This may be the best company to buy insurance from because they always remind you when a payment is due. However I believe this is the worst insurance company to get a claim from, I can't image anyone who is not better then this. A pipe in my bathroom broke, I called and started a claim. I was told that someone would call me within 24 hours. 48 hours later, I called them. I was told that someone would call me in 24 hours. 24 hours later, I called them only to find out that Allstate had misfiled the report , giving it to the wrong department. The next day, someone call to tell me that would be out in 3 days. So a week after the pipe broke, the adjuster came out and told me that I would have the money for the claim in my account that day. 2 days later, I was told that they couldn't do it the way they wanted to but it will be in my account the very next day. After 2 days, I called them and they said that they needed to wait another 72 hours to cancel the check they made out to bank of America (which is not my bank ) before they could issue me a check mailed directly to me. It's has been 11 days since the pipe broke and I still can't take a shower. So now I need to wait until I get a check, and it clears my bank before I can hire a contractor to start so I can use my bathroom. read more

Stay away from this agent and Allstate. I wanted to cancel my policy. I sent him both an email and a fax. I had to go through the corporate offices to get my money back. I won't use him or Allstate ever again, if you do you deserve what you get. read more

Called and left a message to inquire about an insurance policy for a multi unit building in the northwest corner. No return call after 48 hours. Had sent an email a few months ago and also no response. No issues if the coverage isn't there, but just return the call - there may be future business. We have Allstate on property and or autos in Mass and Maine and are very pleased with the coverage and the Allstate Agencies we deal with. Ziegenbalg does not fall into that category. We are very pleased with the service received from Allstate's Torrington, CT office. One of their agents, Yaniry Alvarez, found us a great home insurance policy, enabling us to save over $500 per year. When additional information was required by the insurer to complete the application process, Yaniry Alvarez handled all the details by calling the insurance company and sending the photos of our propane heater. She later called the insurance company again, to finalize the application. Additionally, Yaniry responded to numerous text messages right away, and we did not have to call the office to get a response. Very dedicated and professional, concerned about our financial situation (spouse unemployed, little baby in the house), Two thumbs up. read more

As a student and having my parents as a cosigner for the student loans, I figured it would be a good idea to get life insurance just in case something we're to happen. This is one of the most unprofessional auto agencies I have ever used. First off I was told my policy would be $168 per month for myself and girlfriend. First bill came and it was $178, whatever, no big deal. My girlfriend was pulled over one day for a tail light and the cop noticed the VIN didn't match her insurance card. (I took a picture of the VIN off of her car and sent it to Lindsay the all state agent when I first began the policy so there was no reason for it to be wrong except for the agent to enter the VIN in wrong. I was then charged $28 dollars to "update" the policy to the correct VIN. Again no fault of my own but I was penalized $28 dollars because the agent wasn't competent enough to enter a VIN number correctly. NOW to my major problem. I set up automatic payments after I paid my December bill by calling the office. A few weeks went by and I logged on to my online account to see "policy terminated." I called the office and asked why and they said because of non payment. The women I talked to on the phone said they sent me a certified letter but never once did I sign for anything in the mail nor receive anything from All State. And they also told me they called me numerous times but they were calling an old number WHEN they had my current number because I changed it with them and talked to Lindsay multiple times on my new line. Best of all, they canceled it all the way back to December 31st and it didn't come to my attention until about January 23-24 so now I have over a 14 day lapse in auto insurance and will have to pay the DMV $200 for each car insured which was 2 so $400. When I called and tried to explain my case I was told "absolutely not" in a very rude manner. We had two months left on our policy at the time this agency canceled it. Now every insurance agency I talk to says my premiums are going to be significantly higher because of the lapse in coverage. STAY AWAY. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. VERY RUDE. Shawn H. read more

I am really disappointed in this agency. We had been with the previous owners for over 25 years and always got great service from Tom Krohner. In the last 10 years I have seen that individual attention diminish.The owner hides behind customer service reps who are inexperienced and unable to help.Often its "the corporate office does not let us " and "nothing we can do to help". If you want fair, personal service go elsewhere. read more
