Free outdoor and covered parking are available. And I saw luxury apartments within the same lot. Nowadays that's the going theme... good compact living space with conveniently located shopping, dining, and entertainment within walking distance. That's my kind of place one day! Her manager Stacey was also extremely friendly and supportive, helping us reduce some of the switching costs and making the whole transition smooth. We also love the amenities -- the clubhouse is great for work and studying, the heated pool and jacuzzi are wonderful, and the gym is well equipped. The community here is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend working with Cindy and Stacey. This is truly one of the best locations in Alhambra and offers great value.

Despite reporting these incidents, there has been little communication or resolution. The property's cleanliness is also concerning. Dog waste is frequently left in common areas, and some residents leave trash outside their doors, creating unpleasant odors throughout the hallways. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves communication, security, and maintenance for current and future residents.

Not to mention their billing is astronomically high as well -- they charge you for water, trash, sewer, pest control (what pest control? I never see anyone do anything, and I work from home. The plants outside literally have white mites all over them), admin fee, and a service fee just to pay the bill not even using credit card. That's a full $50 extra charges. Plus a parking space fee $35, and if you have a pet, $50 per pet per month. Since I have two cats, that's $185 extra per month! This place is a money drain. The water has gone out more than TEN TIMES since I've been here, even shut off in the middle of taking a shower, no explanation why or when it will come back. I try to call the management for answers and THEY TURNED THE PHONE OFF goes straight to voicemail! never returned my call! Then I had to spend the whole day listening to guys hammering and drilling pipes the wall in my bathroom to fix a burst water main. I have been woken up more days than I can count by construction guys doing work 7am-5pm - hammering, drilling, sawing, talking & laughing loudly, using heavy machinery, using leaf blowers outside your window, scraping ladders on the floor - you literally cannot get any peace and quiet at this place. Constantly since I moved in there is always some guys working on the building or tearing apart some unit that someone moved out of, and it's noisy as F*** here. Get no prior notice that they have to paint my door and they show up 8am on a Saturday morning saying I need to leave my door open for a whole hour out of nowhere. The management has not been great since I've been here. When I moved in, there was a gas leak smell coming from the kitchen stove. I asked the manager to come check it out and he told me to send a video... of a gas smell LOL. He is gone now, but since then we have gone through 2 other managers. One of them would throw my problem back at me with a vague explanation and no follow through, and the other straight up ignored all my messages. Laundry room is gross and machines are old/run down. I see random crusty people come in from the street during the weekday afternoon to do their laundry there when no one will notice. One of the dryers became broken and every time someone used it it would make a horrible screeching noise. I asked maintenance to fix it and they said the machine wasn't theirs and they had to put in a work order for all of them bc they didn't know which machine it was -- dude, all you have to do is go in there and take a look.. I ended up putting in a work order with the company instead and luckily they came out and fixed it that week. Altogether this place sucks. It could be good but REMM group really overcharges and managers doesn't seem to care to take care of this property nor do they seem to care about you at all. Seriously stay away from this place unless you want to drain your money away. Unfortunate.

Nearby lots of Shopping Montebello shopping center, costco and many Alhambra shopping places. Issues are very diligently addressed all the time. I lived there almost 18 months. I would give high rating mainly due to the Manager (Ernest Haley) and his support person (Joey Catalano) of the property, both are very kind and reachable all the time (I mean literally after office hours also). I highly recommend this apartment to anyone seeking to lease a new home. As long as these guys are there you can live there happily with out any worries. Both are warm, giving building management a human face. I would love to see him train others in this profession and can envision him working for a huge real estate investment company, supervising many employees.

The people who work in the office are always extremely friendly and helpful. The building has its own cleaning and maintenance crews. Everyone does a wonderful job!! The building is in a lovely neighborhood in South Pasadena. I can walk to the library, the senior center, Trader Joe's, and numerous restaurants and coffee shops. I really don't need to drive anywhere. The other residents who live here are also very nice and friendly. I have made friends here. My grandchildren love coming here and playing at my apartment. I highly recommend Golden Oaks Apartments! It is wonderful in every way!!!

When we asked for PROOF--photos, invoices, ANYTHING--they said they DO NOT NEED ANY PROOF TO CHARGE US, after we repeatedly asking, they said they will provide WITH COURTESY and would take 7-10 business days to provide it. But at the same time, they threatened us with a tight deadline to pay within 10 days or FACE COLLECTIONS. They tried to force us to pay without giving us any evidence and pressured us with an unfair timeline. After doing some research, I found out this company has a BAD REPUTATION for OVERCHARGING UNREASONABLE MOVE-OUT FEES and SENDING ACCOUNTS TO COLLECTIONS without proper communication. It's no surprise they pulled the same tactics on us. They clearly don't care about honest tenants--they just want to steal money by inventing damages and rushing you into paying. We're fighting back and won't let these greedy, dishonest people get away with it. If you value your money and sanity, STAY FAR AWAY from AVALON.

Management is also very prompt and respectful of residents' privacy, even around shared spaces like the grill areas, pool and gym. Unfortunately, we are near an area where there's occasionally a lot of loitering and suspicious activity, so I definitely recommend not leaving personal belongings in your car or outside. My kids' bike was recently stolen because I left it out overnight. There is security walking around 24/7, but being in LA, thieves move fast.. so just stay vigilant like you would anywhere else in the city. But ever since they hired security, it hasn't been a problem for the last two years. They even added locks to the dumpsters to prevent dumpster diving and from having people stay in there overnight. She has brought some calm and order along with a family vibe to the complex I feel because she understands us that have children and how important it is to live in peace and a decent apartment. Hoping all can remain as is if not better. It is refreshing and rare to have management make an effort to make sure and clarify when things need fixing or improved in our unit and follow up that all went well. Grounds are kept up, the little updates made to our unit help in the quality of living for my family and myself. Having decent, mature, professional and ethical management makes a world of difference.

There are elderly residents in this building who physically cannot climb multiple flights of stairs. There are only two elevators in the building, and somehow both are broken at the same time. How does that even happen? It's like owning two cars and having both unusable simultaneously. People always ask why I stay here. The truth is the location is extremely convenient, so I put up with a lot. That doesn't mean I'm not going to complain about serious issues like this. I also noticed that, out of all the apartment complexes listed on Yelp in the area, this one has some of the lowest ratings -- and for many different reasons.
