They quickly assessed the damage, made sure they had the parts we needed, and repaired our trailer. We have used this place to repair our Rv for a great many years and have always been very impressed and satisfied. After our visit last week, we will NEVER return. We called in late August and we were given an appointment to drop off on 9/10 with a promised return date of 9/17, as we were leaving on a trip on 9/18. We needed an oil change and general safety road-worthy check together with the repair of the generator and door step. We were told that the repairs to generator and step may not happen due to possible replacement of parts, but that the oil change and tire pressure check, etc would be no problem. As of 9/15, we had not received any word about progress, estimates, etc so we called to check. We were told again that we could pick it up AFTER the oil change on 9/17. On 9/17, we called again and were told it had not been completed and would not be! The worst part about this whole ordeal is that they never even bothered to give us the opportunity to take it elsewhere, knowing that we needed it on 9/17 as our trip was beginning on 9/18. The woman at the front desk is the most rude individual that I have ever dealt with. We ended up with the owner of the shop calling us to profusely apologize. Appreciate his apology, however, it did not solve our problem. They have lost a long standing Customer forever! I would not recommend this business! read more

We don't expect white-glove service from an RV repair shop, all we care about is that the job is done correctly and on time. Unfortunately, this shop failed at both, and the consequences could have been deadly. We brought in our mobile surgery RV to have the air conditioning system repaired. They told us to rush the vehicle there so they could get started right away. We made it clear from day one that we needed the RV on Mondays for our clinic days, and they acknowledged and agreed to that timeline. We were told the AC would be fixed in a single day, that the part was on its way and would arrive promptly. Instead, the part was delayed with no updates, and the repair dragged on with no clear timeline. In the meantime, we also asked them to check the brakes and suspension. The RV was left sitting there, again, nothing was done. We had to bring it back multiple times, each time hoping for progress, but left with no answers and no work completed. And then the worst part: when we finally got the RV back, not only was the rooftop AC unit still broken, but it had been left completely unsecured, something we didn't discover until after we had driven in on the freeway multiple times and notice it shifted. Had it fallen, it could have caused a serious accident or killed someone. They also left exposed live wires in the cabin. Because we perform surgery in this van and carry oxygen onboard, this created a massive fire risk. It was more than just poor service -- it was negligence. Yes, we should have double-checked their work. But is it unreasonable to expect that when a vehicle is returned to us by a professional repair shop, it's at least safe to drive? When we went back to the shop to address our concerns, the owner, Chris, showed no remorse and inconvenienced by us declining further service. He didn't apologize or acknowledge the risks we had been exposed to. Instead, he was bothered that we no longer trusted them to continue the work. He made sure to charge us for the time they spent diagnosing the RV, despite delivering it in an unsafe condition and not completing any of the work we originally requested. We can overlook poor customer service. But we cannot overlook negligence, especially when lives are on the line. We strongly urge anyone, particularly those using their RVs for professional or medical purposes, to think twice before trusting this shop with your vehicle. read more

I had such high hopes for Almaden RV and happy to support local business, but my experience turned into a frustrating ordeal. On 12/29/25, I reached out for a replacement remote for my RV awning. The customer service was fantastic at first, I received a call back within 10 minutes to say they'd ordered the part. I was thrilled! However, I was surprised that they hadn't checked with me before placing the order. Still, I thought, "They found the part, found it fast, and it will be ready by tomorrow!" That's where the positivity ended. When the kit arrived and I took it home on 12/30/25, it was clear it was not compatible with my specific awning variant. I called back to ask if they could confirm compatibility with the manufacturer. Instead of assistance, I was told I'd have to wait for the person who initially helped me. It felt like a letdown. Why couldn't anyone just step in to help? I was told I'd get a call after New Year's. That call never came. I understand the holidays can be busy, but it felt like my issue was forgotten. I finally got through to the original helper, who was cordial but disappeared after promising to reach out to the manufacturer. Looking for answers, I contacted the manufacturer myself and learned that the remote was completely incompatible. They suggested I return it, which added to my growing frustration. When I called Almaden RV again, hoping for resolution, I just met more barriers. A different staff member told me they couldn't help either, and would need my original contact's input. I've never had an experience where no one could support you but your original contact. What's the point of having multiple people on staff if they can only help you if they spoke to you first? The lack of support was so disappointing after what began as a promising interaction. Everyone at Almaden RV was genuinely nice, but the lack of communication, unclear return policies, and broken promises left me feeling abandoned post sale. I'm planning to try to return the part, but honestly, with two weeks into the new year, I feel like I'm likely to take the loss and never come back to Almaden RV again. As much as I wanted to support a local mom-and-pop business, I feel like my trust was misplaced. I'll be looking elsewhere for my future needs and can't say I'll be recommending this establishment to anyone. read more

