We had business in the area again and decided to stay here again and it feels just as bad if not potentially slightly worse than our prior visit a little over a year ago. When we arrived, there was nobody at the front desk and there were a couple other people that needed assistance, yet nobody was to be found. We tried calling the phone number and could hear the phones ringing in the back, but nobody was answering. Then suddenly, a worker swooped in from the back but he looked like he had just woken up from a nap. He was fast getting us checked in but said probably less than 10 words in total during the entire check in process. The rooms are even more in a state of disrepair than a year ago, which suggests to me the owner is investing very little in the upkeep of the rooms. I'm not sure what the plan is - perhaps to milk out every dollar possible, then flip the hotel to a new owner? See the attached photos for just a sampling of the issues. The EV chargers here are still a mess. There was a non-EV parked in one of the hotel EV charging stalls and when we asked if they could locate the guest or maybe leave a note letting them know that the spots are reserved for EVs using the charger, the front desk person essentially refused and said there was nothing he could do. I realized that since they do not take car descriptions or license plates at check in, it's impossible to know which guest's car it was, however, he also couldn't be bothered to leave them a note, which was a pretty surprising. For those planning a visit to this hotel, there are plenty of stalls in the Tesla supercharger but you should not plan to be able to have access to the hotel chargers unless you just happen to get very lucky.

This is a business travelers hotel. The lobby, restaurant, bar area, elevators and hallways were clean however hallways not well lit. We ate one breakfast & dinner at the restaurant. The breakfast tacos are a bit too greasy and the oatmeal was watery however the Bites menu item mezze platter, smash burger and California club sandwich on the dinner menu were good. Fries are shoestring (thin). Wait time to receive food is too slow. If your time is limited, order the breakfast buffet to eat quickly or allow 20 min to get your food order! Customer service rep Esme at check in was friendly however when we checked out, Esme failed to ask how was our stay, do we need a ride, or welcome us to stay with them again. Why? The rooms need MAJOR renovating, a thorough cleaning, upgraded lighting, bathroom safety features, and more snack options offered in the lobby and by robot order ( robot delivery item prices are higher!) We had a pool view room. The pool bottom is dirty. There are many more food options only 7 min, 2 miles in a shopping center with grocery stores, restaurants, and more hotels off Jarvis and Newark Streets. Rideshare services are plentiful. The rideshare trip from this hotel over the Dunbarton Bridge to Stanford was a 45 min one way trip. Plan ahead!

Bro, where is Wendy?!?! Even though the hotel kind of had some updates since I last was here... The customer service front the check-in gals was not the business. This one girl was trying to charge me $33/per hour for a late check-in as a Gold Elite. Girl, Bye!

So very very disappointed in this place. Me and wife stayed here last night (may14) since I was having a medical procedure very early and didn't want to drive all the way up here so early. Plus it was Mother's Day. We had stayed in aloft many years ago and really enjoyed it. We arrived early and helped by a very friendly lady. We got checked in and up to room. Upon entering room it appeared nice at a glance. We put the bags down and went out to eat. When we returned and spent time in room is where it got ugly. I should start by saying I did have to jiggle toilet since water was running when we did walk in. I pushed the lever up and it stopped so didn't think much of it. Wife opened curtains to find dead bugs in both window seals. That let in more light so was able to see gunk and garbage on floors. Wife then decided to close curtains and blackout shade and shade wouldn't work. I went over and had to literally pull it since it appeared they tapped the edges and the adhesive stuck it to itself. Wife the noticed some stain or something on top sheet so we stripped off. I was to nervous to check further since I needed to get sleep. Didn't have time to deal with changing rooms or hotels so just dealt with it. Trust me this was a bad motel 6 experience. Not just a motel 6 a bad one. So disappointed in this stay. Will not go back.

