For the 2 or 3 claims we made over that time Greg's office handled everything quickly and fairly, and up until a couple of months ago I wouldn't have hesitated leaving a 5 star review. The trouble comes when you have a claim ABOVE $10,000, at which point the issue is out of the hands of local offices like Lopeman's and moves to "State Farm Corporate" as they describe themselves. These "adjustors" literally call themselves "a different company" from the local offices, and they are trained assassins at denying claims. We recently had water damage due to Tropical Storm Chantal, and the gyrations these clowns went through to deny us coverage were utterly ridiculous. When I proved that their first reason for denial was wrong because they were misreading a mechanical code, they came up with a second, unrelated denial. When I proved that wrong and insisted on speaking to a supervisor, that supervisor came up with yet a third reason to deny our claim, the first major one we'd made in over 30 years. Greg Lopeman is a good guy and does his best to run a fair business. But the fact is that State Farm Corporate is positively mercenary, and will be of no help to you if you actually need it. Look at their Google Reviews: 1.2 stars, and every review reads just like this one. Run, don't walk, from anything to do with State Farm Insurance. When you actually need them to do what you've been paying them for, they are worse than useless.

Not this specific agent but with how they scam you and get you into how they want to do the claim…read more I called from water flooding through my ceiling on the first floor, I talk to Karen who is reading to me very quickly but I catch 2 words in her sentence, "probably" and "maybe" I said to her probably doesn't cut it with me, anyway she tells me we're gonna send you an email that explains everything, but what they do is she then transferred me to another guy who gave me some info saying we'll take care of it then he transfers me to my claims guy, but I've been on the phone for 45 minutes straight, then when I tell the claim adjuster I had a plumber there to fix the issue, as well as a water restoration person who explained what is best and what they will do, now 35 minutes earlier Karen said we'll give you info in an email but my mind has not had a moment to stop and think as I've been going from person to person on the same call for over an hour, my agent is lining me up so he can get me to do exactly what is best and cheapest for State Farm, they do not care about their customers only what's best for State Farm. So he led me into a restoration company that he wanted so he could do it all cheaper (me I don't want cheaper this is our home and I want it top level great) not once did the claim guy let me know I had options to get my own people and own bids, but this is the part they SCAM us on, they gave me info in an email an hour ago but I've been on the phone the whole time listening to him not checking that I have options and that's exactly how they want it, they do not care about me or the quality fix of my home, just pull the shade over my eyes deflecting me for an hour plus while this dirty rat gets me to do it all his way. I had just moved to a new state, bought our new home 2 weeks earlier and said to myself State Farm has gotta be good, nope they showed they're all company people not for the customers. Weee finishing with this bs and gonna pay out of pocket to fix this right, safely (water equals possible mold) and switch back to our last company Triple A home & auto, we were with them for 20 years treated like we mattered and they cared about us, exact opposite with state farme. I urge nobody to buy insurance from them, total scammer is this guy, I will post the claim agents name after our home has them out of here. Oh and next thing, dirty water on our leather couch, he said sorry probably won't be able to cover, we asked him to help us get a hotel for 4-5 nights due to the loud blowers upstairs and downstairs, he immediately said no, then the water restoration company comes and instead of having their own generator, they're pulling a lot of power from here 24/7 for 5 days straight and this is ALL for us to pay for. I bet money on it with triple A they would have said no problem Mike well take a look at the couch and let ya know, also triple A would've at least offered 3 nights worth of a hotel, that's their standard platinum membership treatment