I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Safety issues: Paid to fix carriage bolts, all they did was tighten, not even all the way because the bolt is bent hence why I took to get repaired? The nuts should sit flat on the washer and one thread able be protruding. $600 for a bumper, clearly they use untrained technicians. They didn't even apply corrosion protection and they didn't protect insulation so both sides are burned above the weld joints. The worst part is they didn't even tell me. I found it after I noticed the temporary tape they use to cover it was hanging. For all customers. Please inspect your repairs. This shops takes short cuts cheats safety items. read more

Just had a successful job completed on my Lance camper. Unfortunately, Lance built the camper around the refrigerator so it doesn't fit through the door. They ended up removing the door frame and cutting the wood frame a little to replace the fridge. It came out very nice, looks like original. They didn't install trim mold on the front cap. both side of the front cap were half caulked and water was definitely going to get into it. I don't believe that this place deserves 4 stars. The last time I was there, I requested that they fix the right (passenger side) tail light which wasn't working. Instead they fixed the left (driver's side) tail light which had been functioning normally. They almost got away with it before I realized the error. When I brought it to their attention, the idiot told me, "You don't know from your left from your right." I never went back again. I still have the receipt which says "replace right tail light." WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A SHOP EVER. Took my travel trailer for an extended warranty fix for a cable to be replaced on my slide out that was shredding. Chose this place because it was the closest to me and had good rating on yelp. Taking in the my trailer and telling them what I needed was the only quick and easy thing of this whole ordeal. After about 4 days they called me to tell me they look at my trailer and that I needed 3 cables to be replaced instead. I told them to go ahead and fix it since it's all covered by warranty. NEVER in this conversation did we talk about money, how long the work will take. The only thing I told him was that I needed my trailer back before 2 weeks for my planned trip coming up. He told me no problem it will be fast they had the parts in stock. After about another 4 days, I called and was told the work is done but he's waiting for the extended warranty to pay him. I asked to pick my trailer up the next day since the work was done, and he said no problem I just will need to leave my credit card info so he can charge it after the warranty company pays the invoice. I show up the next day to get my trailer back. I was told the warranty company sucks they have not paid him yet. I asked if I can pay my $100 dollar deductible and take my trailer now. Then he told me only if I pay the whole invoice and deal with the warranty company to get my money back. I asked how much he said $1600. I'm starting to see that he doesn't want to give me trailer back at this point until he gets paid. He gave me the number for the warranty company to call to ask them myself. I did and found out that they never received an invoice from almaden rv, and once they do they will pay them instantly even over the phone. I went back to Chris and told him to send the invoice and he would get paid and I can take my trailer now. Now is when I found out the REAL problem. Almaden RV sent in an invoice for 8 hours of labor and parts. The warranty underwriter goes by national standard times to fix specific parts on trailers. Told almaden RV before the work started 4 hours is what the warranty covers. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED that they worked 8 hours knowingly that they are only getting paid for 4 from warranty. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE OTHER 4 HOURS IN ORDER FOR THEM TO GIVE ME MY KEYS BACK.! I felt helpless. I spent 2 hours arguing with Chris and the warranty company just trying to get my trailer back. I don't see how I get stuck with the bill because the shop took longer then what they are paid for WITHOUT ANY PRIOR NOTIFICATION to me, or a do you want us to do the work phone call, knowing it's going to take longer then 4hours and I'm going to have to pay the difference. It was totaly unacceptable the way that they never communicated to me the issues they were having woth time or money before the start of work. I ended up having to pay the $900 ransom to take get my trailer off there lot. I FELT VERY UPSET AND CHEATED BY THIS SHOP. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK AND TELL ALL MY RV GROUP NOT TO TAKE THERE RIGS HERE. I called my rv dealership where I bought my trailer just to ask them how long it would take them to fix the three cables. They replied 4 hours max. 1 hour per cable, 1 hour for assemble and adjustments. They would have it back to me the next day. I told them what happen to me at Almaden rv. they told me there are bad shops out there that can charge what ever they want and have the customer get stuck with the bill to get there rig back. