We bought a car through Ally financial with a credit score of 720 and the charge us a intrest rate of 11.5 % after that we went back to the dealer because they made a mistake on the contract which cost the 10,755 refund. Ally made the experience of applying for a loan with them so difficult we finally gave up. We sent them pay stubs, tax returns, utility bills, and they kept asking for more & more...we felt like " What's going on here?!!" And the weird part is, I had done a loan with them before that we paid off in 2019 and I thought they were so great, I talked my wife into trying them again. They made her blue in the face and all this after we were "Pre Approved" and your "Loan has been accepted!...but we need, another this, and another that..." After a week of this, we finally gave up. I can dig thorough background checks etc...but we own our house outright, have good credit scores and are previous customers, and we just wanted to refinance my current truck payment of $435 a month from Wescom (which I've paid consistently for 4 years) over to Ally at $287 a month.... a payment which would be super easy to pay. I don't get it. I think the red tape gets in the way of being able to see the simplicity of a straight forward open shut client. It's like going to the doctor and he looks at the clipboard and tells you "Everything looks great!" But doesn't actually look at you and recognize how you are actually feeling. Terrible experience with this company. I had a lease with this company for 4 years never missed a payment. When I turned the lease in payments were done.They then sent me a bill for a dent in the door which was never there and a cleaning fee over $600 worth of charges. They then proceed to apply on my credit a "charge off" remark as if I don't pay my bills even though I never missed a payment. Ally financial is the worst place to go to finance for a auto loan. I got the payoff from their web and sent it in. But because they said that they did not get it in their office until 2 days after the payoff date even though the post office delivered it 2 days before they sent back saying it was short instead of applying it to the loan. And then when I resent my payment they lost one of my 2 checks even though they were in the same envelope. They later found that they had wrongly applied it to someone else's account. But it took several days for them to find there scew up. Every time I have called them I get the run around. It is both frustrating and a bunch of horseshit to have to to put up with being treated like this by any bank. Ally financial has been nothing but an inhuman, insensitive, greedy company to me and my mother. The dealership at west Herr ford is just as much to blame for allowing this loan to be made. I was a newly graduate nurse I needed a reliable vehicle. My mother was willing to co-sign to help me get into a better more newer and reliable car, as she had great credit and thought it would help me by co-signing. However, we both were unemployed at the time. I need the car the get to work and starting making money now that I was a nurse. The dealership told me it was a 2022 Kia sportage (only a year old, very low miles) and I asked about the Kia's being stolen and said "no it's safe" the dealership told me the "2022's have the new anti theft software so it wasn't possible to be stolen" and they added a steering wheel lock to make it feel safer. I was a bit naive. I was in a rush I needed a car to start working. Payments $567!!!! For two NOT WORKING WOMAN! You would think it was a Mercedes Benz for that amount!! 84 month term. High interest. My mother and I not knowing much about cars or purchasing it the dealer went through everything very fast and we were out of there. I was excited to at least for the first time have a new car but looking back now it was all so wrong and shouldn't have been done by dealer and loan company ally. WHY CHARGE LOWER INCOME PEOPLE HIGHER AND RICH PEOPLE LOWER? it doesn't make sense. My Kia was stolen a year later and then again another year later- each time I take a hit I go without a car, and I have to pay $1000 deductible and rental fees!!! The stress of walking out and ur car is gone is bad. The stress of not knowing when it will be returned is scary. The invasion of privacy my children's stuff touched and taken my information on registration taken the Invasion of privacy is HORRID. Does ally care? NO. does Kia care? NO . She purposely took every call of mine to harass me about my address and would not take my confirmation number of payment verification that I was told to call back with to cancel out the repossession. Another time they came and actually took it and didn't call after so I didn't know if It was stolen or repossessed, and I needed to know bc I have to make police report if stolen. Whenever I called to tell them my financial hardship or situation they never offer any help or assistance. They call CONSTANTLY and harass my mother and me NONSTOP. It's not productive and it's harassment to be honest. They have done everything in their power to make things harder. Not easy to make payments, when it's repoed they lock ur online account and won't take payment over phone you have to money gram or western union it, but you can't do that on the app if it's over $2000 and you have to get around to store and bank all with NO CAR. I was in the hospital for 10 days, out of work, they cut me no slack and threatened to take care and called me NON STOP all while I was going through a scary situation in the hospital. Again, insensitive, money hungry, sharks who care about nothing more than money and even customer service has no human compassion which you should have in that kind of work, especially when you know your going to be dealing with families who have children and not everyone is a bad person or liar, or doesn't like to pay their bills. The only remedy is to let it be repo'd and not have a trade in. Worst customer service, when you call you can't understand the person on the other end. I recently refinanced my car, and my new lienholder sent a check to pay off my loan. I had tracking updates showing when they received and even opened the check, yet they deliberately waited weeks to deposit it. Meanwhile, I kept calling daily, asking why they hadn't processed it, and they gave me no real answers. Then, finally they deposited the check into my account on January 7, they charged me over $800 in fees - just for 2025!