    I was a loyal State Farm customer for 7 years with zero complaints or claims. That ended this…read moremonth. My auto policy for (2) cars was renewed in September, and I was told my bill would be around $243. Imagine my surprise when $381.13 was pulled from my account on 9/24 through autopay. Biggest scam ever. Lesson learned, I will never trust that again. When I reached out, Miguel, an agent I've dealt with before, admitted he couldn't even explain where the extra $138 came from. I called 3 days in a row for answers, promised call backs that never happened. Every call to the office was initiated by ME and not them. On the final day, after being transferred through corporate, I spoke with Zach. Instead of helping, he told me to calm down, laughed at me, and kept repeating my name in a dismissive tone. Completely unprofessional and insulting. No surprise, Zach was no help at all. I went back to corporate and filed an official complaint. So let me get this straight: you allow your agents to laugh at loyal customers, ignore them, and fail to explain where $138 came from? Absolutely unacceptable. And by the way, save yourself the stress and don't trust the Drive Safe & Save device. That was pushed on me last year by none other than Zach, and it's just another scam. When I spoke to the woman from corporate, she didn't even see it on my bill. It's supposed to save you money but in my experience it increased the bill. She also mentioned that "I" supposedly made policy changes to a 2008 vehicle that I wasn't even driving but only kept insured to do the work. Why would I ever make changes to that? As of now, I've canceled all of my auto policies. Check out literally any other company and you will save money and avoid this kind of treatment. I'm reluctantly keeping my condo insurance for now, but I no longer trust State Farm. After this experience, I did research. Turns out I'm not alone. Longtime customers with decades of loyalty have their claims denied. Former employees even say go anywhere but here, they'll abuse you. When I told the corporate rep that requiring an agent is just a way to sell it as a "family feel," I called it what it is, total BS. We laughed, but honestly, there's nothing funny about my experience. If you do decide to go with State Farm, research the agents carefully, but don't be fooled--there's a snake everywhere. And if you end up here and are unhappy, know that you can switch agents. Call corporate, they will actually assist you and do more than the local office ever has. Here's your warning: R U N! Good luck. I'll also be attaching a lovely text message from Zach so people can see exactly how this office treats customers.

    I rarely give 5-star review but I feel Coastal Insurance and their team deserve this recognition…read more Recently I purchased a house and my mortgage broker pushed me to use their insurance company for obvious reason. While the pricing is great, I wanted to compare both the rate and the coverage. I emailed 5 different insurance companies and 4 of them immediately said "we'll get you the same policy for the same money" but only ONE came back to me and said you are not being covered properly and there's conflicting info in the underwriting language. That firm was none other than Coastal Insurance (see attached email). While their policy came back to be $200 more, but their policy also offers substantially more coverage. I would've rather pay the extra money than to leave myself exposed to a potential loss and claim denial b/c I didn't read the fine print. In a society where speed and cheap trumps service and common sense, it's refreshing to see a company that is thorough and didn't "sell me on price and price alone." Just an FYI, they also have an affiliate that provide tax grievance service and have saved me thousands of dollars with my commercial and residential properties.
