I was really excited to visit an Alo Yoga store for the first time, as I've purchased several items online and have always liked the brand. Unfortunately, my in-store experience was disappointing. When my husband and I walked in, no one greeted us or offered assistance. I even made eye contact with an employee near the front, but she didn't acknowledge us, so I initially assumed she was a customer. As we continued walking through the store, multiple employees passed by without saying anything. After a few minutes, I realized the person at the front was in fact an employee, which is when I decided to leave. I did mention the situation to someone before leaving (it was difficult to tell who worked there since no one was wearing name tags), and I was told they usually have a greeter and that the employee "didn't see me." As a customer who came in ready to make a purchase--and even wearing the brand--it was a frustrating experience. Unfortunately, it left me feeling unwelcome and has made me reconsider shopping with Alo in the future. After looking at other reviews I see that I am not alone in this. ALO definitely doesn't seem to care about customer service at all and it looks like good customer service is not a company value read more

The store recently opened in Pasadena is smaller than the one in Century city. The staff was not particularly helpful or gracious. We wandered looking for some jogging pants and assorted sweats but the selection was not great . The prices overall were also higher. After a while and seeing that no salesperson was coming our way for help, even though the store was not super busy, we left disappointed. We will try the century city one even if it means a long drive. read more

ALO is definitely taking the world by storm -- it really feels like it's becoming the new Lululemon in the yoga fashion world. I've always liked their material, and my wife loves their styles too. We visited during their early Black Friday sale (30% off) and picked up a few things to bring on our HK trip as Christmas gifts for friends. The bucket hat was a total hit, and the yoga pants are super popular and well-made. Great store with a nice vibe and quality pieces. We'll be back! read more

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was so unpleasant that I feel it's necessary to warn others. If you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable shopping trip, this is definitely not the place to go. The moment you walk in, instead of being welcomed like a valued customer, you are made to feel like a criminal. Every step I took, I could feel the staff's eyes following me, as if I had done something wrong just by walking into the store. It was extremely uncomfortable and ruined my mood completely. Shopping is supposed to be fun -- you browse, you take your time, you enjoy the atmosphere, and maybe you find something you love enough to buy. But here, there is no sense of joy or freedom. Instead, it feels suffocating, as if you're constantly being judged or accused of something you haven't done. Honestly, it's insulting. I understand that stores want to prevent theft, but there are professional and respectful ways to do this. Most decent shops use security tags or anti-theft devices on their clothing, which is a smart and effective solution. If you are that worried about people stealing from you, then invest in those systems. Don't save money by skipping them and then make every paying customer feel like a suspect -- that's not fair to anyone. I barely spent a few minutes inside before I decided to leave. I didn't even want to look at anything, because the negative energy was so strong. No one wants to spend their hard-earned money in a place that doesn't trust its customers. The whole point of good customer service is to make people feel comfortable, respected, and welcome. This store does the complete opposite. To be honest, there are so many other shops out there that not only offer good products but also treat people kindly and professionally. I would much rather give my business to those places. Life is too short to waste time somewhere that makes you feel bad the moment you walk in. For me, this was a one-time visit -- I will never be coming back, and I strongly recommend that others think twice before going. Unless you enjoy being stared at and treated as if you're about to steal something, stay away. In conclusion, this store has lost my trust and my business completely. A little investment in proper security and a lot more respect for customers could make a huge difference, but until that happens, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Oh by the way there cloths is very expensive I mean for the material and design wise. This is not a price friendly shop to go. Don't waste money and go somewhere else! They have the best team work and it was so amazing to see the staff enjoying their jobs and putting a smile on my face! They all deserve a raise! Wow! If I never shopped here before, I definitely never will after the experience I had today. I placed an order for pickup and received an email stating it was ready. Drove to the store 2 hours later and talked to 3 different associates. They couldn't locate my order. Asked to see my email 5 times. After 30 minutes of waiting (mind you this order was "ready"), they said they found it. Waited another 10-15 mins, while they packed it because I could clearly see them grabbing a bag and then had to confirm the item again. Gave me the most sorry "I'm sorry" gift. Gesture appreciated, but this order was a gift for a family member. Needless to say, I will relay this info and also never consider buying from Alo. read more

