But as you know, credit lenders aren't so quick to forgive even with a nice salary and rising score. Banks everywhere were holding it against me or asking for outrageous downpayments. I'm also in the middle of having to move because of promotion, I can't dedicate that much to my car and still have a home as well, I'd rather lose the vehicle, figure out how to make it work for awhile than just be homeless. However I passed Van Bortel's used car lot and picked something I could more than afford. Sadly the question still was, who would trust me. It wasn't the first e-mail pitch I received from him, but on this one day, I felt spurred to reach out to Mike and see what he could do for us. We knew that rates were at all time lows and we could save big if we could refinance. The catch was that we digging ourselves out of some bad debt and I've had many other lenders ghost me once they pulled my credit score. We'd made great strides recently to fix that and needed someone to give us a chance. Michael placed us in the very capable hands of one of his team members, Marie Bolton. Not only was the answer, "Yes, we'll work with you" but "We've got a deal you can't refuse!" Our initial estimates seemed almost too good to be true; but by the time we were all said and done, our terms at closing were EVEN BETTER! In the end we cut a 30-year fixed to a 15-year fixed and saved 2.5% APR in the process. That will save us AT LEAST $130,000 compared to sticking with the original mortgage. We plan to make extra payments and save even more. Overall, the process was very smooth and simple. Everything but the closing was completely online. From the application to uploading documents to e-signing forms, we were turning things around within minutes. Any questions Chris Marcelo, our processor, had, were resolved promptly for a quick approval. We were actually shocked when we were told on Wednesday that we were "Cleared to Close!" that the attorney wanted it done Friday morning. A night/day difference from our purchase experience. I did business at the Hudson avenue, Lyell avenue and East avenue locations. But I may add that their interest rates left little to be desired on savings accounts. So I started looking. One night after work while watching the evening news I started seeing ads for Key Bank. Plus they had a bonus/gift offering for new customers. At this time for starting a checking account,(with direct deposit) and a certain amount in your savings, the customer would receive a $300.00 dollar bonus after the waiting period. After seeing this ad for a few weeks I went in to Key Bank and sat down with Ellen Meagher. A long standing employee there. I explained I was employed, had some savings, plus going to start receiving my Social Security. After listening to her, things started to click. Plus the starting interest for savings (guaranteed) was 1.5, and if it goes up, you also get that rate. But guaranteed the 1.5 for the first year if I remember correctly. To me this is great. Plus they have other special programs for customers. I'm very pleased and one final thing I would like to add is this. At this bank Ellen Meagher who represented me keeps in touch with new programs for customers.

If you miss a payment, you aren't notified until a late charge is assessed and the payment goes to claims. they make you go to a third party to pay. This is only after 10 days. Bigger banks have notifications for when payments are due and if you missed the due date. these are extremely helpful notifications for busy people. the fact that KeyBank doesn't have them is why I rank them low. they don't want to help their customers pay on time. they prefer the late fees.

This is nearby to my house compared to other locations, so i made an appointment and it send me an email of confirmation with the tax guy who i will be meeting the next day. My appointment started at 7:30, the place is empty a guy greeted me and told me to wait until the accountant came and greeted me. He is a nice guy and made you me feel comfortable, it took an hour for him to finished it and 300 plus dollars later it was done.