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else because it felt terrible and I lost a lot of money that I wasn't planning to spend because it's covered by warranty. WORST EVER!!! Be warned. Chris the owner is the king of double-think, excuses, rudeness and flat-out lies. Visit this place if you like having the door slammed in your face. Our Pleasure Way van's water tanks were damaged and needed repairs. His 'couple of weeks' estimate became more than three-months, spanning our entire summer vacation time. And that was after a three-week wait for an appointment. We called again and again for updates; excuses were 'our technician is on a month's paternity leave', or 'we're short staffed' or 'it was a short week.' After two months we heard 'you're 13th in line,' and 'everyone wants their vehicle back right away!' You can read all about Almaden RV's atrocious 'service' in the multitude of one-star reviews, some saying -10 stars would be more accurate. And as many have said, the work was incomplete (or wrong, or bad, or created more problems), which we only discovered because the sensors said the water tanks were full (instead of at zero). Chris emphatically insisted 'There's absolutely no water in the tanks! You didn't pay us for sensor repairs.' So I decided to drain the tanks myself in Almaden RV's driveway, and a LOT of water gushed out. The sensors NOW were at zero. 'But that was fresh water!' Chris now inexplicably proclaimed. Doing this however, led us to discover the 3" water-tank drain pipe had been relocated way back under the van, and was unreachable without much struggle, plus the cap was missing. He DID order and replace that part, but had been more than happy to let us discover the problem at home later. So we had to return a second time to pick up the van, wasting half a day, and feeling distressed and annoyed. He also charged our insurance company for SIXTEEN HOURS of work at $190/hour; could these repairs possibly have taken two full work days? AND the van's engine was fine the first time we came for pickup, but now it mysteriously had a dead battery! We feel so glad to finally see that place in our rear-view mirror. We are grateful that Chris's way of life is his own punishment, and happening in his completely shade-less shop in 105-degree weather. What's so hard to understand tho is WHY someone would want to run their business in such a shoddy and contemptible way. Do yourself a gigantic favor and stay away from any possible similar nightmare experience! The paucity of other choices has allowed him to treat customers badly for almost 40 years. But anywhere else IS worth seeking out. read more

Long story short, My Toyota RV was towed here by AAA insurance for a damage assesment walk over with Stephanie. As i was able to remove my personal property at this time, i did not think leaving my installed stereo would mysteriously end up missing, as i noticed the day of pickup. Interesting that Brendan L. In the latest  review got his trailer fixed in one week. I took my Rv to Almaden on March 8 and when I called about three weeks later for a status check I was told by staff that it was almost ready to come into the garage.  In other words it had not been touched yet. Shortly after I was told my noisy toilet would need to be replaced and it cost $1195 plus $300 labor and my water pump that surged would also need to be replaced and it would be $264 plus $160 labor. Those two items were done but I had a very important weekend planned with my motor home  so March 29th I picked it up, used it for the weekend and returned it to finish one other item. Much to my surprise the new toilet and water pump were behaving just like the old parts were doing. I returned the RV and made clear I needed it finished by May 8 two months after dropping it off on March 8. Well I had to cancel my plans for the week of May 8-15 because it was still not fixed. When I finally picked it up on May 14 the owner explained that the water pump they installed was defective and caused the new toilet to be noisy. That is interesting because if the pump made the old toilet noisy then maybe all I needed was a pump in the first place?  No mention was made of fixing it either and the parts are inexpensive. I also asked him to explain why the toilet is a "macerator" when it looks like the toilet just opens and contents just drop into the tank. He assured me it is a macerator. I paid the bill and left 65  days after I dropped it off.  A couple of days later I googled the Thetford Aria Deluxe 2 toilet and the Thetford site sent me to Camping World who sells it for not $1195 but $695. IT IS NOT A MACERATOR TOILET. I was lied to. Then I looked at the water pump installed.  I was billed $264 for s 5.3  gallon per minute Surflo but what do you know it is a 3.0 GPM Surflo that sells for $63 on Amazon. 65 DAYS AND I WAS RIPPED OFF. Regarding the 65 days the  owner said "stuff happens."  Sometimes stuff happens but in this case they just put other people ahead of me which makes me ask what are appointments for? They never touched it for the first  three weeks.  Bottom line they put a lot of people ahead of me. There were other annoyances but this is already long. I won't be back. read more

Their communication was very fast and clear using email and phone calls to get the process approved by insurance. Their friendly attitude helped us work together including a conference call with our insurance adjuster to streamline the process. I had great hopes when I ordered an awning in November. I left a $500 deposit. When February arrived, but the awning hadn't, I called and cancelled the order and was promised a refund. I cannot blame Almaden for the awning company's lack of responsiveness, but after two weeks and no refund, I called to discover it had not yet even been initiated. Admittedly, the delay hasn't caused me to miss any meals, but it has cost Almaden any future business from me. I am disappointed because I really liked the folks with whom I dealt. My caution to others would best be summed up by former President Reagan, "Trust, but verify." (Note: After hearing back from the owner, I added a star. I went to Almaden because bill told me it was no issue to fit me in. I made them aware several times that I was leaving on a trip. Chris was my service advisor and made up excuses that they were waiting on equalizers. Well equalizers finally showed and they didn't perform the work they were supposed