The waiting area was very comfortable. My stylist, CaSandra Bravo was excellent. She was quick to greet me upon entry, and quickly finished her current client and invited me back to a clean workspace right on time for my appointment. We had a very quick consultation and she began. She kept me company without overwhelming me like many stylists I've had before. My haircut was not rushed, and After she styled my hair it was then obvious to me that my hair was in fact flawless. I feel like a whole new man. Great experience. I usually have no problem getting an appointment that day but you might have to be open to who does it because they basically self schedule around their bookings. So I moved to Chico a couple weeks ago and I was looking for a new salon. I happend to walk by this shop on my way to the movies and thought I would pop in to get some pricing and information about services. I walked in and the place was popping for a salon. Looked like maybe a trunk show was going on or something. I went to the counter and was greeted lack lusterly by a younger gentlemen. When I inquired about pricing I was told FIRST that I couldn't have any services that day. How does that answer my price question? After I told him I was only looking for pricing he showed me a pamphlet with some prices. I asked what the prices included and he gave me a rude one line answer like why was I asking what was included? My last salon would do highlites but would give you 2 shade colors for the price of one and offered free styling with all color jobs. I ended up walking out of there with a pamphlet and a mental note not to return. I dont care how good of a stylist your salon has if I can't be treated with respect and kindness from the front desk. I have already told a few people not to patronize this salon. read more

I did indeed decide to give Twisted Strands another try while I was back in Chico visiting friends. Their prices are very reasonable. My appointment was with Desire, very pleasant girl. She did a very nice job layering, but when it came time to give me the bangs I requested it got awkward. She was very uncomfortable and kept giving me the sweepover bangs. After the fourth request, I left with no bangs and had to get it recut elsewhere. Maybe just a little more practice necessary. read more

Really truly fabulous! Kelly was very attentive and meticulous. I wanted an aline Bob with bangs with a purplish tint ombre-like quality, and she delivered beautiful results! I would definitely recommend this salon to my friends for the future. Although Kelly was amazing, very very polite and attentive to my needs, I do wish the salon had a much larger stock of shampoos and various styling paraphernalia, because if they had carried Nexxus Organics or another similar quality shampoo and conditioner, I would have bought the set! lost revenue! Booo! That is a very very minor issue, as overall my experience was pleasant and staff was wonderful and results were perfect!! read more

This place was amazing. I walked in randomly to get a wash and style because I was to lazy to do my own hair for a party. They were very accommodating and took me right away. They also have dry wax so they don't use strips. Kristina was my stylist and she did a fantastic job and was very nice and personable. My experience was awful. It was about 3 weeks ago that I went. I asked for a simple hair cut with no layers. She ended up giving me layers and it was totally uneven. I also told her 'light brown' and my hair turned out to be orange!!! When I first called they said it would $65-$70 for a hair cut and color and she charged me $100 for orange uneven freaking hair. She was totally rushing todo her job and did not really talk much. I will never be coming back. I'm so upset that I wasted my time and money at this salon. read more

Do not use this salon for eye lash extensions. The woman is very rude and does not take her time. I have tried her 3 times and my lashes start to fall out the day I leave. She is defensive and expects a big tip. She charges the going rate of $50 for a fill and rushes through the service. read more

LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. The first appointment was about 6 weeks ago, they gave me an available time of 10am. I showed up 5 till and the door was locked. Then a woman showed up, not my stylist. I was one of three people waiting for stylists. Mine showed up 10 minutes late, took me to her chair 15 minutes late. As a self employed business woman, this is just not how you do it. I let the stylist cut my hair. It wasn't the end of the world, it wasn't great. 6 weeks later I called the salon on and off ALL day and it just went to voice mail. I was in the process of writing a review on that when I thought I'd give them another chance. A woman picked up the phone, different stylist, scheduled another appointment. When I showed up for that one everyone was late again. My stylists walks me over and asks me what I want. I tell her I want a razor'd shaggy bob. She then says "Well I don't do razor cuts, why didn't you tell me that is what you wanted on the phone?" My reply was "If you can't do pretty basic things you might want to qualify the appointment before making it" to which her snide remark was "No one really gets razor cuts anymore, why should I have to ask that?" She offered to see if someone else could take me, or reschedule. I walked out as the owner was walking in. I was obviously upset. Do you think she stopped me or followed me out to find out what happened? No. I went to another salon where there was the expected professionalism, and I will tell as many people about this place as possible. read more

VERONIKA!! This girl is the shit. Every haircut i have gotten from her i have absolutely loved! She listened to what i wanted and then made it better than i could have expected. I do not know how she does it, but she always adds personality to the cuts she gives me. I leave her feeling fabulous every time. Plus she is a total sweetheart and easy to chat with. If i could give this place nothing i would. I asked for a simple hair cut and i end up getting the worst hair cut of my life. My hair was uneven in the back. The layers were screwed up and over all just terrible. I had no way to hide it so i had to go to another hair dresser. Luckily a women at cappellies knows how to do hair and did the best she could. She said for as long as shes done hair she has NEVER seen someones hair as bad as mine. My hair is very thin and not hard to cut. The lady seemed to be "in a rush". I also asked her to dye my hair and she completely forgot or just didnt want to. I will not be going back there. read more

Thank the hair heavens I found Kelly!!! I have long, thick hair that I consider my pride and joy. Moving to a town where I did not know many people and going through the steps of finding the perfect stylist and colorist was a daunting task to which I was not looking forward. Not only is Kelly amazing in giving me what I want for my hair (believe me, not an easy feat), she is also a super terrific and beautiful person inside and out. A long overdue review for my girl Tiffany @ Twisted Strands! She does amazing work. I've had a mix of light brunette and blonde hair for the last 8 years and I am a dedicated customer of hers (driving even now from the bay area to get it done by her every couple of months).
