I tried this place out this past winter during a snow storm, and fell in love with the nail tech Jenny. She was pleasant to talk with, and my mani/pedi lasted almost 6 weeks! I liked it so much that I call in this past weekend and asked if Jenny had any openings for that day. When I arrived I mentioned to Jenny that I called in for her services, and was still brush off to someone else. The nail tech that ended up doing my nail did a great job, and I was pleased with how they looked. However, I just don't like the fact that I was brushed off to someone else. I don't see myself going back which is a shame. I was willing to drive from Reston to make you guys my go to place. read more

Tried this place today because I was in the area. Specifically told the woman that I don't want thin eyebrows. Her skills are so bad. Not only I have the thin brows I didn't want, the brows are now so high and the curve line of one brow is not smooth. She didn't know how to trim whatsoever with the scissors. Don't go there for eyebrow waxing because it is an art and you need professionals to shape them right. They can only handle simple removing hair elsewhere on the body. Don't think I would ever try mani or pedi here. read more

I love to share positive experiences especially where it can support small businesses. I experienced a negative situation at this nail salon but felt heartened and understood upon raising the issue with the manager whom I had requested to speak with and who was present during the issue. Consequently, I was invited to come back with an appointment and offered compensation in the form of a discount on my next visit.This did not happen. Instead i was given one option which was for a free add on service valued lower than what I was originally to be compensated, and one that I would not otherwise request. I was denied the discount I was previously offers when I asked for it toward my basic service. The manager told me that this is a policy of "the managers" who "don't do that" for the reason of promoting their special services. Essentially I learned in the moment that their policy on customer service is to preserve their business interests. I wouldn't typically mind the option I was given but because of the situation that led to the compensation offer in the first place, I feel that they needed to have done better. I had never been so rudely treated by a service provider than I was by one of theirs. In fact, I was shouted at by one of their employees. I never raised my voice nor spoke out of turn, but left hurt and confused by what happened. I did become optimistic about resolution and giving them another chance after speaking with the manager. While the work performed on my nails by the manager upon returning (who turned out to conveniently not be the manger) was friendly and careful, she deflected responsibility and authority to rectify the situation when it was well within her power to do so. I was asked to pay for a service I never requested, mistreated, offered compensation then denied it. Ultimately, they got more money from a situation where they were in wrong. It's easy to be nice but harder to do the right thing. I shall be seeking out a small business that can better operate with this integrity and will not be returning to Allure. 1.5stars read more

Jenny is the absolute best! My mom and I have been going to Allure for such a long time - first my mom went and then she brought me along. Jenny is easily the best nail tech I've ever had, and she did such an amazing job on my nails. She also shaped my brows for me and I LOVE the way they look. She did it so quickly and efficiently that it was literally over in 5 minutes and virtually pain-free. The way she shaped them really compliments my face too, and I'm really happy with the results. While I ended up with a fabulous manicure, the woman whom I am guessing is the owner/manager kept talking over me and trying to make herself sound intelligent. Her level of knowledge when it comes to people with disabilities is zero and she wouldn't let the woman actually doing my nails, Annie, speak for herself. Had the standard Manicure, Pedicure and Eyebrow wax done here this past weekend. The customer service by Annie was great and both her and Jennifer made me feel comfortable. They asked me for water and we had a fun conversation. I loved my nails and my eyebrows were groomed very nicely. It was certainly not bad at all and their prices are reasonable compared to other salons in Tysons/Vienna area. read more

I went to this salon to get my gel nail polish taken off. I have been getting gel for many years and have never been charged more than $10 to get it taken off. Allure charged me $25 dollars. This is more than a manicure at this salon! Nothing special was done to make spending that amount of money on cotton balls and foil worth it. I cannot speak to their ability to do nails, and I will not be finding out because that was a complete rip off. read more

Went to get a fill here and over the phone I was quoted $20 and was charged $25. The lady doing my nails also cut me deep with the filer and didn't even apologize. I ended up getting an infection on my left hand which caused me a lot of a headache. They did however squeeze me in right before they closed which was nice of them. read more

Ten fingers and ten toes UP for Allure! The best is, as it has been from the start, the BEST. There are so many (too many) nail salons and spas in Fairfax. A situation that makes choosing one a chore if not a headache. I've been a client for many years. Occasionally, I'll take a chance on a recommendation from a friend to try a new salon ... and I continue to return to Sonny and his team at Allure. I've had each of the technicians do my mani-pedi; with complete quality and care. I have to admit I do like Thao and her skills. Especially the foot and hand massage that are part of their therapy. I think what I like best is that they take their time to make sure you get the service you need. They don't force you into a fixed (usually too short) appointment time. No clock watching at Allure. The salon is spotless, and its relative small nature of it makes for much more personalized attention. I know they do waxing too, and the number of people who come for that alone is impressive - they must be doing something right, but it's not a service I need. Located in the heart of Vienna - the parking is a breeze. I was there again on Saturday and walked out feeling like I have new hands and feet. Bottom line - you can shop around, or you can become a regular at what I know to be the best (IMHO). You try ... you decide. I'm confident in my recommendation. Enjoy! read more

