I have two stars only because Glenn and the actual movers went above and beyond!!! It has been a very stressful move otherwise! no communication from internal staff. They came a few weeks before the move and gave an estimate and looked at all that had to be moved . Around 6 pm Friday night the loaders realized they wouldn't be able to fit everything in the one truck ( moving out of state) we did not hear from any staff members until we called Monday afternoon about a solution to the rest of our load. The house was being turned over to realtor on Monday and we told them every needed to be out of house by then if that meant storing it. Needless to say 8 days later they finally got the rest of the stuff out of the house. Never updated with any information unless we called. Received final load 2 weeks later. Again actual staff packing and loading were fantastic! read more

Management did not follow rules created by WA State Utilities and Trade Commission. I was not able to reach them on the day of the move when I needed information. It added undo stress to a day already fraught with tension. Be sure to know the rules before calling any mover. It will save you time and money! read more

Absolute best! Our packers, Jayson, Chelcia, and Michelle hands down provided the best experience in my 20 years of military moves! Amazing service with plenty of moving power! This was my second move with this company, this time loading up Uhaul to relocate to Texas - I'm in Salt Lake City right now and the load is secure, 60/40 weight distribution front-loaded properly. Trailer follows straight without any sway. Administratively, coordination to my changing plans slightly were well accommodated. It had been more than 20 years since we had moved, and we dreaded it - but Allwest made it so easy. Ambrea was very helpful when we met her to get an estimate, and we could always quickly reach a real person on the phone when we had a question. We did the packing ourselves because we had hundreds of decisions to make along the way about what to keep and what to sell or give away, but when moving day came the Allwest team was on time, efficient, careful, and kind. (And mind you, all this happened in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, when we were even more stressed than usual and trying to keep physical distance.) Awful Experience. One of the employees had an accident at our parents home. The employees were good, even letting the family promptly know what had happened. BUT when contacting management about the fixing the problem, response was slow and then one manager was actually more than rude and accused our parents of making it up. Accidents happen. Rude behavior and unfounded accusations were unacceptable. read more

Hired them to try to move a large two piece bookshelf upstairs. I was able to get one part up with great difficulty. They came, tried to move the bottom half but couldn't fit it through. So we had them try to move the bottom part back down. They caused some wall damage and broke some trim off the the shelf. After several attempts, they said they couldn't do it, so was out $200 and some wall and furniture damage. Talked to the manager and he came back to try to move it with me. Sadly I wasn't able to repeat what I was able to reverse what I was able to do. We caused more damage, but I wasn't expecting to claim that, and nor did I. The manager told me someone will call me to set up an appointment for a claim to fix the damage they did earlier. The manager was part of the two man crew who tried the first attempt and knew all the spots they damaged. The experience really goes downhill after that. It wasn't as simple as it was told to me. They actually send a letter where you fill out and mail back. After that, they call to set up an appointment for an inspection. Then Stacy came by, annotated where the damage they caused was. She seemed very clear on what damage was caused later with me and their manager. A week later, I get a letter in the mail saying that since more damage was done, we are denied repairs. I didn't move it alone, I moved it with one of their managers. We both were very clear where the damage they did before were. He also told me that they would take care of it after the second failed attempt. I tried calling Stacy for two days leaving a message. She simply replied with an email saying all correspondence after a claim decision is made has to be done written. While I was a little disappointed they couldn't move the top part back down, I don't hold it too much against the company. I also appreciate the manager coming back out to help move it with me on attempt 2. But with Stacy and the poor claims process which went very differently than what the manager told me, I would not recommend this company if you value your property. read more

Long story, but I am the youngest of three and had to choose a moving company for my parents. This company was really great. The sales person showed up and was very attentive to my parent's needs. The actual workers were really polite and professional. Moving parents is very difficult, but this company really did go beyond expectations. For example, the only thing that was broken was a candlestick that I packed, even the owner of the company was available by phone and did not ask any questions and just did more than the right thing. If you are the youngest and your siblings force you to be in this position, I highly recommend this company. read more

