Burrito
Hayden S.

Overall good but not great. Cute little restaurant in a great spot of Williamsburg. Coffee was so good. Food was good but not great. The huevos rancheros were really good but felt like not enough food. The burrito was good but was lacking a lot of flavor. I'd go again but like they the burger or chicken sandwich. The table next to me has those items and they looked great

Classic Allswell Burger with bacon and french fries

Allswell is a fantastic spot that delivers on every front. The service was attentive and friendly, making the experience feel effortless and welcoming. The food was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared with healthy options and generous portions that leave you satisfied without feeling overindulgent. What really stands out is the variety on the menu. Vegetarians will love the creative plant-based dishes that go beyond the usual salads, offering hearty and flavorful options. Meat lovers can indulge in perfectly cooked cuts and comforting classics that showcase quality ingredients. For those following a Paleo lifestyle, there are plenty of protein-rich choices and fresh sides that keep things clean and wholesome without sacrificing taste. The ambience strikes a perfect balance: cozy and inviting for couples on a date, yet spacious and lively enough for a group gathering. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy good conversation. The drink selection is another highlight, offering a great variety to complement any meal. Overall, Allswell is a go-to destination for anyone looking for quality food, great service, and an atmosphere that suits both intimate and social occasions. Highly recommended!

Very fun menu! Something for everyone. Fast and friendly service as well. You MUST try the bao & the chicken nuggets. I literally can't stop thinking about them Also the house salad with grilled chicken is unreal. It's like a teriyaki sauce? UNREAL

Crispy chicken sandwich was so crispy and juicy and tasty! Best chicken sandwich I've ever had
Michelle C.

Literally writing this review to tell you that their crispy chicken sandwich is the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. The breading is super crisp and light, the chicken is super juicy and the portions are great. Bread was so good too! $22 for sandwich + fries or salad, not bad for a sit down dinner. My partner said their hot sauce was really good too! Place inside is a little dim, but I think that's the vibe. Service is good, but you still might need to wave someone down if the servers are working .

Hello expensive for a pub, but I had one of the best portobello mushroom burgers I've ever had. Extremely juicy and soft and so chewy. I loved every bite of this. It felt so fresh. I didn't feel heavy or greasy afterwards. The artichoke hearts appetizer was tasty, but not something I would absolutely come back for

Allswell is good solid food. On a Saturday at lunch time we were seated immediately. Service was good but nothing outstanding. They forgot a side dish I ordered but by the time I realized I didn't want it anymore and it wasn't on the bill. Would I rush back here? Probably not.

Onion rings

I am staying in town to visit my son and we needed a fast casual place for a quick drink and some Berber's and fried chicken Sammie's and this place hit the spot. Decent Burger - I thought the chicken Sammie was better however. Good onion rings and fries and the beer was cold and the drinks were decent. Good local joint. The mushroom flat bread was also decent and tasty . Overall Recommended.

The drink was totally fine but the chicken sandwich was decent, not really worth the price or hype given they said it's what they're known for. I thought there was too much mayo/sauce that was drowning it. It was also not well displayed/plated. I think the fries were much better, being crispy and warm.

I will absolutely have to come back here for brunch as I enjoyed the dinner so much! Started with the fried miso eggplant and WOW - what a dish. It was so flavorful, the fry itself was perfect and the eggplant wasn't slimy or too mushy. Never had eggplant prepared this way but it was so sumptuous. My dining companion got a grilled cheese - which I ended up taking half home and having that the next day, it was SO good. I really enjoyed the bread to cheese ratio and the cheese was delicious. I myself got the Grilled Shrimp Pozole. The shrimps were grilled perfectly, the base of the dish was delicious, not too spicy but very warm flavors throughout. Good service, great atmosphere and open on Mondays - doesn't get better than that! Can't wait to come back for brunch!

Trout salad

Allswell is very cute inside and super warm and friendly. I was just not a fan of the food, the portions are great, but it just wasn't my favorite. I got the trout salad and I don't know what I expected, it was very fishy, I guess I thought the fish would be warm. I ordered the curry shrimp and it was just ok. Nothing blew my mind but I think the environment and service made up for it. I would give this place another try.

Nice little cozy spot to grab comfort food staples in Wburg. There is some solid outdoor seating options. Menu or food is not gonna change your life but will maybe trick you into thinking you are eating in someone's living room which I always appreciate.

ALLSWELL Classic Cheeseburger

Allswell is a nice little pub on Bedford and N 10th, nearby to an active area of Williamsburg. I went on a Tuesday night. The vibe was pretty chill. I'd read about this spot being known for burgers, so I ordered the classic cheeseburger. It was very good. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was; a juicy and satisfying rendition. Veggies were crisp and cheese was fully melted. I also liked how the bun was soft and the mayo seemed homemade - light, creamy, and not as acidic as others. They were out of the tres leches cake dessert, so I selected the apple pie with ice cream as a substitute. It was good, although the ice cream didn't have much vanilla flavor. I wasn't planning to drink alcohol but did peruse the cocktail section of the menu. A decent selection of drinks with what appear to be good ingredients. Be aware: they charge a 3.6% card processing fee which I didn't find out about until I checked my receipt.

Source Bowl - small quantity of chicken, veggies drenched in oil
Vianna C.

Update: Bf got mild food poisoning from the burger. Officially won't be back. Compared to other restaurants I've visited in the neighborhood, Allswell was subpar in both food and service. I ordered a Source Bowl, and the chicken portion was very small. A few pieces were burnt and dry, so I couldn't eat them. Then the "Asian" veggies they came with were greasy (drenched in oil), and salty. I think that one big piece of feedback: this restaurant is clearly American, but offers a few "Asian" (maybe fusion) options that just fall short, and they maybe shouldn't try. Service was slow. We ordered a side of onion rings that came out when we were nearly finished with our entrees. After checking in with the waitress, she was very nonchalant and assured us it would be on the way. The total wait was over 30-mins, and when we asked for the check, she passed us 5-6 times before giving us the card reader. Finally, I have never seen a restaurant that charges a credit card fee on top of the bill (2.6%). If that's the case, please bake the costs in the price of your menu items. In an area that is quite lively with many food options, Allswell fails to be a place I'd come back to.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.

Every table has a placemat with crayons which is such a fun way to keep kids and adults entertained. The food was delicious and tasted fresh, living up to their messaging on sourcing local food. We ordered the egg katsu sandwich and the eggs rothko. The sandwich was very well made with a nice crisp panko crusting that didnt feel heavy on the oil, and yet still managed to have a light airy egg inside. The eggs rothko was buttery and flavorful but still managed to not feel too heavy. The broiled tomatos on the side were a nice touch to contrast the egg and toast from the main dish. Overall I enjoyed this place and would love to come back to try more dishes. The vibe was friendly and welcoming, making it the perfect weekend brunch spot.
