I went to see Dr Silvers for a bunion on my left foot. It had reached the point of hindering all of my activities. After examining my x rays Dr Silvers explained to me in great detail what was ahead for me without doing anything. Pretty much more pain. After researching all of my options ..this was pretty much it. I elected to have him perform the lapiplasty procedure on my foot. I felt very comfortable having him do this. Throughout the entire process, every question I asked was answered. I am now 16 mos post op. Prior to the procedure I could not walk more than 20 mins. Now..I can go for miles. Prior to procedure...i was out of spin class..the pain was crawling up my foot..ankle..mid calf. Now... im in that class for the duration. I can walk 18 holes of golf without a problem. Its not perfect..yet..I have mild swelling now after running...but its getting better and better over time. (And frankly speaking...im probably hard on it) When ive seen Dr Silver post op he always takes an xray and explains to me what he looks for in my foot (bone alignment and hardware). My 100-year-old mom had an appt. with Dr. Silver this morning at 11. He'd done a great job setting her up with orthopedic shoe inserts a decade ago but she'd been having trouble walking and we wanted to see if an adjustment could help. Because she'd forgotten to wear her proper walking shoes we were running behind schedule and called to let them know we might be 15 minutes late. They said that was okay. After making our way through a labyrinthine parking structure we made it to Dr. Silver's office at 11:10, only to be told that the doctor would not see us because we were late. We tried to appeal that decision but Dr. Silvers said that this was his method of doing business and there was no exception. That a hundred-year-old woman had gone through a lot of trouble to meet with him had no effect on his decision. Visiting his office was a tremendous waste of time and effort. There may be medical expertise in this office, but don't expect flexibility or empathy. read more

I was referred to Dr. Silvers by my Podiatrist Dr. Singer from UCLA for a toe fungus issue. My doctor knew I was trying to avoid taking the strong anti-fungal meds & offered me an alternative laser treatment provided by Dr. Silvers. Dr. Silvers offers the best price for this type of treatment. He was informative, kind and provided expert care & recommendations based on research. He had to debride the affected part of the nail prior to the laser which was basically painless. This doctor is definitely a seasoned Podiatrist. I tried a traditional bunion removal surgery 12 years ago from another Podiatrist but it wasn't a permanent solution. Since my initial review, I received a phone call and letter from Dr Silvers, apologizing on his receptionist's behalf. He also submitted more paperwork to the insurance company and was able to reimburse me the $200 for the orthotic appliance that my insurance said would be covered. Susie, another office manager was assisting me and she was beyond kind and helpful. Lapiplasty was the best way to correct my foot and fix the pain that I was in. Every follow up has been a pleasure with the Doctor, very professional and easy going. Ok, here is an update since my last review and over 6 mos post surgery. My foot is still swollen, painful and my big toe cannot even begin to bend unless i manipulate it with my hand. Also my big toe which he said he cut and secured with only one stitch is now firmly smashing up against my second toe . The only purpose of the surgery was to remove this pressure on the second toe. Failure While I expected Dr. Silvers to perform a one-bone cut lapiplasty as advertised on his website, I woke to a painful throbbing toe which he not only cut but shaved in addition to cutting the long bone at the mid-foot. cut the bone in 3 places leaving my foot burning, throbbing and itching due to his choosing to ignore the fact that i indicated i was allergic to tape on the surgical intake form and loaded my foot with tape. It's nice to see some positive reviews on his site. When I asked him why Dr. Baravarian and Dr. Soomeck had such positive reviews, he said they both paid $10,000 a month for social media management. Curious that now he has some positive surgical reviews. , It was my great mistake to have not trusted those reviews or at least checked in with them about the claims of Dr. Silvers. -- it was my own lack of discernment that made me pass on these docs along with trusting Dr. Silvers' claim that after seeing and doing everything during his 45 years of practice he only did the lapiplasty now. My biggest medical mistake. btw, i discovered along the way that the lapiplasty is not anything radically new. Doctors have been cutting and repositioning the long bone for 40 years. The lapiplasty from what i now understand provides new tools to do that. If you're looking for an orthopedist Dr. Thoradsen of Cedars also has an amazing reputation. Having had several surgeries over the years, I am acutely aware of the