Don't let the front of the store fool you, this location is huge! I was ready to check out while I started looking around and to my surprise j noticed the store goes back! I asked the girl at the register to hold my items while I shopped some more! This store is much better stocked than the stores in San Diego, perhaps because it's not a huge metro area so it was super cool to check out pieces in person, than for the most part tend to be out of stock in San Diego. The store design is so modern yet calming, the staff was very friendly all around, asking if I needed any help and gave information on some items I had questions about. Alo is finally open in Pasadena! I visited yesterday to buy a couple items for a workout class and a birthday gift. The store is quite large - it goes deep in and there are racks and racks of products to go through, from workout items to fashion items. They have a men's section in the back as well! Fitting rooms are spacious and have mirrors inside them. Sales associates were walking around asking if we were finding everything ok and helping us find sizes/specific items. At the time, they had a DJ playing too, so the atmosphere was very upbeat and fun. For a Saturday, it wasn't too crowded at all. They were gracious to put the gift I bought my friend into a nice Alo bag with tissue paper so it was presentable as a gift, and then my things went into their signature gray tote which I think you get with a certain purchase amount. The items are on the pricier side but I do think their designs and quality are worth it. I've been a longtime online Alo customer so I'm so happy to have one nearby where I can try on the clothes before purchasing! Parking is on the street or in one of the nearby structures! read more

I come to the Pasadena Alo store the most, and it's always such a good experience. I love the brand for their clean and elevated lounge wear--it's comfy but still looks put-together. This location is super easy to browse because the clothes are so well-organized, and it never feels overwhelming. Avoid this place Came in for a return due to the poor material they use on their leggings. Lady at counter initially said return/refunds are easy, the payment would go back to card if you can show proof it was charged to your cc. Ashley then steps in and says, well provide your email, phone number also as if they were advertising a promotion bonus they get for new customer sign ups. I filled in all that nonsense detail and then they said well...we can't find your order, im like duh? You made me sign up just now. So then she asks if i have a receipt, i told her no, they never gave me a receipt. Then they said you can't make a return. So now i got to dispute with my credit card. As a long time loyal customer of Aloyoga, I had my worst experience with the Pasadena location today. Let me make my long story short, I tried to use a promo code so I can save 15% from my purchase. A girl name Kayla or Kyla who helped me during check out seemed very impatient and unhappy because it took a little longer for me to look for the code while ( no other customers were waiting in line). At the end I couldn't give her the promo code so I paid for full price. She checked me out so quickly and gave me the receipt , I asked her if she put this transaction under my account so I can get points. She said, "oh there're so many accounts are under the same name and I don't know which one is yours " and turned the iPad screen to me which there's only two accounts under the same name on the screen. I didn't want to argue or make things more complicated so I asked for her name and left . 15 mins later , I called the store and tried to speak to the store manager. A girl answered the phone said manager is not available . I asked her what's the name of the manager, then she said to me: "It's confidential , I can't give you our manager's name". WTH?! Confidential ? Immediately , I realized it was Kayla so I asked : "are you Kayla? ". She was in mute .... LMAO . I wanted to tell Kayla, if you were not happy, you shouldn't be working . There's as much drama as there is cotton and spandex at this Alo location. I went in last weekend to try on some pants and the store was nice and not that many other customers so it was quiet. The three ladies working at the fitting rooms were chatting and it was interesting to hear one of them air their grievances. One of them was upset because her roommate went to dinner without her. The roommates sister was in town staying with them and the store associate assumed they would all be going out to dinner, after she got off of work. The roommate insisted that it was alright and they would all be going out to dinner anyway tomorrow night. The coworkers were not pleased though and called the roommate's behavior "some mean girl shit" But honestly it just sounded like roommate set some boundaries in a way to let her down gently. By the time I got out of the fitting room the ladies were riled up and snatched the discarded pieces out of my hands. I guess they were on some mean girl shit too. ‍ read more

