    I want to give to give one star initially. But the front desk staff is so friendly. So I give two stars for their customer service. We checked in at late night, and it's pretty smooth process. After entered the room, we smelled some bad smell inside the room. It smells like someone's p-e-e. We kept the door open for more than an hour to circulate the air. But after we turned on the AC, I started sniffing, same as my friends. We checked the AC filter, it is clean. So I have no idea where is the sour smell came from. The good thing is, the second day when we woke up, we didn't smell that much bad smell anymore. The coffee machine is not that clean, so make sure clean it before usage. The green tea pod is pretty good. You can make your own coffee or tea using their free coffee/ tea pod. Mattress is pretty comfort as well. I slept very well. Parking lot has plenty space for parking. If you are not too picky, then this Marriot hotel is a good choice for a short stay like 2-3 days.

    3.5 Rounding up to 4. The Man who checked us in last night was super nice. I liked him. The lobby was nice. Again, you all know how I feel about Hilton. It was nice that this place had a Keurig, and the tv was big. However, this needs a face lift in their rooms. I was less than thrilled about the shower, because there wasn't a bath tub. The curtains had holes, and pillows was a little stiff.

    I'm sorry to see some others had unpleasant experiences, I had a great stay. Room was clean and well kept, staff was very nice, and it is an excellent location. I do agree with another reviewer that the cafe (or whatever it's called) inside was a bit pricey for the food and beverages they serve. But hey, that's convenience right? I'll stay here again

    If it wasn't for the room they didn't have for me, the extra $90 preauthorization charge on top of a $200 preauthorization charge already , the loud family party in the room next to me, or the fact that they didn't stop the party, this place would have been pretty nice. Even when I told the manager about the party that was going on past 5am, he just looked at me said OK. No apology or anything. Didn't even really address the matter at all. The Marriott company has plenty of other places to stay, I'd try another spot if I were you.

    This was by far the worst hotel Experience that I've ever had. I booked my stay as part of a wedding party. Upon my arrival, the receptionist quoted me a price $100 more than what was booked and my check out would be a day earlier. Then once I tried to pay , the receptionist told me that my card was demagnetized and if I didn't have another card my reservation will be canceled. ( I had actually just used the card prior to my arrival to purchase gas.) I asked to manually input my card or let me use Apple Pay and was told that's not an option. I called the director of the wedding party who called and they finally said they would put it in manually after about 2-3 hours. I'm the mean time I waited in another member of the wedding parties room . They curtains were covered in dry blood . I had to help them move out of that room. I finally got a room , I slept and woke up itching really badly. I called down to the receptionist to address this but the receptionist told me that I wasn't registered in their computer as being a guess. That was the last straw i immediately went down to canceling my reservation. He was then able to find me in the system. Other people that attended the wedding also told me of itching and seeing bugs. I wish I could give this place 0 stars !!!!

    Toilet seat was bubbly and peeling. Not sure how this is possible.

    Clean rooms. Quiet hotel. Respectful and helpful staff. Thankful for usb ports on desktop and electrical outlet at nightstands.

Have once monthly staff meeting with all, to just go over anything in general that has been working great, and things that need improvement, give staff spot awards for doing a great job (after training and seeing that they really are doing great).

Unfortunately, the condition of room 302 did not reflect the positive experiences I've had here in the past. One of the window shades was completely broken and sealed shut. So you have to do without the natural light. The bedside table next to the bed was damaged, I couldn't put my nighttime water next to my bed for fear of it falling off. And I was assigned an accessible bathroom (I never chose that option), that had a persistent leak, causing water to run throughout the night. I was tired and needed a place to shower and sleep for the night, so I didn't march downstairs and bring up all these concerns to the front desk. Also, the front desk person could have been friendly upon checking in. This level of maintenance and room quality is not what I have come to expect from this hotel. Given my previous good stays, I was surprised and unhappy with the overall condition of the room during this visit. I hope management addresses these issues so future guests can enjoy the high standard of accommodations that has made this one of my preferred places to stay in the East Bay.

We would also like to recognize Julieta, who manages breakfast early every morning. She was always friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Marian, Elena, Rosalina, Betty, and the rest of the housekeeping staff also helped with breakfast whenever Julieta was off. In addition, the rooms are sizeable and clean. I did not notice any ants (I read other reviews which had mentioned this). They have a free hot breakfast everyday from 6am to 9am. The lobby is also nice and there's space for you to work and eat as needed. We got the double queen room and it also has a small office area. Verdict: I would recommend this hotel to others.