The "Botlr" robotservice never showed up and the snacks had different ingredients than shown on the manufacturers website. Had to call the front desk to get my snack delivered 1 hour late - how convenient (not). Bathroom was smelly and the bed was old. The hallway is quite noisy and the rooms have thin walls. How could you call this a 4 star hotel - no way. This place really needs to improve. 2/5. Phone didn't even work - you have to call at max volume on the speaker phone to reach the front desk. The hotel also does not have secure wifi- good luck doing business here as most business connections must be secure to use for work. All rooms are dirty I transferred to. Recommendations 1.) replace all your beds 2.) clean the bathroom and the vents 3.) insulate your doors so they don't slam and also so they have decent noise rating to keep hallway noise out 4.) don't offer the snack delivery robot - if the human who initiates the order never does it - it won't work 5.) put a separator in your room instead of using a tv as a separator. 6.) paint the walls properly- you can see someone didn't even paint it with tape to make it straight 7.) remove the mini fridge which makes noise when on medium or high 8.) don't put sheers for the window and a pull down. Add a black out curtain to seal the corners for light 9.) add secure wifi 10.) clean your rooms Staying here makes you feel Like the people that run the hotel have never ever stayed in thier own hotel

REALLY 3.5 STARS This is my go to hotel when coming to the area. I really appreciate the amenities: kitchenette, living room, hot tub, bar. I've come again and again, I even had my sweet 16 here. I love that the rooms feel like an apartment. There's room to walk around, I can reheat and store my food, and can grab a drink or get dinner downstairs. I love that its secluded, but close to where you need to go. Its quiet so great for business trips, or catching up with people in town. If you're picky with your hotels, not it sure if this is the one for you but I enjoy coming here!

My first time staying at an Aloft type hotel. Everything worked out perfectly. Very new feeling on the outside. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Dark bar and lobby area since lights were not all turned on. Saw the room service robot in the lobby. Great location and very quiet at night. It gets dark in the parking lot, but it still felt safe and convenient. Easy self parking options. There are advantages being a Marriott Elite member with a Chase Bonvoy credit card. Received free drinks and snacks upon arrival as perks. Location is not far from freeway access and the bigger local streets. You can find restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, and bakeries within 5-10 minutes driving distance from the hotel. Corner suite room on upper floor is not bad at all. Comes with a small kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, and extra towels. Huge livingroom area with a cable TV, coffee table, chair, and couch. Light switches and sir conditioner worked fine. Loved all the huge windows and blinds. Felt like a home away from home. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Only thing to note is the shower area may be old since water goes down slower than usual during showers. Bathroom is very spacious and had lots of storage drawer space. Hygiene items were good. Oh, the soap smelled very good too. Hair conditioner and shampoo was high quality and didn't over-dry my hair. Huge windows made a difference in the look and feel of the stay. Lots of natural room lights! We will be staying again someday.

This is a great hotel located in Newark near the Dumbarton Bridge. There's plenty of parking and offer Tesla chargers as well. The front desk staff was very kind at check in and when we forgot our key in the room and had to get a replacement. We got lucky and got a corner room which had so much room with a small kitchenette with small refrigerator. There was a table and a tv that swiveled where you could watch from the couch or from the bed. The bathroom had a bathtub and a separate shower which was a bit small. The shower had Dry Bar shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. I wish they provided more towels already in the room, but we were able to ask for more. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again in the future.

The shared microwave is definitely a downside to the hotel, as I really wish they had personal ones in each room readily available. They also have a Starbucks located in the first floor, but l've noticed that their staff never arrives at their opening time (6AM?) as advertised by the front desk. As for the rooms, they have their own mini fridge which is great for short stays. I can definitely overlook the two downsides of this hotel as The Courtyard is conveniently located next to restaurants/fast food chains and I can easily drive a couple minutes to the Starbucks nearby. P.S. Hopefully this hotel will look into fluffier pillows because their pillows are a little flat and stiff, but not at all unbearable.

