Brought my Sprinter van in because air conditioner wasn't working. When I arrived the mechanic asked me where my cord was to plug into shore power. He finally found one. He confirmed air conditioning wasn't working. I was charged $150 diagnose charge for that. He told me he would get back to me at end of day with what's going on. No call back. Next morning he calls at 9am and doesn't know what the problem is and needs two more hours to figure it out. That's a $150 an hour. I drove there and picked my van up. I can tell this guy didn't know anything about the new BM pro modules in newer rv's. I ended up fixing it myself by updating the firmware. read more

RV Restore and Repair Review, 16885 Joleen Way, Morgan Hill Ca 95037 DON'T GO TO THIS REPAIR SHOP! Everything they worked on had to be repaired and replaced and some of the work created other problems requiring more repairs. Just about a year ago we bought a 1998 popup tent trailer. When the cable to lift the tent broke and we took it to RV Restore and Repair in Morgan Hill on March 4, 2020. We asked them to diagnose and repair the refrigerator. By June 12th we picked up the rig "all fixed". They replaced the cable, the wench motor, and had to weld the motor bracket. They replaced the converter and determined the refrigerator worked. With a bill of almost $3K we were assured everything was repaired. Our first trip out and the refrigerator did not work; plus electrical on half the rig and the heater no longer worked. The area around the converter was exceptionally hot. We took the rig to Bay Area RV Parts & Service in Gilroy. They found that the refrigerator had a bad board and needed replacement. The converter had been replaced with the wrong item and was rigged up to work but some of the wires were left disconnected. There was a broken wire causing half the rig to have no electrical. When the wench motor was replaced or the welding work was done two gas leaks were created on the propane tank. The screws for the wench cover were so badly stripped it was left flapping. Subsequent trips to the Bay Area RV Parts & Service uncovered wiring was done wrong. Fortunately they got everything working correctly, did maintenance on all the appliances and replaced all the caulking as well. While preparing for a trip the next weekend the wench cable snapped with the top partially closed! The rig went back to Bay Area RV to repair the last item RV Restore and Repair touched instead of going out on our last trip of the season. Bay Area RV has been reliable, affordable and very knowledgeable. They have been very thorough helping us diagnose all the problems and keeping us informed of all the steps taken to diagnose the rig. The people there have made a point to be onsite to review the work done and help us understand how to maintain the rig. They've done more work and fixed everything that was "fixed" before at less than the cost RV Restore & Repair charged. I waited two weeks to get an appointment at the shop and they were very professional on the phone so I felt good about my choice. When I brought my RV to them we went over the list of issues that I wanted repaired and they estimated the amount of time They felt they would need to devote to each issue. It was clear that some of them would take considerably more time to repair, but some of the issues were very minor and I had assumed that those issues would be handled in the amount of time allocated. When I went in to pick up the RV, I went through the estimate they had prepared and noticed that absolutely nothing had been repaired by them. They spent all of the time, $900 worth of time, simply preparing estimates on the repair cost for each individual item. It's true they did spend some time looking for parts and getting information but I gave them $900 and got nothing for my money. One of the problems was 110 V outlet which wasn't functioning since the exterior of the RV had been pressure washed. I had been unable to find a fuse box, so I asked them to look at that problem. That was the only problem but they resolved, they found a GFCI circuit in the bathroom and pushed the button and the outlet worked again. They charged me $75 just to do that, a task which could've been done by anybody in less than two minutes time. I argued with the owner of the company and his attitude was very uncompromising and he was unwilling to negotiate even a dime. I do not suggest taking your RV to this place unless the only thing you want is an estimate, and be prepared to pay dearly for it. read more

Im surprised this place is still in business. If you want a real RV repair shop go to Leales at 2070 south 7th in San Jose. Savio is very honest and a hard worker. I bought my RV to RV restore and disrepair two times to have repairs done and will never go back again. Both times they did not do the repairs properly. Replaced drivers side window and could not even put all the screws back in? Have pics posted on google map. Replaced tracks for bunkbed now bed in back does not go up and down. His workers in shop can not be certified mechanics.. People have told me the guys that do the mobile RV repair are better. Unprofessional, No Ethics, and no morals whatsoever John! read more

