Good gelato, pistachio flavor actually tasted like pistachio and had bits of nut inside. 4.50 flex dollars for a 4 oz cup

What can…read moreyou say when you walk in here and folks are speaking Italian and welcoming you with tasty samples of homemade gelato?! Oh, it's legit! And, you can't tell me it's not because honestly, I can taste it. I kind of felt my face go numb after I had my first sample. Gelato just can't be this good... it just can't! The last time that I had a foodgasm from gelato was a couple years back when I had it in St. Augustine. Now that there's one so close to home, I feel like I might start having seizures from eating it. Have I ever had gelato this creamy? I honestly can't even think right now. My brain is too busy replaying the love affair that I had with their banana coconut and Trepalle di panna earlier today. The flavors, oh the flavors! So many good ones and such a nice variety on deck. They usually have about 10 different flavors available and they rotate a few of them out about once to twice per week. The texture is unbelievable. It's like someone has been churning this creaminess all day and night long. That might be quite possible given the fact that this gelato is produced by a father and son team and made from scratch. Yep, it takes two to create this delicious phenomenon and only one Shayla to eat and enjoy the hell out of it. $4 will get you a hefty scoop of some of the most delicious gelato that you may very well have ever had in your life. I wish I could suggest a few delicious flavors to try, but practically every flavor here is amazing. Plus, they rotate them quite often, so there are always new flavors to try. It's like Christmas but these gifts of flavors are here all year around! Trepalle, I'm looking forward to your permanent stay!

It's a good place for a laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant is fast casual. When you enter, you can look at the menu and place your order. It's pretty much self-serve aside from them bringing your food. With that said, the limited interactions we had were pretty mediocre. What's fun is that it's a build-your-own spot. You choose your own pasta and sauce. They also have items such as sandwiches and salads. My best friend and I got the same thing--Rigatoni with Bolognese. I opted for no cheese on top. The pasta was al dente, but I definitely wish there had been a bit more sauce on the meat. The portion was decent for the price, but I do feel like I could make this at home. So if I come back, I'd opt for something else. The Italian Homemade Company has a few locations throughout the Bay Area. This one-off College Ave. is great for a quick pasta pick-me-up. You can find street parking in the area.

I won a Bad Walters gift card in a white elephant exchange. I was initially fighting for artisanal…read moreolive oil but decided to let my uncles have it. They own an apartment in Paris and I didn't want to offend them with my usual guerrilla tactics. I'm known to fight dirty and conspire with others during this game and everybody hates me because of it, and I didn't want to be banned from their apartment, as Paris in the fall is lovely. Thus my journey with Walter began. One thing about me, is I respect a place that knows flavors. I don't want basic vanilla, give me some weird and strange and flavorful that will tantalize my palette and ignite my senses. Give me salty and sweet. Give me TANG. Give me these things and DONT give me gas. Bad Walters cracked the code. All flavor, real dairy, no lactose, no gas. Each week they have a different batch of flavors, so there's always something new to explore. There's like 6 flavors to choose from at once and they let me try them all before I selected my choice hehe. I tried to sample 6 flavors at Cold Stone and they took me out back and shot me, but here, nobody was mean to me. Mr. Potatohead is the flavor I landed on--brown sugar custard with peanut butter swirl and chocolate covered potato chips. The chunks of chocolate covered potato chips were lodged in the ice cream and I felt like an archaeologist excavating ancient rocks as my spoon lifted the potato chocolate chunks out of the creamy custard into my mouth. I bought a pint. The Mick Jagger was another joy, with its salty caramel and Oreo chunks. They're lucky Peaches Christ was sold out because I might've lost my mind for a peach cobbler ice cream! They wouldve had to drag me out by the back of my neck like a rabid dog! Maybe next time. All in all, tasty ice cream. Would recommend.

We have been extremely loyal customers ever since. They rotate flavors, but through many months and many visits I don't think I've ever tried a bad one. The flavors are also very fun, not your typical cookies and cream, cookie dough, etc. Although they do have a plain version sometimes. The employees are very helpful and kind letting you sample the flavors. Our absolute favorite is tinky winky- ube flavored ice cream with honey comb pieces. They also sell points to the side- take advantage. You'll want more when you're done! The ambiance and vibe of bad Walter's is perfect. Bright colors, disco ball dripping, fun sayings on the cups, the whole 9 yards. The take home pint we got has Reddit "hate" comments and their responses, it's hilarious. This ice cream store is way more of a vibe than any marketing agent could dream of. Who would've thought I wish I could be a rep for an ice cream company? Oh and they also do a stamp card when you buy pints to get a free scoop. You bring in the containers so they can recycle them. It's a win win for both sides, loves it. Best ice cream ever!!!

They are friendly and welcoming upon entry and allow you to try flavors! When I came in July 2026, they had unique flavors like saffron, lavender, earl grey, and hibiscus among many others! The only issue is there's no clear menu posted online, so we walked in completely blind. Their website shows a long list of flavors but not what they actually have that day, so it felt like a guessing game. The line moved really slow because there was only one employee handling everything. She was taking orders, giving samples, answering questions, and ringing people up all at once. She was super friendly and doing her best, but it felt like a lot for one person during a rush and the shop could definitely use more help. The space is really small and tight so it was hard to even see the flavors until we got close to the front. When we finally got up there, a lot of the tubs were already empty which was confusing since most ice cream shops restock. Some flavors I wanted weren't available anymore, and if they're out it would make more sense to just remove them from display. The dirty containers didn't make sense to display. I sampled the jasmine green tea and knew right away I wanted it. It was creamy with a smooth tea flavor that wasn't overpowering. I got a small with half jasmine green tea and half avocado. The avocado was surprisingly really good, super creamy and tasted like a fresh avocado smoothie. Both flavors weren't overly sweet which I liked. My husband wanted cookies and cream but it was sold out so he got chocolate chip instead, which was solid and creamy with good texture. Overall the ice cream itself was good, not the best I've had but definitely not bad. I like that the flavors lean more natural and not overly sweet. I could see myself coming back if I'm in the area, but the experience would be a lot better with faster service and more consistency with what's actually available.