I hadn't earned miles through my Asia Miles account for close to 18 months. If I had not earned miles by May 30 all the miles I earned through Asia Miles will reset to zero. One of their partners is Courtyard by Marriott. I reserved a room for two nights during Memorial Weekend. The reason I booked Courtyard Newark Silicon Valley was due to the swimming pool as I needed something to do on my staycation. I came here Saturday afternoon. The guest room is spacious enough. The bed was really comfy. The staff was really nice. The lobby was clean and organized. I even like the Keurig coffee machine inside the room that had some coffee pods. There's a cafe opened in the morning when you can buy coffee and hot food. Despite all the positive attributes of this Marriott I gave the rating I did because I came for a staycation. After I checked-in on a Saturday afternoon I tried to swim in the swimming pool. Noticed I said "tried", but the swimming pool was cold. I ended going to the whirlpool. The next day on a Sunday I came back to the swimming in the afternoon. I noticed the debris from trees in the pool. There are a lot of trees around the pool. With the abundance of trees this pool needs to be cleaned constantly. During my stay there not only was the pool cold but also dirty. If I had to stay at another Courtyard by Marriott it wouldn't be here.

Everything is falling apart. Across two separate stays, in two different rooms (a 2‑bedroom and a 1‑bedroom), we had the same trash‑level issues: broken light fixtures hanging down in fridge, nasty old pull‑out sofas, uncomfortable beds, ripped curtains and a sour smell that hits you the second you walk in. Both stays, our keys demagnetized nonstop, which was just the cherry on top of the chaos. Breakfast? A joke. Overcooked eggs and i think it was meat every day, waffles only on weekends, no juice machine, and the whole area is swarmed by people (whole familes) who clearly aren't even staying at the hotel that were rough and loud characters. And let me be blunt: as a woman, I would never stay here alone. This place feels neglected, unsafe, and completely mismanaged. It needs a full renovation and a leadership overhaul.

Looks like it's there permanently. Okay - it's funny to review a Hyatt Place because, on the surface, they're supposed to all be the same. And, really, staying in a chain hotel isn't as much fun as a local inn or privately owned boutique hotel, right? But with the World of Hyatt award program, we tend to stay in them for one-nighters when we're traveling from A-to-B, or to see a one-night event somewhere. I see differences even across the predictable model of suite-like rooms, the predictable breakfast items, and of course, the level of service. Okay - all that said, this property did pretty well upon my first visit last week! Check-in staff was friendly (but I had to ask for my World of Hyatt member free water). Parking is $10/night, not too terrible for Silicon Valley. The free full breakfast was as expected (and very, if not exactly, the same as in every US Hyatt Place): a fresh fruit salad option, a thawed frozen fruit option, oatmeal and toppings, a hot bar (this day had 1-egg omelets, cooked from frozen potato cubes, dry biscuits, and exceptional banger-like sausages- which were much better than the usual hotel sausage patty!). Loose oranges and bananas. Cereals, hard boiled eggs. Very good and plentiful coffee at breakfast. They had tv on playing a local morning news program and staff was doing a good job keeping the dining area clean. The room was clean and in good repair. I like their ottoman / coffee table in the sitting area and the side table that you can pull up to the bed if you're eating takeout in your room at night. There's also the usual wall-length desk/counter with a mini fridge. The coffee station is the old kind (not Keurig) with disposable plastic trays with a filter-bag of bad coffee for a one-cup situation. But it's on a counter by the door, along with the ice bucket and a few glasses, like a little bar. I liked that except that the outlet didn't work, so I had to plug the coffee maker in somewhere else in the room. Not a big deal. The bathroom is big and they're using their standard refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the big, nice shower (with sliding glass door, not a plastic curtain- Hilton, take a note). Front desk was always friendly when I passed by and I saw they had a nice bar and lobby sitting area, though I didn't use either. Parking lot in front and back was well-lit and felt safe. The location is in a sea of car dealerships but there's a neighborhood behind it with trees and a sidewalk so you could take a walk easily here. Also, there's a Costco down the street, which was bananas busy when I stopped in for some discounted liquor, but still convenient for gas and what have you. I'd return!