Showed him what the problem was and he removed one part of the flushing system he said most likely the flush valve had gone bad and needed to be replaced, As it was Friday afternoon he indicated he could have one Monday. Since I could not stay till Monday he gave me all the pertinent info so I could get the proper one. Also how to install the new one. Several days later and this being on my mind I was convinced that it was just clogged and not broken, so when I had some down time I secured the water supply and than removed the valve,sure enough the screen leading into the valve was clogged with minerals that nothing was getting by. Any knowledgeable mobile repairman Should have known to check this and would have checked this since he already had part on the system removed, it took me about 5 minutes or less to remove the valve. I may have given him two stars except for what he did he charged almost $200.00 read more

We called to make an appointment to replace two propane valves on our small RV. The day before the appointment, they called to confirm. My husband and I then drove 100 miles round trip each (one in the RV, one in a car to be able to drive home while we left the RV there for repair). When we arrived, the technician took one look at the issue, and told us they don't do propane valve work. We asked why they made a reservation for out repair if they don't work on propane valves, given we were explicit with them as to what we needed. He told us "the receptionist doesn't have a technical understanding of these things." What a huge waste of our time; we both took a day off work to drive out there, which could have been avoided if they had been up front about not working on propane valves. I really can't understand why these reviews aren't all five star. I brought my 2001 discovery in right before the Coronavirus shutdown. I asked them to install carpeting that I had purchased. Not only did they do an incredible job with that but they also installed a new toilet, blinds and slideout motor. They didn't complain about using mostly parts that I have supplied. They even ordered some trim pieces for me to complete my wallpaper project. Who does that anymore? Not only were their price is reasonable, but they finished in the middle of a pandemic and delivered my RV to me safely. Skip camping world and give these guys a shot. read more

We have had a few Rvs over the years. We went to Tim's shop a few times several years ago. They really try and get you in, depending how urgent the situation is. Recently, with a newer 5th wheel and several years later, we had their mobile service come to a storage yard in San Martin, nearby. John was on time and he got to the point. A slide out that wouldn't in go in flush. It was a brain problem and it needed the slide out to be reset. Yay that was fixed. Then we didn't quite understand why our auto leveling wasn't working right, it was never "homed" and it was upset about that. He read up on this in our manual and spoke with Lippert directly (who are awesome with any troubleshooting, so patient). Anyways after a bit of do this and that it was fixed and I feel confidant touching it now. John is a straight forward tech, let's get it fixed. They are lucky to have him. Off he went after a real work for real pay deal. Was happy with the bill. read more

We had RV R&R do a complete pre-purchase inspection today for a class-A '04 Damon Daybreak 3270 chassis & home and they did a phenomenal job! They went through the whole thing from head to toe with a huge checklist. They replaced fuses and topped fluid levels and made sure everything was running good. They provided an itemized list of needed repairs and pointed out those which were urgent. No pressure, super informative, and knowledgeable! We will definitely return to RV R&R! Worst customer service and incompetent business. I have called RV Restore and Repair for a service call because I found that they earned a very good feedback from Yelp. Unfortunately, the positive reviews did not sustain as expected. My family stayed at Coyote Creek RV Park for our yearly XMAS holiday and we had heating problems with our 2004 Monaco RV. I have called for a service call because Coyote Creek RV Park had recommended RV Restore and Repair for outside service call. Tim responded to our request and he was very accommodating and had scheduled a technician to check the problem immediately as temperatures will be below 30's in the next 2 days. I flagged my request as an emergency and urgent as I have 2 toddlers with us and heating is much needed. We have waited for 4 hours and no call or no sign of a tech. I called Tim again asking where is his technician and Tim bluntly told me that he forgot with no remorse and promised to send a technician the next day. Luckily we had portable heaters from Walmart to survive the night. Technician (Joe) arrives the next day, inspects the heating system and he said he has no tools to fix the problem. I did not want to ruin the mode of XMAS so I did not bother to call RV Restore and Repair back because it just simply unprofessional, hopeless, and incompetent business. read more

