We were shopping around for a washer/dryer and a fridge when we stumbled across Almonte. We'd stopped by several discount appliance stores and this one had the largest selection, by far. We were greeted briefly then roamed around the store checking out various appliances for about 30 minutes. The staff checked in periodically, but weren't pushy like salesmen can sometimes be. We ended up finding a nice (used) front loader washer/dryer set and a LG French door, bottom freezer (with craft ice!) fridge, which we love! The fridge was new so it came with the manufacture warranty. It had very minor scratches/dents on the side, which we didn't care about. We had a large U-Haul moving truck booked for the following day, which was a Saturday. They're closed Saturday, but they were kind enough to work with us and have someone meet us in the morning to load up the appliances. We've had the appliances for about 4 months now with no issues. I can't imagine spending full price for new appliances knowing Almonte offers such good bang for your buck! read more

Very bad business I would not use this business again. I bought a stove for a rental property. The burners on one side did not work. I called the owner and he is very confrontational. He told me I need to bring my stove back to his shop so he can fix or exchange it.So I guess my tenants have to go without a stove till he finds the time to fix it. very unprofessional. I remember when he was just starting out it was all about building customer service. The business no longer runs on customer service. Unfortunately I see this over and over these days! Purchached a brand new GE washing machine from this clown got it home and went to install it and found that the fill valve was broken, also purchaced stainless steel washing machine hoses as he said were new that were not, they were used and the one leaks. Called him he said i broke the machine and had no comment on the hoses. This is the people you stay away from! I purchased a used Frigidaire Dec 2022 and just 3 days after my warranty ran out it started not working. I called in a panic (I had over $1,000 worth of food in there) and was told someone would be at my house around 3pm. I called again at 4 and the owner said "sorry I forgot I'll come now". Their only about 20 minutes away, but it took him until after 6 to arrive. I had already given him serial number and pics of thermostat, etc so he could bring proper tools. He said it was coolant so when he was done and $85.00 later he told me that should do it. Well I went to bed around midnight and it still wasn't working and by this time all the food had dethawed and become ruined. I called him the next morning and told him it still wasn't working which he then said he had 1in the showroom freezer but he said it was larger. The one I bought was the largest we could fit. Anyway I went in to look at what he had and explained to his wife why I was there. The owner then came out with a grin and said so how are you. I stated "Well, I'm not a very happy right now" after I said that he became loud, rude and disrespectdul. He actually had the nerve to say I was being irratic, rude and disrespectful to him. I chuckled and he kept going on about my rudeness. He told me he couldn't do business with me anymore and that originally he was going to give me the money back for the freezer because he felt bad since the warranty had just expired. Then said but now because of my attitude he wasn't doing anything for me. I laughed in his face, called him a liar and told him I would make sure I told everybody I could about what type of person he was and what type of establishment he ran. With all this said, I just wish I would have done research on this place instead of just a word of mouth referral. Buyer Beware: Please note this Business I found out purchases Appliance's from Major stores like Lowes. Lowes will take back damaged or non working appliance's from customers and sell them off as scratch and dent or condemned non working appliances to be used as parts. What Almonte does is he puts a sticker on them saying 1 year Manufacture Warranty when by rights it has no warranty at all. Also he's bill of sale is stamped No cash refunds so you stuck with him if something goes wrong. Please be aware of any thing they sell. Buyer Beware! read more

Bought 4 pieces of washer and dryers marked new scratch and dent when I ask about the warrantee they told me 1 year. After installing the units, only COUPLE DAYS later the motor would not kick on. When I went in to resolve the issue I was greeted by the rude owner and was told I had to go through GE for the warrantee AS he was trying to talk his way out of it. These are suppose to be New units???? If I wouldve bought this from home depot would they tell me to go GE? What a scam this place is pulling, they are probably all used units with parts being swapped like a sweatshop. BUYERS BEWARE!! You can find better and cheaper units on FB marketplace. This is a follow up from a previous post. I hooked up the ice maker for the refrigerator I bought from Almonte. As expected, its not working. Since the refrigerator was bought about eight months ago, I thought it would still be under one year warranty as noted on the Almonte receipt. GE told me the warranty ran out last month. We purchased a dryer and had to have it fixed. The company would not return multiple phone calls (even after speaking with them) to set up someone to come out and fix it. A few days turned into a couple of weeks going by and we had to wind up getting it fixed by an outside company....and this time going by also made our warranty run out (I feel the no contact was done on purpose because of the warranty). The gentleman that fixed the dryer, which we only had about four months, said there had been a fire in it from the previous owner. I have pictures. So, they sold us a dryer that had a fire in it. Our calls and visit to the business have gone unanswered, even after sending them the pictures and the bills. Next step is contacting an attorney, which I am doing as we speak. read more

At the recommendation of my landlord I purchased a used refrigerator here. Right from the start I had nothing but problems. I had a 4 month warranty. I couldn't get Mr. Almonte to come look at the refrigerator until I filed a complaint with the better business bureau after two months of being given the runaround. Finally after threatening to sue him and repeatedly notifying the BBB of Mr. Almonte's behavior he agreed to replace the refrigerator if I paid the $45 service call fee and I agreed. Well the only warranty he would give me on the replacement refrigerator was the remainder of the initial warranty which conveniently only two weeks as he had dragged the process out so long. I told the BBB I didn't agree that the issue was resolved as now I had an appliance from this man with no warranty unless I paid his exorbitantly high price to purchase a warranty. The BBB said nothing further could be done other than to post on their website that the business addressed the issues in my complaint but not to my satisfaction. I didn't even ask for a 4 month warranty. I only asked for 2 months which would have been the reasonable time remaining had Mr. Almonte not dragged his feet resolving the issue. I had no choice but to take the refrigerator as the one he initially sold me I had on the lowest temperature setting and it froze anything I put anywhere in the refrigerator. Additionally I had a sheet of ice down the back of the inside of the refrigerator the went all the way down and out the front under the crisper drawers. This was caused by the auto defrost in the drain being clogged with all types of food debris as well as grass clippings. When Mr. Almonte came to "fix" the problem he carved up the inside of the freezer with the screwdriver he used to chisel away the ice. He made a complete mess of my kitchen and didn't even clean up after himself. He left it for me to clean up. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. What he charges for a used appliance you can get brand new in the majority of appliance stores for only a few dollars more I have since discovered. This man supplies all the appliances needed by my landlord in all of their properties so now my disabled elderly mother and I live in fear that this man will make trouble for us with our landlord as he now no longer has an excellent rating with the BBB nor is he pleased he is out money. Don't go to this place no matter how desperately you need an appliance. The hell you will go through afterwards isn't worth it. I wish I had seen the YouTube videos and other complaints against him before going there. There is a YouTube video another former customer made with a similar problem with their refrigerator purchased from Almonte. Unfortunately we needed a refrigerator cheap and immediately and my landlord allowed us to use a portion of or security deposit money to purchase a refrigerator from this man. Never again. He may treat his corporate customers well but individuals he does not. read more
