I always get the same thing; a pedicure with a no chip mani and they do a fantastic job here. Making an appointment was easy and they take their time to get the colors and polish right. The mani also came with an unexpected yet pleasant neck massage. It's a nice open space with several stations making a group event easy. My mom and I felt pampered from start finish. read more

It was an okay experience. Maybe I was biased because the mani/pedi I had just had two weeks before was such an amazing experience, but this was just 'meh.' My friend and I made appointments for pedicures and gel manicures for a Saturday morning (for her birthday), and we both had Groupon deals. We got there a few minutes early and they weren't quite ready (we got there about 20 minutes after open and there were already at least 5 other people in there!), so my friend and I started picking out our colors. They have the gel colors on the back wall and the rest up front, so if you're trying to match your fingers and toes it's a bit hard. It wasn't clear if they had matching colors in gel/non gel, so I took a guess. The pacing was very odd, and they kept cycling which person was working on each of us. I had a gel removal so they started with me, and then took one hand's worth of polish, then made me sit for five minutes before someone else came to do the other hand. My friend went to the pedicure chair first, then I went about ten minutes later but ended up finishing my pedicure first. If I was on my own it might not have been as noticeable, but the point was to do the mani/pedi together and we spent very little time together. Some of the nail techs speak better English than others, which can be a challenge if you're trying to communicate what you want done with your nails and there's a misunderstanding, so it can be a bit frustrating. Overall it was a decent experience, and my nails turned out looking good, but I'm not sure it's a place I'd rush back to when I've had better experiences elsewhere. read more

This happened yesterday at Aroma Nails. I had a scheduled appointment for dazzle dry fast manicure and pedicure, however being slow that day, the technicians wanted to get me out as soon as possible and rushed through the work. I came with the impression that only one technician would do my nails, but another one stepped in to complete the manicure. When I paid, the employees expressed their dissatisfaction with my tip. I am not going to tip double when I have two people doing less work. Then the following morning, not even 24 hours later, two of the polish came off my nail! Sunday would have been my only day to come in to have them fix it, but they are closed Sundays and I am unavailable to go in any other time. Aroma Nail Technicians if your going to talk badly about the clientele do it went their not there and if you do not like the tip then do not accept it. Second do not rush through your work because it will result in the loss of loyal clients. read more

Aroma nails is a must go in the glen area (and surrounding areas for that matter). The salon is clean and the workers are very talented and nice. Recently this place went through new management and everything is the same if not better! The owner is very friendly and accommodating. I come to aroma nails for the dazzle manicure. Interesting salon - prices have very little to do with prices listed on front window and inside. There is a cash discount advertised but the discount varies week to week. Close to home. Great staff. I love Stella & Grace, they are my 2 fav nail technicians. Good specials all week. ($30 mani pedi mon thru wed, $35 mani ped thur thru sat) This place is like my second home. Maybe it's coz I'm Korean and it's a korean owned nail salon, but they all treat me like their daughter. 2 stars for the service and pedicure I got and 1 extra star to reflect my friend's better but not terrific experience. We had side by side pedicures - she got a lower leg and foot massage, my gal tried to tell me I "missed" mine because I was talking. Um, yeah, I'd know if you'd massaged my feet and legs or not no matter how much my mouth was moving...followed by an extremely poor attempt to do it after I said something. Did not ask me about length or shape and cut one nail well below the proper level before I stopped her then rolled her eyes when i said not to cut the rest of them. 7 hours later I'm still feeling the nail she cut too low. On top of that the scraping/callus removal was so minimal that it's as if it was never done. So disappointing as I'd been to this salon a few times before and while it was never a rave it was always decently on the good side. My feet barely feel pampered and I feel scammed. If it wasn't for the company of my friend who had a better experience (though still not great) it would have earned 2 stars at the best. read more