HORRIBLE experience! After calling and screening this company to make sure they did a THOROUGH "pre-purchase" inspection type of service, I made an appointment long before our planned Arizona trip. Knew the temps would be 110+ so wanted to make sure AC, Generator, and all inside appliances worked as they should. We are brand new to RV ownership and this was the first experience taking it in for any kind of service or inspection. I requested, several times, for a list of items that were inspected/tested/checked for normal working conditions. Wasn't given the list until after I paid and came to pick up the RV. (2008 Sightseer Motorhome). Was emailed a short minor list of recommended items to have repairs made on. The first item was already something we were aware of and asked to have them order and replace. Pop-out rubber stripping underneath the pop-out. Other items they SUPPOSEDLY checked were the AC unit which they had trouble running both at the same time. (Which they never stated could be generator related), but suggested replacing the AC unit itself as it was "intermittent". * ONLY a scribbled note at the bottom of the inspection sheet that I asked for a copy of did I notice they found a "rats nest" inside the generator cabinet, but that they blew it out and were able to "jiggle wires around for a good connection" and the generator to work properly, citing NO issues with generator working correctly. After paying a large amount for this inspection, we were told it was in great shape. When I came to pick it up, all workers were leaving, including owner, Tim (15 minutes early) so, of course, nobody there to speak with, or ask questions who worked on the coach. The office staff is very polite, however, put you on hold to get Tim to answer most all questions you have. Tim is very busy so communication was not the best, but he DID call us back and talk about recommendations. What could be put off, etc. Nothing was mentioned about Generator or AC not working in combination with generator. Nothing about not getting a charge from engine to generator. Fast forward two weeks later for our trip we are packing and my husband noticed that when he lowered and leveled out the RV that the jacks were lifting it so that the front tires were almost 2 feet off of the ground. Called Tim, say, "Oh that's normal if you're not on a level surface" (what's the purpose of "leveling jacks" if they don't level the coach out when not on an exactly level surface?) Instructed us to only use the manual setting. Okay, again I ask then, "why have auto-leveling" Literally the tires were so far off the ground the spring on the leveling jack looked like it would bust at any moment. Upon further investigation of the leveling jacks, my husband notices that not only is the jack completely BENT, but also has a huge crack. "How could they have missed this? I asked. Called Tim, again he says that wasn't there when we inspected it, everything checked out fine. * WRONG AGAIN. We never even used the jacks until that time. Adding insult to injury: WE HAD NO AC DURING THE ENTIRE DRIVE BOTH TO AND FROM ARIZONA in 110 degree heat! The generator was not charging the generator to have AC during the drive. Absolutely miserable experience. The AC in the cab was warm, due to the heat outside being so hot, so temps in the Motorhome was 102-105 I KID YOU NOT, worst trip ever! I texted Tim's cell # the details of what we were experiencing. He asked us to do a few troubleshooting things that didn't work. After literally pulling over at any and everyplace we could find to help us from Blythe all the way to Arizona, we finally just bared the heat in misery and decided to hurry up and get to our destination so that we could plug into power for the AC to work. This was the WORST CASE SCENARIO we were trying to avoid by having RV Restore and Repair inspect our RV PRIOR TO THE TRIP. The best he could offer was saying, "bring it in" when you get home. Seriously? I THINK NOT! Would NOT recommend. Will travel many more miles to take it to a service repair place that is reputable, reliable and thorough, anywhere but there. My thoughts are that the great reviews are local friends in the community because after our experience, there's no way. read more

We purchased a 2016 5th wheel from Southern California that developed a landing gear problem, where it would retract over time under its own weight. The manufacturer suggested we find a repair facility locally if we didn't want to drive back down to So. Cal. After multiple phone calls to local rv repair facilities, Tim at RV Restore and Repair said he'd take a look at it. This being an intermittent problem, we left it with him for 2 weeks at no charge. Of course, it did not fail so we brought it back home. A week later it failed so back we took it to Tim. Tim and his team worked with the manufacturer over a period of months to locate the problem. Called to complain and requested a refund. Was told the fee was a diagnostic fee. What?!?!?!? Diagnostic fee!?!?!? Anyone could see the leaky fitting with their plain eyes. Tim is the motorhome savior! We had a hard to diagnose, hard to fix, hard to install lift jack problem on our 38' Motorhome. Not only did they get it right in the end and were persistent in getting it right, they went beyond the call of duty to get it done. Not only were they good in the repair end - the dogged persistance they used in getting our extended warranty folks to pony up was outstanding. Our toilet water valve failed on Friday of Labor Day weekend causing the toilet bowl to fill and overflow. A service tech arrived within an hour of my call, made the repairs, and was gone within a half hour of arrival. They are a service oriented company, for sure. read more