factors that can contribute to a good overall experience, during what has the potential to be a stressful circumstance. I was fortunate enough to have been directed to Dr. Silvers and could not be more grateful for the referral. I have had 3 surgeries performed by Dr Silvers: 2 bunion surgeries and another bone correction. From start to finish, my experience was that of outstanding care. Every aspect of the procedures were discussed with me in detail and he was patient in answering my long list of questions. He explained the details and timelines I could expect for the recovery process, which were all subsequently spot on. When I took it upon myself to "rush" the urge to get back into high heels too soon, he graciously - and with kind humor towards my foolish urge - reminded me of the appropriate care in order to obtain a good result. His aftercare was as wonderful as the pre-care, seeing me through each phase of the recoveries. I have fully recovered from each of the surgeries, with stellar results. It was something I had put off for too long, and am now thrilled to have pain-free feet and can enjoy wearing any shoes that strike my fancy now! I'm quite puzzled by the poor review below; none of it reflects anything remotely close to my experience with any of the 3 surgeries Dr. Silvers performed on me, nor does it represent any of my interactions with him both prior to and following the procedures. So I really liked this doctor. Ugh, I had this weird plantar wart on the bottom of my foot. And like every normal person, I looked at everything I could find on YouTube to cure plantar warts. I tried tea tree oil, banana peels with minced garlic, I tried to ignore it, I tried Compound W, and some wart freezing kit from Dr. Scholl's, I tried duct tape and every other cockamamie snake oil I could find and surprise of all surprises....none of them worked. As a matter of fact, this demon on the bottom of my foot just kept getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger and bigger. Not only did it grow by leaps and bounds, it started hurting...and bad. So what's a girl to do, I ponder. Wait, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks...don't normal people go to podiatrists for these kinds of things? So I find Dr. Silvers and they were able to squeeze me in the same day. He was great - he was informative, light-hearted and only laughed at me a little bit when I told him about my bonehead cures for my plantar warts. He explained in great detail my options, I made a decision and he executed it with skill. The sad part is that it takes a while for these things to die. I am sure this Doctor has performed many successful surgeries. He operated on two Hammer toes I had three years ago. He positively ruined one of them. I have been in pain Or discomfort for three years and it has affected my other leg and hip greatly. Unless you are in screaming pain do not have your hammer toes operated on and if you Do I do not recommend this Doctor. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. The sad part is that Dr. Silvers seems to be a nice guy. Unfortunately his office staff in horrible. Let me start by saying I went Dr. Silvers for an issue with my foot, he took x-rays and decided that I needed surgery. He also ordered a new pair of orthotics. When the orthotics arrived they were flimsy and uncomfortable. You would think that I would head back into office, but by this time I received a bill for over $5000 dollars. I was so surprised to find out that this doctor was not in network for my insurance. I called my insurance and submitted a grievance, a month later it was granted. They paid the doctor for all the charges, except for the ones that they said he charged for that were over and above what was normal. In fact, they used the term "extreme" when they spoke of his billing practices. Somehow there was still a balance due, to end this relationship amicably I paid the balance. Thinking I was done, I then received another bill for about $70 dollars. I called the office and explained to them the situation. I spoke with a lady name Sulma (sp?) she told me she would look into and get back to me. Two weeks later I received a bill from a collection agency for the same amount. At that time I called the doctors office and spoke with Adora(sp?) and she said that it was my responsibility and there was nothing that she could do. Needless to say, I paid the bill in full, could not damage my credit for this idiocy. The reason why I have (sp?) next to the names in this review is because when I called to let them know that I would write this review and I wanted to get the names right, Adora(sp?) refused to give me any information. Dr. Silvers treated me and my non verbal developmentally disabled horribly. I paid him for 2 office visits to see my daughter- one in June and the other @ 4 months later. But when I called about a month after the second visit to report that his prescribed treatment didn't seem to be successful, he very coldly told me "I don't get paid for phone calls." read more