After my experience at this Alo store yesterday I will NEVER buy Alo again. I went into Alo to exchange my gift my boss bought me for my birthday since the size he got me was too big. I picked out an item to exchange place and an order on a style they didn't have in store. First let me say the girl who was helping me was AMAZING! However, when I went to exchange my items. I told the guy at the register that this was a gift and I want to make an exchange and get the rest in store credit/gift card. He acknowledged it and then starts doing his thing, then he talks to a lady behind the counter and the lady says to me "You'll have to contact customer service with no explanation". So I asked her.. why do I need to call customer service. Can't you just do an exchange and issue me credit? and then she says sorry, he returned it back to the original credit card instead of issuing you a gift card there's nothing we can do. But you can call customer service and they can fix this for you. So I say to her... this isn't my fault you call customer service. She tells me that they are closed so they can't do anything. (if you had good customer service in store.. you would say... let me call them in the morning for you and get this resolved. - this was not offered). I left the store empty handed. This morning I called customer service.... told them what happened. and they said sorry we can't do anything. I don't know why the store told you that. Now I have to tell my boss thanks for your gift BUT because the Alo worker was dumb I need you to waste your time and buy me something else. There's 2 hours of my life down the drain and now my boss'. Thanks for nothing Alo. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I will admit I don't normally shop at these stores but I wanted to get a nice set of yoga clothes for my wife's birthday. I was in a rush so called ahead to see if they had the items I wanted and also to determine whether they would honor a code I received online. I spoke to REAGAN who not only answered all my questions but helped me pick out the items. She patiently waited as I looked up the items on the website. When I arrived I was greeted by a group of friendly staff members that included Erin and Lia. They called REAGAN who was working in the back. She was super friendly (I almost gave her a hug). REAGAN had the items ready, gift wrapped everything and took time to make sure all the discount codes were applied and taken care off. I don't expect much service these days especially from retail stores. My experience at Alo Pasadena, especially with REAGAN, changed my perception. I think this review is necessary because it still rubs me the wrong way to this day. About a year ago right after Christmas, I went into this Alo store with my boyfriend. We had came here right after the gym and it was a rainy day so it was pouring outside. With that said I was wearing sweats and a hoodie, while my boyfriend was wearing sweats with a quarter zip. Long story short, we got profiled by the workers and their manager because they thought we were going to steal! As I'm shopping looking for their popular flair leggings I overheard the manager tell a worker to make sure to "help us out". We weren't the only ones in the store either there were others shopping but all they were focusing on were my boyfriend and I. As someone who has worked retail myself, I know it is protocol to offer help to someone if you suspect them to be up to no good. I ended up just getting my leggings and getting out of there but thanks to this experience I'm never shopping Alo again. I'll stick with lululemon stuff from now on. Their stuff is poor quality anyway. If anyone who works there reads this, DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER, especially if it's raining cats and dogs outside like come on. I think it's also necessary to add that we are Mexican and as much as I do not want to make this about race it may be possible part of it was racial profiling as well. No one else in the store looked like us and all the workers from this experience were not from a minority group. read more

I enjoy this brand for awhile now, but my home store in the Grove I've seen a decline in their customer service as of late. I recently went to the new Pasadena location and it was night and day customer service wise. JC is who helped me, I believe his first name is Jordan? I love the clothes at Alo, but customer service in the Pasadena store can use improvement. I went to the store to return a pair of pants I ordered online. I stood at the counter waiting for several minutes while three employees were talking off to the side. There was no way they could not see me. They finished talking and walked their separate ways and I thought that at least one of them would come help me. Nope, I had to go up to one of the salespeople and ask for help to do the return. This was my first time I visited an alo boutique and unfortunately was not impressed with the customer service. I asked an associate about a product I came across online and she appeared annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with an other associate despite saying excuse me. Her quick response was "if you didn't see it here I guess not then". It does not take but one or two additional steps to acknowledge your customer kindly first hand and secondly it would have made a difference in my shopping experience if you had just offered to search the product along with me. Great store, love the clothes. However I was let in to a fitting room, with clothes all over the place. I was let in without the employee counting my items. Upon leaving I was asked for my bag to be searched. I refused because no one else's bag had been searched. Forgive me for not knowing names, but a girl (young 20's, Asian descent, pretty girl) claimed there were "tags on the floor." And that's why she had told her manager & demanded to search my bag. I laughed because if I was going to steal, I wouldn't have taken the tags off the clothing. I would have stolen the clothing with the tags on. To be clear- she had stated tags (with the price) were on the floor, not tags like a security tag. It was all a bunch of BS. I felt discriminated & pointed out. Once I told them I was not opening my bag, and that I would wait & sit with them to review the security footage of what I had brought inside of the dressing room vs what I had taken out, I was told, "it was okay." Really sucks because it's one of my favorite stores, and I will not go back there. read more