I lived in and HOA... the military moved us. They dwhere later for the appointment like. The president came to our house since they had NOONE else available! I gave him my gate card and he was told... that you CAN NOT GO IN THROUGH THE FRONT GATE BECAUSE OF WEIGHT LIMITS!! He said they where a where of this. They work our here often!! I have since received a $500 fine for this and and I am being told they where not aware of this!! I am writing a letter to the military and letting them know! Not to mention what they "took.. yes took one thing was a ladder... yes we let them us it,an we,don't have record of it!! There are other things also missing! Laptops. I work here for a year and absolutely loved the experience. If you want a job that is physically demanding and character building this is the job for you. Be prepared to have a wide array of stories by the time you leave, as well as the confidence in you physical standing. I did this for a little over a year and enjoyed it. It wasn't always the easiest job, but which one is? I actually worked here with a reconstructed shoulder and it has never felt better. What started out as a good experience ended up being less than acceptable . Although this is not a short review, I think it's important to give the background and be fair. We moved twice, the first experience was AMAZING. Ambrea was very helpful and always on top of everything and answered my many questions. We scheduled for a move from Oly to Longview Wa. As bad luck would have it, we had to move twice, the closing on our new house didn't work out with the closing on the house we were selling. So we had All West come to our house and load and move our belongings to their Storage. That experience was amazing, the movers were really good, on time, hard working and we were happy overall. We finally had a moving date to our new home, so a month later they were going to move our items from their storage to the new house. The day before they were supposed to come, they asked if it was ok to deliver our tractor a day later than the other stuff, (Saturday instead of Friday ) they didn't have a truck available?? I thought that was odd, they knew we were moving way in advance, why didn't they have a truck. I reluctantly agreed although we were hoping to have the Tractor delivered the same day as the rest of the stuff, so we could start a project early Saturday. We had contractors lined up to do work based on us being able to use the tractor Saturday. Friday morning comes and around 730 am (they were supposed to be there around 9 am ). We were told they had problems with the truck, the lights weren't working and they couldn't drive it that way. I asked if it could get fixed so we could still get our stuff. We had made arrangements for my husband to take time off work and rearrange things. He said they would do their best to try to get it fixed but it may not happen. As it turns off they didn't get it fixed. So they said our stuff would be delivered Saturday, they would be there around 9 am. Saturday came and at 10 am they showed up, in a semi truck with our stuff. After many attempts they determined they couldn't drive it down the lane. We asked if they could call someone to bring another truck so they could move the stuff. Or someone could call Uhaul to rent a truck. The staff responded that wasn't an option, they would have to move our stuff by hand truck...they said this isn't the first time management didn't look up the location prior to realize a semi wasn't going to fit. We were in disbelief this was "the plan". The road to the house was about 100 yards from where they had to park the truck and it was down hill. My husband and I couldn't stand by and watch them try to move our 7 crates of items with a hand truck... They would be there all night. As a result, we offered to use our truck and trailer and ranger to load up and help them move the items. So, my husband and I and the 3 movers loaded the back of the truck and ranger and the trailer. Although the movers did most of the packing and unpacking we helped, we couldn't believe the management doesn't have a back up plan in place for them. We truly feel not only is this unacceptable to us as the customer but it sets the employees up for failure not to mention the safety risk is increased by unloading items off the semi to the vehicles then moving it again. At one point our neighbor had to wait to get out of the road because the truck was blocking the road.. We contacted management asking for some sort of a discount because we had to use our vehicles and help them unload. We were basically told they already gave us a discount because we actually booked the move in their off season and it's cheaper, now it's the prime season and it costs more. In the email response they sent explained in detail their moving process, how they are held by strict guidelines because they move military and in fact they are called out last minute all over the country to accommodate changes with the military move regardless of what's scheduled so that's why they sent a semi truck instead of a truck that would have been able to drive down the road. She also reminded us that they took our roll top desk that wouldn't fit through the door of our office to discard and normally they charge $169.00 for that but she didn't.(. BTW, we asked the movers if they wanted it, could they take it. He said yes.. He did not say, yes however we have to charge or we would of said don't take it we will get rid of it.) Not once in the final email did she apologize that we had to use our vehicles and help them move, she just pointed out their policies .... SO, yes the front end of the move was great however after we see how they treat their customers and employees we are not satisfied with the experience. For them to not acknowledge the inconvenience to us just shows their bread and butter is with military moves and contracts not everyday moves for regular customers. We used Allwest twice for a two-stage move from Lake Cushman to Olympia. The crew each time (4 people; 2 of them were the same both times - it was nice to have people who already knew their way around) was professional and took great care with our belongings. They worked quickly and were able to easily move things that my husband and I would have been unable to budge ourselves! The first move was in a torrential downpour and nothing got wet. No items were broken or damaged in either move. We did our own packing so I can't comment on that service. The estimates were accurate and we felt the price was reasonable. These guys were great! Had them move my sister's entire house this weekend. Half of it went to storage cause she's downsizing and the other stuff went to her new place in Tacoma. This is definitely a company I will never use again. What should have been a fairly inexpensive and easy move became an expensive nightmare. I moved from a 1300 square ft home in Lacey to Shelton. I did a lot of the packing days before they arrived and purchased several boxes and bubble wrap which they used (I continued packing while they were working). Originally, the quote was a little over $1000 for a one day move but by the time it was over, the move was $2600 for a two day move and they still didn't finish. I now have to finish the move with a uhaul to get everything they left behind (apparently, the truck was too small to fit all of my belongings) and the packing crew never finished so the house was not ready when the actual movers arrived. Once I started to unpack, I found several boxes with more packing paper then items and since I pay for the boxes and time, this cost me a great deal of money and annoyance. The only bright spot of the move were the three men who did the actual move (Steve, Ula, and Eddy). They were cheerful in the morning and were still cheerful by the time they quit. I cannot stress strongly enough that this is a company to avoid. read more
