Unassumingly unique! I was most pleased to find a geranium flavor - I've never had geranium flavored anything before, let alone ice cream! This turned out to be fresh and lightly floral, a bit reminiscent of a rose ice cream but not so perfumey. I paired it with the blueberry mint which was just as lovely; I had concocted a summer garden scoop that just about transported me away from the freezing ice age the Bay is currently going through. This spot is perfect for those who love simple and clean flavors that really shine on their own.

OMG YUM!!! Love the unique flavors of this ice cream parlor! I was so happy to see they had ROSE. Rose is probably my favorite ice cream favor but is SO SO hard to find! It tastes like smelling a bouquet of roses. Super creamy and not too sweet. Black sesame is another favorite :). I also got black sesame waffle cone! Excited to come back to try other flavors...rosemary...cardamom.. YUM

My partner and I came here for dessert and I was pleasantly surprised by our experience! We were able to try some samples and a single scoop of Geranium and Rooibos Tea. The Geranium was nice and floral, on the lighter but still sweet side. The Rooibos Tea had a nice warmth to it, it reminded me of Thai Tea with more spice. I asked the server what her favorites are and she said Orange Cashew and Rooibos, so I'm excited to try that next time. The place is small, but there is indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are a bit high compared to the serving size, but for very unique flavors, it is worth a try!

One of my preferred local ice cream spots. The flavors change regularly, so you'll always get a chance to try something new. They do limit you to tasting 2 flavors max, though I think you can't go wrong with any flavors you choose. Payment is electronic preferred (no cash) and they recently posted new hours starting May 2024. I highly recommend trying their housemade, waffle cones too. My favorite is the black sesame waffle - it adds an additionally nice layer of flavor and has the right crunch and mouthfeel to pair with the creamy ice cream. Ice creams are made well with solid ingredients. They can also make an ice cream sandwich, sundae, or root beer or cold brew float. Add toppings to your ice cream for $1.55 each (they have a taste-enhancing balsamic glaze that I recommend you try with certain flavors). You can also buy a pint for $16 to take home and savor your favorite flavor longer or share with others. This weekend I combined 2 flavors in one scoop in a black sesame waffle cone: garden delight (made with fresh cream and colorful, edible flowers!) and sage. Finished this all up before my delicious ice cream even had time to melt or drip down the cone!

Sweet Cream -- very rich and subtle! Lavender -- very prominent tasting Overall the ice cream consistency isn't as thick, it melts easily. The flavors are good and delicious! I got their small scoop which can have 2 flavors for around $6.25. Once I got my cup, the serving is really really small as pictured and it looked like the flavors are split to make one scoop.

One of my favorite ice cream shops of all time!! Highly highly recommend--the texture of the ice cream is so creamy and quality has always been consistent. Flavors change ever so often, but I enjoy whenever there are floral options like the geranium or rose. Usually there's only one person working at the counter so there can be a couple of people in line ahead of you, but worth the wait 100%!

The flavor was good. The waffle cone was delicious. But honestly I hate it when there's ice chips in my ice cream. Also pretty pricey.

Thanks to an acquaintance who told me about Caravaggio Gelato, we checked it out when a family member was visiting from out of town. We spotted the Gianduja (Hazelnut & Chocolate) later, and it will be on the list for the next visit. * Piedmont Hazelnut (Nocciola del Piemonte): The overall favorite--rich, creamy, and nutty. * Orange Blossom Honey: Our guest's top pick from the regular menu. He exclaimed, beaming, at least three times how good that flavor was! * King Pluot: One of the special flavors of the day, the gelato captured the taste of summer - bright, sweet, and refreshing. * Black Sesame: I was curious how black sesame would taste in gelato, and I was not disappointed - the flavor was deep and earthy, made with Japanese sesame seeds. They own an apartment in Paris and I didn't want to offend them with my usual guerrilla tactics. I'm known to fight dirty and conspire with others during this game and everybody hates me because of it, and I didn't want to be banned from their apartment, as Paris in the fall is lovely. Thus my journey with Walter began. One thing about me, is I respect a place that knows flavors. I don't want basic vanilla, give me some weird and strange and flavorful that will tantalize my palette and ignite my senses. Give me salty and sweet. Give me TANG. Give me these things and DONT give me gas. Bad Walters cracked the code. All flavor, real dairy, no lactose, no gas. Each week they have a different batch of flavors, so there's always something new to explore. There's like 6 flavors to choose from at once and they let me try them all before I selected my choice hehe. I tried to sample 6 flavors at Cold Stone and they took me out back and shot me, but here, nobody was mean to me. Mr. Potatohead is the flavor I landed on--brown sugar custard with peanut butter swirl and chocolate covered potato chips. The chunks of chocolate covered potato chips were lodged in the ice cream and I felt like an archaeologist excavating ancient rocks as my spoon lifted the potato chocolate chunks out of the creamy custard into my mouth. I bought a pint. The Mick Jagger was another joy, with its salty caramel and Oreo chunks. They're lucky Peaches Christ was sold out because I might've lost my mind for a peach cobbler ice cream! We have been extremely loyal customers ever since. They rotate flavors, but through many months and many visits I don't think I've ever tried a bad one. The flavors are also very fun, not your typical cookies and cream, cookie dough, etc. Although they do have a plain version sometimes. The employees are very helpful and kind letting you sample the flavors. Our absolute favorite is tinky winky- ube flavored ice cream with honey comb pieces. They also sell points to the side- take advantage. You'll want more when you're done! The ambiance and vibe of bad Walter's is perfect. Bright colors, disco ball dripping, fun sayings on the cups, the whole 9 yards. The take home pint we got has Reddit "hate" comments and their responses, it's hilarious. This ice cream store is way more of a vibe than any marketing agent could dream of. Who would've thought I wish I could be a rep for an ice cream company? Oh and they also do a stamp card when you buy pints to get a free scoop. You bring in the containers so they can recycle them. It's a win win for both sides, loves it. Best ice cream ever!!!

But, my boss orders us food from Fenton's via Doordash to be delivered to our Oakland office from time to time. Last several times in a row, it's been pretty dang bad, (the potato chips always taste fishy!) but today (8/5/26) it was literally garbage. We had 2 egg salad sandwiches and a jalapeno burger, plus two milkshakes. The egg salad sandwiches had to be straight up tossed out. Just not edible. The egg salad was sooo watery, it was like a soup. Just dripping and running down out of the bread. Also, a HEAVY mustard taste, overpowering everything else. The burger had a piece of something (literally) translucent on it, apparently their idea of a slice of cheese? And the accompanying fries were COLD. The toasted almond milkshake was so runny it was like a flavored water. Not at all a creamy consistency, I don't even think they made it with milk, it seemed to be just a tiny bit of ice cream, some water and a lot of ice cubes (still visible in the shake). Just nasty. The other milkshake seemed ok. Of course, with the order being from DoorDash, it's near-impossible to get any real support, so it's just basically a total loss. I don't know if Fenton's just doesn't GAF, since they're always busy anyways, OR if they need to pay their employees more in order to attract the sort of person who's capable of being trained to care to do things correctly, but it's just really a bummer that such a neat, fun, old legacy business is allowing itself to disappoint customers and turn into a big mess like this. Sad.
