I was really terrified all my life of plastic surgery and when I was researching doctors it was…read moreeven worse because every time I spoke to an office I always felt like an agenda was being pushed or these crazy unbelievable results were being heavily pushed towards me. Offices were spam calling me back daily or bombarding me with emails like ad agencies lol. Or that typical tiktok "this doctor has THIS special technique" which felt sooo gimmicky and fake. I never felt like I really got to see PS doctors as medical providers and get to speak to them without the shiny Beverly Hills facade. Plastic surgery does have this trendy side.. i get it. But it is still a very big medical procedure and I really felt like I just couldn't trust a lot of these flashy doctors I'd spoken to... I lost around 40 lbs and I always dreamed of fixing my lower pooch area - my case is a little odd because I haven't had kids yet and am relatively lean - I was looking for a really refined result. AND zero BS. just tell me what's possible and what's not. Dr. Kim didn't take a crazy consultation fee. I didn't wait months for a consultation. He didn't try to sell me anything. His office looks and works like an actual (clean and beautiful) medical office. I never waited for my appointments. During my consultation, he gave me plenty of time to ask questions and voice my concerns. I didn't feel like I was being spoken down to or being sold a used car. Finally felt like I'm speaking with a doctor who can actually lay out to me exactly what to expect moving forward, the downsides and upsides of my options, and what was and wasn't possible. Nothing was downplayed or overexaggerated. I had never had surgery before and so I really wasn't ready to have a big procedure like a tummy tuck. I asked if there was a more conservative option for my loose skin/pooch - we settled on a mini tuck with lipo to remove a large portion of my problem area - with the door always open for a full if I ever wanted. Dr. Kim was supportive, nonjudgmental and honest about whatever decision I chose. Results - my mini TT results were BEAUTIFUL. My stubborn lower pooch was totally smoothed out - no lipo ripples or weird creases. I recovered in like 2 weeks. No infections, no broken stitches, no seromas, no hypertrophic scarring, no dead skin, just... nothing. Dr. checked in with me after surgery multiple times to make sure I was doing okay. My garment fit comfortably and I was on just tylenol by the end of day 2. My incision healed into a thin, fine line which was sooo easily covered in a bikini. Way later when I was finally ready for a full tummy tuck surgery to reach the last bits of loose skin, the ease of my decision was in large part influenced by how smooth my past experience was. I trusted I was in good hands, and I was right. AGAIN, the entire procedure despite being a WAY bigger one, was just as smooth as the first time. Drains were easy. Stitches dissolved easily. The new incision is exactly where we planned for it to be - thin, and very very low and replaced my older scar. I entrusted Dr Kim to decide whether muscle repair was needed or not - he said he will if needed, since we're already in there let's make it perfect! I am snatched lol :'D my belly button looks so cute with a little hood, it looks natural and lovely. I'm around 3 weeks out and my incision is already so clean and healing very well. At this point, I can say I have a very good idea of how Dr Kim's office works, the pre op, surgery, the follow up, as well as healing/recovery. All the girls remember me, they make scheduling extremely easy, are fun to talk to, and before and after my operation my nurse really made me feel safe, cared for, and at ease. I was given all instructions and medications promptly and on time, as well as the Dr's personal number for any issues at all. Everyone has their own experiences and surgery is a big decision which can have unpredictable outcomes. But for me, choosing Dr. kim (twice) was the best decision I made for myself. Thank you Dr Kim and team :')

All the other doctors were booked out two weeks and had layers upon layers of bureaucracy, but Dr. Raffi's practice is "concierge" and made an appointment for me at the end of his day so I ran to Beverly Hills. His appointment cost was only 25 dollars more than my local doctors and I didn't have to wait. After several vocal tests and inspection, found I hadn't lost my voice but had a "lesion" on my vocal cord! He stuck all the cameras and the scopes all around my throat and through my nose and everything until I saw a freaking PICTURE of this thing in the screen. Soon we scheduled the surgery, and I am recovering as we speak (no pun intended). His staff is pretty cool and very accommodating, and Brandon, his scheduler is pretty cool and always dresses nice. The nurses are kind and prompt as well. I had a question once and tried to call outside operating hours and Dr. Raffi even called me on his personal cell phone promptly afterwards. I don't think one can expect much better than this...

Now with that said let me begin with the staff, I actually went to the Long Beach location for all my appointments, his staff there was amazing and made feel so welcoming and helped with each and every step of the process so shout out to Jolieen, the girls in the front and Keri-Ann (Dietitian). I am glad to say I am almost 100lbs down after the surgery. They gave me great advice before and after the surgery on how to maintain my progress which has become second nature now. Their practice was phenomenal no complains. On my first appointment Dr.Niam explained to me my options what he believed would work with my life style and went through what each procedure looks like during surgery. After surgery he came to check up on made sure I was okay and I was out the next day and each day has been better than the next so if he is reading this I just want to say Thank You! I just want to add if your looking at this review searching for a doctor I highly recommend this man, I can even admit I have a little bit of loose skin happening so I will be returning to him for a tube up on that little issue! If your nervous do not worry about it I am confident his team will help with any concerns you may have!!!! (Also sorry for the most recent picture I'm still getting use to taking pictures, I actually had stopped because of my insecurities).