to. Last weekend, we noticed a ceiling vent had broken into pieces when we went to clean the roof. We called Almaden RV for help to replace the vent cover. JD told us the first appointment available was in December. As we expressed to JD we obviously cannot wait until December with the weather. JD said I could replace it myself easily, no I cannot climb onto the roof due to my age. JD took my info as he would talk to Chris about fitting us in and call us back. Four days later, JD never called back. Since Fall 2019 we have spent approximately $15,000 on RV repairs/upgrades with Almaden RV which means nothing to them as a returning customer. It hurts to give a bad review to a family business but they cannot treat customer in bad faith! Chris is nice at first and providing decent quote, but as they were not able to finish the job, Chris spoke with both side of his mouth saying "he will make me happy and finish the job" but never did, dragging the issue for months and eventually calling me dishonest without ever taking the time to review the issue before we talk. Almaden RV did a decent job on repairing my van and released it with number of quality issues that I notified right away verbally and by email. After bringing back the van couple of times the van still have the issues, some very basic (misaligned cabinets that don't close properly, shart screw tips popping out of cabinets (because they used the wrong screws: too long!). The results is below par, like an average DYI job. But this is not the issue because I believe any problem can be solved with common sense and good faith. and good faith is missing here! They miss-evaluate the initial estimate and requested additional payment twice to the insurance that they covered. (missing that the cabinetry had to be removed to repair the van body seems basic. Duh!...). They cannot re-align the cabinetry that now look crooked. A brand new conversion now looks like a DYI job! The worse was showing up for an appointment with Chris, and his staff apparently did not informed him and he didn't have time to see me. (Each trip there takes me a half day off work). He asked to bring back the van yet a 4th time and "that they will fix everything and make me happy". I just had to take a appointments with his staff... at the end of the line 8-12 weeks later. To later tell me that it was too late I waited too long after release and the job was finished and they would not work on it anymore. It's impossible to have a constructive discussion with Chris as he will always find an excuse, contradict himself, and totally ignore any previous discussion do not seems to car about the technical issue itself. The solution was simple : ask for extension to the insurance... Simple. But he is a proud bully, that cannot listen his customer. He declined to communicate his quality chart and his mediation body, so we are going to small court. What a waste of time! read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with "ANY" company in my life. Horrible communication. Rarely would they get back to a inquiry of a week before. My insurance has paid their company out and I have a incomplete job. I was told my 5th wheel was done so I left early and got to their shop around 8:00am. As I walked up to my RV I could see 50 ft away that the job wasn't complete. I've been without my home for over 2 months, then to get it back inhabitable! So I show Chris the things he said were done, but we're clearly not. He says he'll get someone on it but he's only one man?! It being that my wife and I are full timers I brought my dog thinking I was just hooking up and leaving. WRONG ! After hrs of trying to fix all issues on the spot and clearing out my fridge and freezer, besides my truck running the whole time because it was hot and needed the dog to be ok with the AC on. I finally just cut my losses and want to get out of there. This was our home, and I thought I was picking it up in better condition than it ever was. We just wanted to get back into our own space again. I specifically told them I was full time in our 5th wheel when I left it with them 2 months earlier. I even showed them how to turn on and off my solar panels and batteries if they needed to. I Told Stephanie if it was in the shop for any extended period of time then they should hook up a 110 orange cord up to it. 2 months later my 5th wheel smelt like death! I was told they would of wrote it down on the front sheet of our first visit, not to turn the solar off. I'm sorry I didn't know I should of recorded or videoed our first visit. Chris the owner covered his butt and at one point called me a liar for pointing out the oil stains in the middle of my living room carpet. Then he said he was going to get someone with a Ozone machine and did not, nor did he call me back "as usual." My toilets had been used, why might I know that. Well the water pump wasn't on when the last person who flushed left dried up toilet paper on the bottom of my toilet. So I finally hook up to leave and my automatic folding stairs witch were part of the insurance claim won't close all the way and are out 6 inches from my door. We spend more time messing with this to no avail. Chris says he'll call the manufactures on Monday and order parts. So I leave with a inhabitable mess, but at this point can't have these people messing with and defiling or home anymore. 2 weeks later Chris calls and we get into it because I'm still waiting on parts for my stairs. They have costed me so much time and money and wonder why I'm having no trust or confidence in their ability or Workmanship. Now Chris hangs up on me for pointing out clear and just frustration. The staff here are so accommodating and easy to communicate with. They helped me with all the towing and stability related issues I was having with my food truck, and were extremely knowledgeable. When we had a slight issue with the hitch they installed, they stood by their work and fixed the problem right away.