The room was not properly cleaned. A dirty fork was left behind, which clearly should have been noticed during inspection. The clock in the room is also missing its 9V battery. Every time the key card is removed and the room loses power, the clock resets completely. This may seem minor, but for travelers it becomes an unnecessary inconvenience. To me, this reflects a management issue more than a housekeeping issue. If leadership conducted routine quality inspections on even a handful of rooms daily, problems like this would be identified immediately. Small cost-cutting decisions -- such as not replacing a simple battery -- negatively impact the guest experience. Additionally, the shower water pressure is extremely weak, making it difficult to properly shower after traveling. To make matters worse, guests are also charged for parking in Newark, which feels more like a revenue grab than a guest-focused policy. Overall, this property does not deliver value for the price being charged, and I will not stay at this location again in the future.

Looks like it's there permanently. Okay - it's funny to review a Hyatt Place because, on the surface, they're supposed to all be the same. And, really, staying in a chain hotel isn't as much fun as a local inn or privately owned boutique hotel, right? But with the World of Hyatt award program, we tend to stay in them for one-nighters when we're traveling from A-to-B, or to see a one-night event somewhere. I see differences even across the predictable model of suite-like rooms, the predictable breakfast items, and of course, the level of service. Okay - all that said, this property did pretty well upon my first visit last week! Check-in staff was friendly (but I had to ask for my World of Hyatt member free water). Parking is $10/night, not too terrible for Silicon Valley. The free full breakfast was as expected (and very, if not exactly, the same as in every US Hyatt Place): a fresh fruit salad option, a thawed frozen fruit option, oatmeal and toppings, a hot bar (this day had 1-egg omelets, cooked from frozen potato cubes, dry biscuits, and exceptional banger-like sausages- which were much better than the usual hotel sausage patty!). Loose oranges and bananas. Cereals, hard boiled eggs. Very good and plentiful coffee at breakfast. They had tv on playing a local morning news program and staff was doing a good job keeping the dining area clean. The room was clean and in good repair. I like their ottoman / coffee table in the sitting area and the side table that you can pull up to the bed if you're eating takeout in your room at night. There's also the usual wall-length desk/counter with a mini fridge. The coffee station is the old kind (not Keurig) with disposable plastic trays with a filter-bag of bad coffee for a one-cup situation. But it's on a counter by the door, along with the ice bucket and a few glasses, like a little bar. I liked that except that the outlet didn't work, so I had to plug the coffee maker in somewhere else in the room. Not a big deal. The bathroom is big and they're using their standard refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the big, nice shower (with sliding glass door, not a plastic curtain- Hilton, take a note). Front desk was always friendly when I passed by and I saw they had a nice bar and lobby sitting area, though I didn't use either. Parking lot in front and back was well-lit and felt safe. The location is in a sea of car dealerships but there's a neighborhood behind it with trees and a sidewalk so you could take a walk easily here. Also, there's a Costco down the street, which was bananas busy when I stopped in for some discounted liquor, but still convenient for gas and what have you. I'd return!

Clean lobby Clean surroundings Safe surroundings They had security do patrols. ----- 1st night went well, we did our thing during the day, we came back, the room was not refreshed. That is fine. We asked about the house keeping, it is only done upon request. Ok, didn't know, but we know for the next day. 2nd night Morning comes. Backed up toilet. (Uh oh) I went to the front desk, Tim was there. He got my request for a room "refresh" and the maintenance call. Maintenance came a little too fast right after the request (we were getting ready to leave for the day) so we asked maintenance to come back in 15 minutes. (5 hours go by) We leave, do our thing, come back, the toilet was still backed up and the room was not refreshed. My wife dealt with somebody else, didn't come back happy. As we were going out for the afternoon/night, we went by the front desk and Tim was there. I let him know that nothing happened. He was shocked because he took the requests in the morning. We left for another 5 hours. We come back for the 3rd/final night, and everything was fixed. Room was refreshed, and the toilet was working again. Tim made sure it was taken care of. Tim took care of the coordination. ------ Tim left a lasting impression. Tim took care of business. Tim is the reason for the 5 stars. Thank you, Tim! My family enjoyed their stay.
