Mychel did an incredible, no amazing, job with my hair transformation. The shine and vibrancy when in the sun just leaves me obsessed with my color. I love being a red head and this color session made me love it even more! This isn't my first time with Mychel either! I moved away from my home city for a job and a couple months later Mychel moved north too! Talk about perfect because we know how hard it to find a person that you trust with your hair/body!!! Since my initial post, the chemical reaction to the dark dye became so severe that I had to go to the emergency room/urgent care for medical treatment. Despite warning Mychel O'Brien four times that dark dye would compromise my scalp, my warnings were ignored. I have now filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, and my bank to dispute the charges. I would not have gone down this road (I've never had to) had I not been ghosted. I asked when we could start correcting the color. No one has followed up or reached out. I also see banding from my roots to the rest of my hair. No one with umpteen years of experience colors hair like this and doesn't know how to adjust colors. read more

Review for Ananda: I got a cut with her first, and thought wow she is nice interesting etc. she said during the cut, she didn't like to do color/it was difficult. I was like I know you just said that, but I have been wanting to color my hair, and would like you to do it. I showed her a picture of Ella Langley hair as this was my inspo for the cut and I wanted her color. Just a balayage type of hair color, caramel highlights in the front and back/throughout. I had not colored my hair in 12yrs and was excited for a change. She said we can do highlights in the front or all around. And we set up an appointment. The day of the appointment, she did not ask to see the picture and just said how blonde do you want to go. I said, well it's up to you, you're the professional. Thinking we were on the same page. WE WERE NOT. She highlighted/bleached my whole friggen head, including bangs? And it turned grey and banana blonde. Everyone of my family members and people at my work said it looked horrible. I literally hid my hair for FOUR DAYS. The top was thick, streaking banana blond, and then the bottom was thin grey blonde?? Neither of which I asked for. I reached out for a refund. She offered to fix it, which I was okay with bc I like her, and I just asked her to dye it back to brown bc I did not trust her to do a good job with a complicated hair color (she literally told me as she was washing the toner out of my hair the first time she had just messed up highlights on someone else). Then at the end of my coloring, she blamed me!! For not wanting to change my hair?? Saying something like 'not ready for a change' in a demeaning baby voice. And then CHARGED ME MORE. She also said I never showed her a picture which is a flat out lie. I was already going to tip her when she fixed it bc I realize she makes a living off of this/hairdye cost money but to see my hair before and get everyone's reaction from my hair (all being negative and it looked horrible) then be blamed and charged? Like it is just because I didn't want a change?? No, it was because it WAS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR and it was splotchy, yellow and grey, and did not look good at all. I really liked her, and she just moved her, so I had been recommending people to her (set up an appt for my boyfriend and everything), but after that, she's a rip off and takes no responsibility. I feel so angry about this. Horrible -1000/10. 465$ (245$ for the initial highlights, 95$ for the fix with tip because I am a nice human) to have damaged hair that is back to my original color? But splotchy and going to fade to crappy highlights. AND be blamed for her bad work. I wanted a new BETTER look not what she gave me. Just insane. This is a warning for others. Review for business: Never going here again, and warning every person not to go here. No responsibility, no accountability and I cannot believe I actually went back to get it fixed. Should've just gotten a refund. Just because a customer is courteous and not trying to be rude doesn't mean they should be blamed when the work is obviously bad and not what the customer asked for. I have maybe written 3 reviews (all good, I think a spa, a restaurant and a CanAm ride?) in my life, but I am completely baffled by this experience. read more

I started going to Mario, 2 out of 3 times he's had to redo my hair being he didn't do what I asked. He does get side tracked easily with other employees, and I think this often leads to him messing up. I did paid $100 extra for corrections, simply being nice on top of over 200 hair and nice tip. My hair was patchy and stripes of blonde and brown, Mario did have attitude upon having to correct it. I sent pics and he was very apologetic afterwards. Asked me to come back. I also did state that none of my grays were covered and he told me yeah because I have natural gray hair. I said well that's why I come to you. I pay you to fix this. I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt, but honestly my hair has been so over processed it broke terribly. I had to use a numerous amount of product to help save it and took a few months break after having to cut my long hair off. I figured I would give it another go, people make mistakes. Mario canceled on my appt. . and because I said it was inconvenient for the date he was trying to reschedule, he was put out and said I can refer you to another stylist. It's fairly common sense that most people will be busy at the 4th of July. I would not recommend. Find a stylist who cares about how healthy your hair is. read more