I don't recommend driving yourself to your appointment read below why). MiraDry treatments can cost anywhere from $1450-$3000 depending what office and high demand in the area. The customer service: The front office kept me informed and up to date. She explained and sent me documents via text prior to my office visit. I appreciate that extra step in connecting with me and sending photos of what to expect, pre-op/post-op instructions. The treatment: Dr. and the nurse that helped me we great. First they numb the area with lidocaine, using a 5 needle method one in every quadrant. It wasn't that painful since the needles are really thin and the numbing happens immediately. While numbing, it sometimes hits the nerves that connect to the forearm and hands. (In my case, I felt that happen after the procedure) Once the numbing is done, the nurse went ahead and mapped out the area with a temporary tattoo to measure where she will perform the procedure. Then she proceeded to explain the sensations to expect before starting the procedure. First you feel a tugging or sucking of the skin, then heat and then cool. It happens all in 10 seconds. She does this twice in each line and gradually makes her way down. For me, it wasn't as painful overall. I only felt pain when the machine passed near the breast area, the nurse says perhaps while numbing it didn't get the area. But I didn't mind since it's only for few seconds. The whole procedure lasted apx. 1 hour. 30 mins numbing and 30+ mins for MiraDry treatment. Post-op: the nurse handed me ice packs and suggested keeping them under my arms for 20 increments to prevent freezer burn. After the procedure I felt like the anesthetic spread through to my forearms, my wrist and my pinky and ring finger. It's a similar feeling of when your leg falls asleep with tingling sensations. With rubbery arms, I was glad that I didn't drive. The ice packs and swelling would have made it hard to turn the wheel. Post-op FIRST NIGHT: I was very numb and didn't feel much pain and minimal swelling and some discoloring. Post-op SECOND NIGHT: The numbing starting wearing off, I started feeling pain and a lot of swelling and some bruising. Post-op THIRD DAY: No more numbing, arms feel heavy and sore, bruising looks to be going away, still swollen.

There has been a major change and I can't wait for my full recovery and new look. I also want to suggest the massages with Luz. She is very knowledgeable about what she does and I feel so at ease going with her through this process.

Picture this: a disc replacement at C-6 and 7 became my immediate quest, as I was in such excruciating pain that moving my neck felt like I was auditioning for the role of a non-flexible robot. Now, disc replacement surgery at the time was the new kid on the block in the US, strutting down the medical runway with its shiny new potential. Lumbar spine, though? Not so much on the VIP list yet. And fusion? Oh, I'd heard the tales of woe and stiffness - a motley crew of friends still in agony or moving like vintage robots post-fusion had me saying, "Thanks, but no thanks." So, there I was, waiting in the wings, pain as my constant companion, for years, dreaming of the day when lumbar disc replacement would hit the mainstream. And let me tell you, the idea of doctors rummaging around the front of my torso gave me the heebie-jeebies - like, serious "Are you sure you don't need a map?" vibes. But then, as the pain crescendoed to a level of unbearable that had me contemplating a career as a human pretzel, I embarked on a quest to find the Merlin of spine surgery. Enter Dr. Khurana - a wizard, a magician, a veritable rock star of the OR. Initially, he was like, "Hmm, your disc has left the building, and we're talking bone-on-bone - wanna see the MRI to prove it? Might have to go the fusion route, but let's give it a whirl." D-Day arrived, and guess what? Dr. Khurana pulled off the impossible with the panache of a maestro conducting a symphony - no fusion, just pure, unadulterated surgical genius. His team? Angels in scrubs, each more caring and considerate than the last. And Dr. Khurana? A man so passionate about his craft, he could probably perform surgery with his eyes closed (not that he did, mind you - just saying, he's that good). Sure, a year later and I'm still on nodding terms with some residual pain, but it's nothing - a mere whisper compared to the cacophony of agony I endured for years. So here's to Dr. Khurana and his crew - the rock stars of the medical world, who gave me back a semblance of normalcy and taught me that, sometimes, the best fairy tales don't involve princes or dragons, but gifted surgeons with the power to change lives.

I never once felt pressured or intimidated into moving forward. Once I agreed to the surgery his team took care of everything. Each team member has a role and they all excel at communication. There was not one surprise or miscommunication. The surgical facility itself is top notch, super clean and the team of nurses are compassionate and experienced. They took such great care of me following my surgery. Once home and on my own I had checkins from the post-op coordinator and Dr. Khurana himself calling to check on me. Each day of recovery is better than the day before, which is far and away better than how I was prior to this surgery. I cannot recommend Dr. Khurana any higher, he is a first class surgeon!

Dr. Brody's is located in the new Culver Medical Plaza in Culver City, office space is nice clean, and the front desk staff are wonderful. During my consultation Dr. Brody was very thorough with his explanation of the procedure; even drawing out a diagram for visibility and answered all my questions/concerns. He does not do both feet at the same time, so do not go in with this expectation that you can have it this way, you will need one foot to help you get around to do the most basic functions, why any would want to have both feet in a CAM boot at the same time for 6-8 weeks is unimaginable to me, so this was not an issue for me and speaks to how Dr. Brody has your best intentions at hand. For the amount of money, I was investing in this procedure, I was prepared to follow all the required post-surgery directions for the best results, so I moved forward with the procedure. I had my first bunionectomy on the right foot in March 2022 and second bunionectomy on the left foot in November 2022, depending on your recovering you can schedule the second one sooner, this was based on my recovery plan and not wanting to be in a boot in the summer and completing my physical therapy sessions to be strong enough to hold my weight on the post- surgery foot in preparation for the second surgery. A year later for both procedures and I am beyond happy with the results of having my feet in a normal position and pain free, I couldn't have asked for a better doctor to have performed this surgery for me. Once I completely recovered, I also invested in custom orthotics that Dr. Brody fitted me for, this have been a game changer in helping with my alignment and stability as I work to undo years of a bad walking form. I recommend Dr. Brody for all of your podiatry needs!