A lot of the ice machines were out and not working and also I hope they get the refrigerator in the café area checked. We make bi-annual trips to the bay and one of those bi-annual trips is usually over the holidays, and requires the need for a full kitchen and preference for a separate bedroom suite type of room. This hotel is down the street from another hotel we usually book to meet these needs, and we decided to try this hotel for a shorter trip just to see if we will like it for the longer stay trip since this hotel is cheaper. We stayed two nights, and only experienced breakfast once as we needed to leave before breakfast time on the day of check out. At check in, we got there right at 3pm and didn't realize there was only one person checking people in, and that it took well over half an hour to get checked in since there was a sizable line. This isn't anyone's fault but it's just worth noting if you arrive right at check in time it could take awhile to get the room key. I do want to thank the person who checked us in for accommodating our request for a lower level room on the spot as someone within our reservation had a leg injury. In the room, we did notice its overall older amenities that the bedroom to bathroom flooring was worn out where the carpet and tile meet, and the edge of the carpet had nails protruding that could have cut someone's foot if not careful. we placed a washcloth over it and told our kids to walk around the towel. The shower body soap was running low, and we had 4 people listed on our reservation (2 adults and 2 children) so naturally we needed more soap to bathe everyone as well as 2 more towels. The kitchen was a little low on flatware, I would have expected maybe 4 of everything but I saw 3 of everything instead. There was not a baking tray for the oven, which is normally something most places have readily available in the oven drawer. The pull out couch bed that our kids slept on was very much a metal springy mattress, I wouldn't recommend sleeping on this thing more than a few nights. Fortunately my kids were fine on it. I noticed the in room phone did not have an easy way to contact the front desk, so we waited til the next morning before going in person to ask for more things at breakfast time. The Next morning Housekeeping did come and give us a full set of towels but only two bath towels, so we asked specifically for bath towels while they wanted our dirty towels returned on the spot. I didn't have a problem complying, but it felt like pulling teeth to get those two extra towels for the kids. I told them about the soap as well and they mentioned needing to put in a special request which was never done cause we never got a soap refill. Fortunately I did end up shopping during our trip and bought some kids soap. For the one breakfast day we did get to have, the actual food offerings are great and nothing to complain about regarding the actual food served in the buffet. It's important to note though that there are multiple signs saying something along the lines of "No to-go plates, all breakfast and social hour offerings are to be enjoyed in the dining room" this wasn't an issue for us, but I could see it being an issue when all the tables are full when you're not allowed to take a plate back to your room. The juice machine also has a sign saying not to refill more than 20 ounces a person, I found that odd but again it wasn't an issue for us. On our 2nd and final night there were a few things we noticed that didn't directly impact us but could easily impact others: the pool is advertised as heated, and we walked over to check it as the kids wanted to swim. It was slightly above lukewarm temperature which would have been acceptable, but there were also no pool towels available to use despite that I think I saw a pool towel return bin. Given how difficult it was to get extra regular bath towels, we decided not to allow the kids to swim. The guest laundry room was next to the pool and I noticed that literally every machine was out of order with a sign. If I were staying much longer and actually needed those machines I would have been frustrated. After reviewing other Yelp reviews it's clear that I will probably be using the other hotel down the street for our needs during our longer trip to the bay in the future, but as I said at the beginning of this review: I'm willing to stay here again with the expectations I already have to try and give this hotel another chance, possibly for short trips only. Hopefully this review just gives everyone awareness of what to expect for the accommodations as I probably should have read the reviews before I went but then again even if I did read the reviews earlier I may have not taken it seriously to begin with.

It always has some issues from being unsafe, suspicious and obnoxious people, smoking, rooms smelling and etc. The minute we walked in to check in the stage greeted us and took care of us. Especially the young girl in the front thank you so much! But the cherry on top was the general manager Jennifer! By far the sweetest and downest hotel employee I've met. I've stayed at 5 hotels and have not been treated the way she treated us. Thank you for the amazing vibes! Aside from the great service the room we had amazing and actually not disgusting, did not smell, clean, spacious and comfortable. Well at least the room we had not sure about others. Thank you once again now we have found our hotel for whenever we come to visit the bay.
