My first meeting with them was very educational and they took a lot more time explaining my options with me than the other two doctors I had consulted with. They were very friendly and did not try to "sell" me on any kind of procedure. After choosing to go with them I scheduled my surgery and they did the rest! The process was very smooth and they assured me every step of the way. It has now been almost a year since I had the procedure completed and my vision is better than 20/20! I cannot believe I waited so long to get the Lasik Eye Surgery completed. Laser eye surgery was something that I had always wanted to do but was too nervous to let anybody mess with them. Side streets, which I used once are just dandy. This happened soon after cateract surgery. I also need a lot of eye drops, which I didnt before surgery. And also when I come in from outside to inside, but not as bad. I had to wait 1.5 hours to be seen. This was only once on a previous time. . The check up and after was another 1.5 hours. I rarely drive. only in dire necessity about 0 to 5 miles a month. My friend drives me. Parking is limited. Going back today. Hope is is a good experience, - always cordial staff. On my child's second visit with Dr. Thomas, after his vision screening, we sat down with Tabby the Optician. When we were finished with her making adjustments to the glasses she said we were good to go. I asked her If we needed to stop and make a payment, she said "no you're good to go," as she walked us out. After I walked out the front door, and was half way to my car, one of the front desk staff came chasing me down and said I forgot to make a payment, and needed to go back in and make one. As you can imagine this was very embarrassing for me. Before my child's third visit he happened to lose his glasses. I notified the office that I needed to buy a new pair of frames and needed to cancel our appointment. They instructed me to bring the frames into the office after I purchased them, as they would need to take some measurements for lenses. We had prepaid for 6 months worth of lenses at the start of treatment for the original frames, so I was unsure how the transition to the new frames would work. After buying the new frames, I took them in and Tabby took my child and I back to take measurements. She made a comment that they didn't prefer the glasses with the half frame around the lenses. Well, they never made that specification before I bought the frames. I was under the impression that I needed to leave the frames there so they could fit the new lenses. She never told me otherwise nor did she specifically hand the glasses back to me and tell me to take them. About a week and a half later I received a call to inform me that the glasses were ready. When I entered the office with my child, I was running a few mins behind, which I had called prior to let them know. I made a comment "I'm sorry I'm late." Tabby, who was behind the receptionist, stood up and was very passive aggressive asking me "Do you have the frames?" I looked at her and said "Uh, I left the frames with you last time I came in. Your office called and told me they were ready for pick-up." She said "Oh, I'm just so used to asking that," then as she walked to the back she said to the receptionist "Did you see the concern in her eyes" and giggled. You would think she would know before hand why her next Pt. is coming in and have more regard for her patients. We pay a lot of money to this office for our child's treatment. Insurance does not cover it. You would think the staff would be more courteous and respectful to their customers. Staff should take the time to explain their process and answer questions rather than make snarky remarks. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