Everything about this place is great! The location is prime, as it's right next to the train station and in the glen. Prices are about the same as most other salons but considering the upscale area that it's located in, they're pretty good. The decor is very modern, comfortable, and clean, not to mention, the massage chairs really get in there. I'm greeted with a chorus of "hi's" when I walk in and someone almost always puts a drying oil on my nails and says goodbye when I leave. Esther is very personable and professional. Though her English is a bit lacking, I like that she tries. The staff changes every now and then but everyone is always very friendly and great at what they do. It was my first time at this nail salon, and I have to say it was just ok and that I've had better experiences. I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi since they have a $30 special Mon-Wed and it's super close to where I work. It's a fairly new establishment in the Glen. If I were rating cleanliness and the appearance of the place, I would give it 5 stars hands down. They had these awesome massage chairs while you get a pedi that face two flat screens where they were showing a dvd of "Notting Hill". (Romantic comedy--nice touch for one who wants to relax and be pampered) The mani tables don't face the screens which caused my neck to be sore since I actually wanted watch. They also put this warm neck pillow on which at first I thought was very pleasant, but eventually it cools down then it literally just becomes a weight on your shoulders and actually started hurting rather than relaxing. When I took it off myself, an employee came over to take it from me and then slung it around her neck...which I thought was just...weird. Anyway, on to the actual service. I know I'm assuming here, but I really think that I had a newbie working on me. Someone else kept coming over to check her work, and It took a little over an hour an half to do both the mani and pedi. I was dying! I'm all for them taking their time and doing a great job and all, but it felt more like she was thinking to herself, "I have to take my time because I think I might screw up." I have definitely had better service. And I get it, everyone has to start somewhere. Someone is always the first client...but why me? Damnit! Then the nail polish I chose was that super thick, kinda gloppy consistency which totally sucks cuz then she was putting it on waaay too thick. Not until the end did someone try to thin it with acetone or something. I don't know why it wasn't done earlier or why I wasn't given the chance to choose another color. Also, you know how when you are getting a mani and they let one hand soak in a little bowl to soften the cuticles? She was taking so long with one hand, the other hand that was soaking...I swear to you, turned into raisins!!! There was my pruney hand soaking in cold water...not a good feeling! No exfoliation was done for my hands even though I clearly saw another customer get it done. Hmmm..what else...oh she blew her nose in the middle of my mani and didn't wash her hands....that was super gross. Also while she was pushing my cuticles back I swear she was gonna jam that instrument right into me...it hurt so much! I kept pulling away from her! I was then brought to a personal station to dry my nails. I don't know what they are called, but it was the thing where there's a bluish light; and when it turned on it shined on all this gunky, smeared stuff where I was supposed to rest my hands. I was kinda grossed out so I had somewhat float my hands so I didn't touch the surface. Upon inspecting my mani, I noticed she didn't even clean off the polish she got on the skin around the nails, it just seemed like a very messy, amateurish job overall. *sigh* so you can definitely say that I had one of the worst mani/pedi's. I can't completely rule this place out just cuz the location convenience and their Mon-Wed special. Hopefully, I would have someone else work on me. But, besides the unfortunate first time experience, everyone there was really nice and friendly. However, you should know, their prices seem a bit on the high side (besides the special) for a typical nail salon. Just as an FYI, they also offer waxing, they accept credit cards, but you have to pay tip with cash. If the employee who worked on me were new to this....one suggestion to them, let her practice on another employee first! read more

Just wanted to update that they've lowered their price to $30 for a no-chip manicure! Lydia and Esther are both excellent at no-chip manicures, and they often include a free neck massage. Today, I had accumulated enough stamps on my rewards card to get a free manicure, and I'm happy to say that they redeemed my card happily and that the free manicure service was just as luxurious as though I were paying for it. :) The owner told me today that Mondays and Thursdays are some of their slower days. On busier days, it helps to make an appointment. read more

I came in for mani/pedi and at the end of service she (Anny) told me that I did not TIP her enough. What??!! I was furious that someone would tell me how much I should tip!! I've been to a lot of nail salons in the area and Aroma is one of the cleanest in the area. Everything has been wiped down and there are no little nail clippings of other clients laying around. HORRIBLE place. My friend and I had 5:45 mani/pedi appointments. My pedicure was okay except for the fact she got MAD at me when I asked her to use a razor for my heels. My friends nail tech didn't use the right color on her toes and since she didn't speak any english she didn't understand that. So another nail tech had to finish her pedicure. Also, during my friends pedicure they also started to give her a manicure and the nail tech messed up on that and so they had to redo the entire manicure. At 6:47 to be exact when we were STILL drying our nails, they all got their purses out and bags and made us leave and walked out RIGHT behind us. Mind, that they don't close until 7 pm. Nice, clean décor, staff is quiet, i.e. they don't talk among themselves in any language, polite, and very attentive. As far as service, I guess it depends who you get. But I believe a salon shouldn't be like this. The owners should train them to do exceptional work. My manicurist was very gentle. So gentle, I left there with the same callus I had on my feet before the pedicure. The manicure was not different: she did not attempt to remove the cuticles until I asked her, and I asked her a couple of times to go over and remove cuticle. The polish was poor as well, I could see the nails on the sides, unpolished. Ugh! I wish I could give top reviews, because they are so nice and accommodating, but it really lacked quality. read more
