This is my go-to when I am craving some really good ice cream. Seating inside and outside. Rotating seasonal flavors. Mostly high school staff who are very kind. Most recent visit I got the mint chip and coffee flavors. I appreciate that both flavors pack a punch, and taste authentic as compared to artificially flavored store bought ice cream. They serve a honey lavender flavor almost year round that is incredible. My personal favorite is the marzipan flavor served during the holidays. They don't skimp on the quality and intensity of flavor. This last visit I also asked if they would give me a single bite of vanilla ice cream on a disposable spoon for my dog, and they kindly obliged. The last day of Feb. turned out to be a sunny 73 degrees so there was a slight wait, but so worth it. The young worker was so patient & helpful with recommendations that it made the whole experience that more enjoyable. Out of the 2 samples I tried, I ended with the Meyer Lemon. Samples: Cherry Cheesecake which I thought had an icy instead of a creamy texture so I didn't choose this one. Honey Rose & I mostly tasted the honey & no essence of rose, so I decided to pass. Without sampling the Meyer Lemon bc the worker recommended this, I just chose it. The Meyer Lemon was refreshing & had a creamy texture. It was perfect with the fresh waffle cone. PRO TIPS: 1) TRY the Waffle Cone - plain or chocolate! 2) Know that every cup does get a little triangular waffle wafer, and my wafer was still warm yet crunchy and delicate to the touch. First time going to iScream! I went on a Saturday night. The shop is small but cozy. I was able to try a flew favors before landing on the coffee and apple double scoop! I went with a cone and loved it! All in, my ice cream was about $9. The staff was great and very helpful! There is some seating inside. Parking can be challenging but you'll probably find something. I've gone back to I-Scream a few times since the last review, and gotten to try the blueberry, creme brulee, honey lavender, and earl grey during those visits. I enjoyed all of those flavors, and earl grey was probably the least sweet out of those, whereas the blueberry and creme brulee are definitely very sweet and the honey lavender is definitely fairly heavy on the sweetness from the honey even though the lavender flavor also comes out strongly enough. Overall, I still consider Mexican chocolate to be my top favorite flavor here due to the richness, density, texture, and spice flavor, but I also do make sure to have their tea flavors or lavender when I see it on the menu. I'd suggest checking their website or Instagram ahead of time to know what flavors are currently available. I had the chocolate cone one of the times which I thought was yummy, fresh, and crunchy. However, if you get their ice cream in a cup, they still include small triangle pieces of waffle cone, which I find to be a fun touch and unique to I-Scream. The last time I visited, I-Scream had added some indoor tables, but there continues to be a small amount of outdoor seating, and there are certainly other benches you can sit down at if you just walk a little ways down Solano. Definitely still among my top favorite ice cream places in terms of the quality of flavors, and I would say they also give a decent amount of ice cream for the price, so I also consider it to be good value overall for the money. read more

Honey lavender is my favorite flavor here. Really friendly workers and they encourage samples. $9 for two scoops on a waffle cone is pretty standard for fancy Bay Area ice cream. Their scoops are creamy but they do have more ice crystals and are colder than maybe a custard or other more dense ice cream. My best friend and I came on a weekday afternoon. It was the perfect sunny day for dessert. The ice cream parlor is on the smaller end with a couple of tables, but it mainly operates as take-out. Plenty of happy families and customers come in, and service has always been inviting and kind. Operating as an artisan ice cream shop, you can taste the quality of their ingredients, plus free samples. They offer traditional and specialty flavors as well as different sizes and cups and cones. Their Burnt Caramel was my go-to as a child but this go around I had a baby scoop of the Pink Grapefruit Sorbet. The Pink Grapefruit Sorbet was sweet and the grapefruit flavor came at the end, though it melted quite fast. My only wish is that they offer more vegan flavors! I appreciate the option for 1-2 flavors in a single scoop since I love to try as many flavors as possible. The ice cream is creamy and you can taste the flavors. Only gripe is I have had better waffle cones. Staff is always very friendly and prompt, even when there are lines. Located near the top of Solano Ave, they have a variety of ice cream flavors that do change. I haven't had a flavor there that I did not like. Apparently they make all their ice cream organic which is cool, but to be honest I can't really taste the difference. Service here was quick and fast so if you see a line, don't worry about being in that line too long. Not much indoor seating is offered and they do have some outdoor seating available. I got nervous when I say the line out the door because I didn't intend to fine a long distraction while we were waiting on on food orders. Bit to my surprise the line moved quickly. I went here on the day of my arrival to SF to visit my friend. I had the salted caramel and the Valencia orange-which tasted like Creamsicle. My friend kept bragging about the place and she was not wrong. They use Straus milk (whatever that is) and only the finest ingredients in SF-per my friend, they also make their cones fresh. Of course, I had to be extra and get the chocolate cone. There was a line going outside. There were some cute little seats that they closed off to customers just because they were closing in 30 minutes . My friend had dark chocolate and blueberry. We both loved what we got. The portions were large and delicious even though it was not very warm that day. My second visit with my friend, the one staff who was working appeared to not be in the best of moods, not even a smile? Really ? at an ice cream shop, where children go to live their best lives and adults are reexperiencing fond memories of their childhood ‍The ice cream my second go around was good, but not as special. The staff was SUPER attentive and made it just my way! They asked if there was enough ice cream, how syrupy I'd like my drink, what brand of sparkling water I preferred, etc. The crème brûlée ice cream was delicious. Such a nice rich texture. You get the great custard taste along with a nice burnt sugar taste, sooo good. This paired great with the raspberry soda! - My mom ordered an affogato, vanilla ice cream paired with a shot of espresso. Again, they asked if there was enough ice cream and even asked if I'd like to change the ice cream flavor! We stuck to classic vanilla. It's a pretty small size and you can't order a double, but my mom said the flavor was incredible and she nearly went back in to get a second one. This place is great.