I had been going to Allure Nails for pedicures about 4 to 5 times a year for about 5 years; usually spring through late summer/early fall. For $28, I would get a decent pedicure, everything that comes with a basic pedicure. My most recent visit was horrible. I spent $28 for the basic pedicure (I think it's called Express, which is what I always get for the most part) and the girl spent about 10 minutes on me--no massage, no cutting of cuticles and my polish came off within 2 weeks. The pedicure itself usually takes about 30 minutes, at least it did the time before. She rushed in order to get to the next woman. I actually tipped her because I would otherwise feel bad but I will not be going back there again. Oh well. I'll have to find another nail salon. read more

This is by far my favorite nail salon in the DMV, the 50 min drive is well worth it. Jennifer is always so kind and makes me/any of my guests feel like we are old friends. Their manis/pedis are almost bullet proof (both normal and gel), the extras included in the Spa level service are actually worth the extra (unlike most places) and the price is perfect! It's $35 for a spa pedicure and this easily lasts me a month. I will continue to drive out to Allure because I've tried other salons in the area and no one can compete with them! read more

I am honestly shocked at the number of good ratings, which is why I chose this salon in the first place. Perhaps Jenny is awesome, but my Mom and I had the worst experience we've ever had in a nail salon today and I'm still fuming. I booked an appointment for the two of us to get pedicures. We waited for about 15 mins and then someone pointed us to get to the last two chairs. We sat there with our feet in the water...no idea who our technician was, and waited. Some hurried woman (still don't know her name) sat down and asked my Mom what she wanted. She immediately began doing her feet while I sat there and looked around. She hurried through my Mom's pedicure while I just sat there unattended, and assumed she was hurrying because I was next. If I'd been told this when I called, I would not have booked the appointment. So I got to sit through Mom's awful treatment, and then sat through my own. While I'd normally be upset that my pedicure lasted less than 20 minutes, in this case I was overjoyed. I should've walked out but I didn't want to make an already bad experience worse for my Mom. This nail tech was rude, ROUGH, did not use proper techniques, and did an overall crummy job. I normally don't post negative reviews, but this is not ok. They shouldn't book appointments if they can't staff them. A $38 pedicure should last at least 30 minutes, if not more, and should come with a foot and leg massage. And most importantly, please SANITIZE YOUR TOOLS AND DON'T USE THEM ON MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS WITHOUT CLEANING. If I had to bet, the person who worked on us doesn't even have a license. The price I was told was different than the one I saw on the platform website. The lady who assisted me said it was different, no explanation. Okay. I wish I knew her name but she seemed to be the manager on duty. She seemed nice at first. I settled in to my pedicure, the lady working on me never said anything to me, and I am a talkative person so that was awkward. The manager lady began working on a nice, bubbly person's nails. But what was weird is she talked more to the lady sitting next to her than to her own client. She was kissing her butt saying she's young, and has beautiful hair that's how she remembered her from last time. There were three women getting worked on there at the same time and she only complimented one, I can't imagine what the nice older lady she was working on must have felt. I guess because this woman was a return customer or something. Then I changed my mind and opted for no polish on my toes and she was pushing me to get it anyway. Putting it down saying it doesn't look as nice. I have no problems with clean, unpolished toe nails. But she pushed me on this more than once and that made me uncomfortable. I asked for a take home menu of their prices and she barked at me they don't have one, find one online. Every salon I've been to has one...the blatant favoritism shown to one client over the rest (she should be making EVERYONE feel beautiful) and the pressure for something I didn't really want is an annoying combo. I had a gift certificate to Allure that I never got around to using. It was six months past the expiration. I called to ask them if they would honor it. The woman on the phone assured me they would. So I made the trek from Reston only to be told by a gentleman there that he could not honor it. I explained to him what I had been promised on the phone. He said, "I will not honor it now." And then points to the woman I had talked to on the phone and said, "She doesn't know." As I was responding he walks away to have another conversation. Extremely unprofessional and extremely rude. I would not recommend this place. I understand that they were doing me a favor but once the customer has been assured that they will honor their gift certificate they should either honor it or offer some sort of a compromise. read more

I'm appalled at my recent experience with Allure Nails. I always appreciated their work, kind employees and professional atmosphere, until recently. Jenny had talked me into the "dip" manicure and informed me that the mani would last up to three weeks. After paying $55 for the "dip" manicure, I was pleased with the outcome - until - a week into it my nails peeled off. I took pictures and went into the salon asking kindly if there is a way to remedy this situation. The lady told me she'd re-do them but I'd have to pay $55 for it "because she needed to get paid..." is what she told me. I gracefully left. I returned the next day to speak to Jenny in person - and she abruptly discredited my claim about my nails falling off and asked me to provide photo evidence (which I had done so the day prior) and quickly made it my fault that this happened. Now, my fault or not, I was thrown into a position where it was her/their word against mine. I was not asking for anything but a remedy to fix my problem. I don't care about the money or the nails - it is the principle of the matter. After some back-and-forth - I walked out - at which point Jenny frantically offered to re-do my nails at no cost. I kindly declined and left. I'm shocked that such a great nail place here in Vienna treated me that way. I will not return and when people ask me for recommendations, I'll tell them if they want positive and proactive customer experience, go anywhere BUT Allure Nails. read more
