers do not have coils. So the part that was on back order for 3 months was lie and this company should be ashamed of themselves. The Allstate tech only looked at the back of my dryer and the new tech said you can't see anything from the back so he was confused as to how he diagnosed my dryer from the back !! I think you should call G&R Appliance if u need a repair for your dryer. read more

If I could give them no stars I would prefer it. They are the service company for Lowes Service Advantage. They closed out my service claim while it was on going and therefore rendered my Service Advantage out of date. They dropped the ball, are inefficient and they lied to Lowes to cover their mistake. I wish I read the reviews on here BEFORE I called this company - similar issues... rude receptionist who put me on hold 30-60 minutes then promised a call back, which never happened. She would say she was waiting to hear from me before ordering a part. This went on for months, when I finally called another company who advised me that Maytag doesn't make the part anymore and hasn't in over a year. Honesty doesn't exist... Had them out to look at my fridge and dryer in November - they fixed the dryer fine (hence the one star) but when it cam to fixing the fridge - the tech just opened the fridge, did a quick look around and said that it is the "board' that controls the defrost cycle. So he called it in and they ordered the part - but the part didn't come in until JANUARY! Ii had to call them continuously to get an update - they did not return calls or call back as promised and copped an attitude when I mentioned it to them. SO finally, the part came in and they came back (another service call charge) and installed the part - the entire thing cost over $300!!!! and the fridge never worked right even after replacing the board. I tried to get in touch with them several times, then I had to go on a three month reserve mission. When I got back in May the fridge was really acting up and I had to defrost it about every other week if things were to keep cold. I called them again and now they want to charge me ANOTHER service call fee to come back out. So I called a different repair company (B@y Appliance) and they came out today. Unlike the Allstate tech, their tech actually took the cover off the guts in the back of the freezer and right there was the broken part - the Defrost terminator switch. In less than an hour the fridge was fixed and back running - THE ALLSTATE TECH NEVER CHECKED THIS PART. DO NOT USE ALLSTATE!!! THEY REPLACE PARTS THAT DON'T NEED REPLACING AND HAVE LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

TERRIBLE!! Stay Away. HUGE waste of your time and money. Don't even deserve 1 star. We have been in the property management business for 10 years and manage over 200 homes in RI. This is by far the worst company ever. They are beyond unprofessional. The owner Mike, to say the least, is the most obnoxious and condescending person we have ever met. The manufacturer sent them for warranty work for a refrigerator. Mike showed up, did not announce himself, blew right by us, walked right in to our home and looked in the refrigerator, touched a bottle and said "this is plenty cold". he ignored anything we had to say as to what happened. He became even more agitated when questioned about what he was doing (not doing),then announced it was electrical, he was going to call tech and walked out of the house without so much as a good bye. We didn't even get an invoice. He was there for approximately 10-15 minutes. That was 5 days ago, haven't heard from then since, they disappeared. they are annoyed when you call. that same day we told the manufacturer what happened and have hired another company. We would spend $3000 on a new fridge before we would ever let them back on any of our properties for any appliance. and i'm sure the one 5 star review they got 2 years ago is a plant by someone they know.Our mouths are still haning open. read more