( for 7 days) On top of that, I was supposed to receive an overpayment refund of $3,800, but after all their mysterious "fees," I'm only getting $800 back. It feels like they intentionally delayed depositing the check to squeeze extra money out of me. This kind of shady practice is unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Terrible customer service over the phone, I spent 6+ months trying to change my automatic billing amount because my payment had increased when I moved states. Over the 6+ months I spoke with 3 different customer service reps that all stated they could not help me and I should do it myself online. I tried, their online platform for billing is so convoluted for both the web page and the app that I spent all 6+ months paying an additional $3.75 surcharge for making a second, and sometimes even a third, payment each month as well as accruing late fees associated with my inability to change my own auto pay. I've had a very frustrating experience with Ally's customer service. For over a year, I made consistent monthly payments through their app without issue. After filing for bankruptcy in March (this account wasn't included), I was no longer able to make payments through Ally's site--something I wasn't informed about. Because of that, I missed a payment while switching to my bank's bill pay system. Since then, I've paid monthly, but Ally repeatedly claimed they weren't receiving payments--even though they were clearly withdrawn from my account. I had to send multiple emails with proof and contact support several times before they finally applied the missing payments. Then the same issue happened again. Now they say I'm two payments behind, which isn't true. When I try to explain, I'm cut off, told there are no records, and offered no help. One rep even hung up on me after I used a swear word out of frustration--not directed at them personally. I found that reaction extreme and unprofessional. I also asked to change my due date to better match my payment schedule but was told I couldn't because I'm "behind"--even though the payment was already made. A recent chat with a representative was especially uncomfortable. I asked for clarification before agreeing to an extension, but the rep kept repeating "Do you agree, yes or no?" without explaining the terms. After I asked for details about the cost and impact, the chat was abruptly ended without resolution. Update on my previous review. After weeks of being told, "7 to 10 business days," my account was finally credited the amount of my insurance payout. This was over the amount owed. I then tried to get some confirmation of a break down the the reallocations listed in my account activity. After 3 separate people in the loss department I was told my online account screen at home shows more information than their work screen. If I could give a 0 star, I would. They lie, don't do what they say will, takes extra payments and refuses to refund. My total interest balance is MORE than the total of my principal balance (less than 6 months with Ally). They hide the total interest rate on the website. I messaged to get clarification, got told to call. I call and asked my balance and they said what my principal was. I noticed they conveniently left out my interest balance paid. So I had to specifically ask that, otherwise the representative would not have told me. Always ask for your principal, interest, and grand total balance. They charge 12.69% DAILY with $9.01 going towards interest only DAILY. They like to keep things muddy so you don't get a full picture of your loan. read more

This company is horrible. I lost my wife January the first. She had purchased a vehicle from this company. When she passed I as the husband called them several times to let them know and sent in a Death Certificate as I sent the Death Certificate in and told them that she had passed away. They continue to want to get paid off of her vehicle. Time after time I've called to let them know that she's passed away. I talked to several agents, and they instructed me that they had the decitivity, get, and that in times somebody would contact me. I talked to an agent who gave me all the information I needed and told me that they would come and get the car and not be like a thief in the night when they come and get the car. They would set up a time to get the keys and take the car. Well, that was a lie. They came like a thief in the night and pulled the car out of my driveway and left tower tracks 3 days later. I get a letter in the mail saying that I owe x. Amount of money and i would have to call the tow lot to pay them first in order for me to pay them off to get the car. Now, before all of this happened, I called them to let them know that I would pay off the car. And they automatically went into collections. So at that point I said, I'm not going to pay off the car and I'm not going to give this company any of this money because they don't deserve it, right? They are horribleThe way to handle this whole situation. So whoever reads this good luck, I would not deal with this company. I took out a car loan in November of 2019 and PAID IT OFF on 2/13/2020, after which ALLY SENT ME THE TITLE (which only happens AFTER YOU PAY THE LOAN OFF!) Then 4 years and 8 mos. later out of the blue, I get an email saying that I missed a payment, which I did not. I'm not paying them $163 or ten cents. They reported me to the credit bureaus thinking I'd pay, and I still did not, because I don't owe them A DIME. I've written, I've faxed, I've called, but they still think they're getting money from me. Not happening. Paid for a truck for 6 years and never missed a payment. I have been calling them for 5 months about the title. I have had a lot of different ways they have told me to obtain it. None have worked. I just had to pay $70 for a duplicate as I never even had a first title. I am beyond mad and hope to never do business with them again. Never again! While moving from AK to AZ, our shipper told us we needed a letter from our loan provider to ship our 2025 vehicle. I contacted Ally, but they said we needed a letter from AZ DMV instead. I contacted Ally again and explained we were just moving to another state, but they repeatedly asked if this was a military move, which it was not. Then Ally asked for a personal reference outside the US, even though we are not moving internationally. When we gave them a US reference and our departure date, they kept asking for an end date or return date--even after I explained multiple times that we are permanently relocating and not returning to AK. Because we cannot provide a return date, Ally refused to give us the approval letter for shipping our vehicle. My main complaint is that Ally doesn't seem to understand or accommodate a straightforward move within the US and repeatedly asks for irrelevant information, making the process incredibly frustrating. read more

They have no way of getting your payoff amount without fees and make a fraudulent claim of cash withdrawal from a credit card. They have no customer service that can help do anything.
