My private plumber confirmed their proposed solution to install another pressure valve at the other end was unnecessary, if they had been properly staffed with the appropriate amount of technicians for the job, the job could've been completed. I reached out after it was done on February 12, I got no response from the message. I left with Megan at the Cullman office and also no response from their website when I wrote to them as well. I received a bill on March 9 with no communication from them whatsoever, called again spoke with Megan again where she advised me she would get with a manager - she did call me back this time and said there was nothing their manager can do because the technician had already spent the time. This customer service is unacceptable and I would not recommend this company. After reviewing the contract with legal counsel, I am prepared to dispute the full leak detection charge based on the terms of the Standard Work Authorization and the circumstances of the service visit. According to the agreement, the service being purchased was "Leak Detection" with an estimated charge of $424 for two hours of detection time. However, during the visit the technician informed me that he was unable to properly perform the detection process because the gas used to pressurize the line escaped before he could attempt to locate the leak. He further stated that a plumber would first need to install an additional pressure regulator at the opposite end of the line so the system could be filled and tested before the gas escaped. He also indicated that this situation effectively required additional assistance in order to properly conduct the test. Because the line could not be adequately pressurized, the leak detection procedure described in the work authorization was never actually completed. The technician therefore did not perform the service outlined in the agreement, but instead determined that the system required additional preparation before leak detection could even occur. The agreement also states that if service is cancelled at the time of arrival, a $150 service call fee will apply. Since the leak detection service itself was not able to be performed, my attorney has advised the appropriate charge would be limited to the service call rather than the full leak detection fee. In the original contact I gave a rough estimate of the dimensions. Today, the representative said he drove by on June 11 and the price would be $3500, but I would need to pay 25% up front. When I asked if he was going come by and talk about it, he would not deviate from the price even though he did not have better measurements or talk to me about what I wanted done.