My gorgeous bridal party and I were pampered by these two artists. They both asked what we wanted, how we wanted it, and all along the way made sure we were all happy and comfortable with what was going on, every step of the way. They arrived on-time, were very up-beat considering it was 6 a.m. They offered advice and suggestions when asked. Most important, they gave us each little goodie bags with touch-up makeup to get us through the ceremony and reception. A very thoughtful touch. read more

Came in for a correction blonding session that went wrong from a YouTube "save time doing it yourself at home" mistake. Candice was super helpful with her knowledge of blond session and revived my hair. My hair was so damaged especially with a wedding coming up, I freaked out. I wanted hand tied extension but Candice disagreed. Glad she did because that would've pulled out my fragile hair. She instead insisted on a Halo Couture extension instead. The shop had suppliers and ships directly to the store so I didn't have to shop around. That was super helpful! And my hair turned out AMAZING!!! she even blended that to my natural hair, blond of course. A little background, Asian hair and has 20 inch extensions. Months later, surprisingly, she offered me hand-tied since my hair was healthier. I was eager to get started and now I'm rocking hand-tied (which she bleached my hair and installed). I used to do 2 hours elsewhere that turned my hair fried, but I rather spend the whole day getting my hair done correctly and healthily. I've referred her 2 of the besties. I met a lady that had her hair done by him, I loved the colors. He was so accommodating & listened to what I wanted. I loved talking to him & probably talked his ear off! I showed Michele a reference photo saying I want to keep the length but just get a trim and add layers. My hair had some heat damage, but not to the point where it needed to be completely chopped. She cut 5 inches off. I wish I would've said something but there was nothing else she could've done. She did the same thing to someone else I know. Unfortunate. She's a very nice woman and I've seen she does great work with spunky cuts, just probably not the best choice if you want simple and minimal. read more

Absolutely love this place, found it about a year ago and I am never going anywhere else. I feel so taken care of and welcomed. All of the stylists are amazing people. Angela makes my hair look amazing every time. She understands that sometimes I come I in having no clue what I want, but that I want a change and she makes it beautiful every time. It has such a warm feel, even just waiting for your appointment time you can have a complimentary coffee or tea at their cute little coffee bar. Went to this salon for the first time today and absolutely loved everything about it! From the start I really appreciated the website and the ease with making an appointment online, you wouldnt believe how hard it is to get some salons to call you back these days! I'm new to Chico and had been looking for weeks and thankfully finally found this salon and was able to be seen by Andrea for a balayage and haircut session. She was great! So nice and easy to talk to too. I went in with my natural black hair and came out with my hair looking perfectly sunkissed with caramel just like I wanted. I appreciate the whole vibe of Allure Salon. The atmosphere is fun and professional-and the clientele is of diverse ages and genders, which I love. It's homey. And I have to say, Angela is a gem of a stylist-for one, my hair looked great 8 weeks after being done and I'm not want to boast but I had some photos taken for a jewelry shoot and I was shocked at the color and how the style just grew out so well. Also, she cuts my bangs between appointments because I just wanted a perk. My niece recommended her and the salon and I will do the same. Angela is sharp, keen on keeping current and has an urban flair. I like that Allure Salon feels grounded and doesn't have to try to be hip. It's a fresh breath of real. And Angela is a sweetie because she totally supports my penchant for having a Stevie Nicks fixation right now. I was very disappointed in my experience at allure. I scheduled an appointment with Andrea to get a trim and a gloss. Upon showing up she told me she didn't book enough time for me because she thought I was a blonde. One, that makes no sense since I have brown hair and wanted a gloss which takes only a little longer than toner. And two, there were three workers there and I was the only client there sooooo. I also stated I wasn't blonde on the phone and that I specifically wanted a gloss. So in the end I didn't get a cut or gloss and now have to go somewhere else. I would recommend going somewhere else, not professional. read more

Allure is a rare breed of chilled out, no drama, but plenty of wine and girly stuff salon. It's clean and cheerful and the staff are all very friendly. Angela is fabulous! She has done crazy, dramatic color on my impossibly dark hair and has also been able to bring the crazy back down to natural when my mood changes. When I'm inspired by a picture, she can give me the cut/ dye/ style I want, and when I have no inspiration or idea, she is creative and knows how to create something I love. read more
