One bite into the shaved to expose the red bobba in the center.

I went to the farmers market in Dublin's Emerald Glen Park, located at 4201 Central Parkway to try Aloha Aria's Shaved Ice. It's only available on Thursdays from 4 PM to 8 PM. I had the Maui sunrise for $10 and it was very large and fluffy with red bobba in the middle, not packed down like the Shaved ice in Hawaii. It was delicious and well worth the trip down there. But the parking was a little difficult as the farmers market was very busy. Aloha Aria's is also available at the farmers market on Saturdays 9 AM to 1 PM at city Center at Bishop Ranch.

Pricy store with limited options and very average desserts. We ordered the mango desert and it was average in taste and flavor.

Great Shaved ice. It was similar to the ones we had in Hawaii . We will visit this place again.

They can sometimes get busy especially after 11am, but they'll usually let you know if there is a longer than average wait. We've tried this BBQ stand at least three times over the last few years. Every time, we get lured in by the incredible smoky aroma at the local farmers markets, forget that the food isn't good, and try it again. Tonight at the Dublin Farmers Market was our final reality check. We ordered the chicken and ribs combo, and the meat was incredibly dry, heavily charred, and so tough it felt like eating jerky. To make matters worse, they served the side of cucumber salad in a lidless plastic container wrapped only in thin foil--which predictably spilled everywhere. Save your money and bypass the enticing smell. I am officially writing this to remind myself (and everyone else) to keep walking!

I wanted to showcase my Taiwanese heritage for the dinner and was excited that Mama Lee's was available to cater. It was hard to decide from the variety of their catering menu because so much of it reminded me of my childhood favorites. I ordered the following, and of course it was way too much, but folks were excited to take home leftovers: - Popcorn Chicken - Pork chop egg fried rice - Chicken cutlet egg fried rice - Qua Bao - Veggie Chow Mein - Crispy Fried Tofu Sticks (with garlic dipping sauce and pickled cabbage) - Seasonal Veggie & Mushroom The popcorn chicken, egg fried rice, and veggie chow mein was the kids' favorites, along with the winter melon lemon tea, which David and Marysa threw in for being their first customer in Pleasant Hill. The adults enjoyed everything that was offered, and were excited to try many new dishes for the first time. Overall, the flavors were reminiscent of my memories of eating in Taiwan, and that was a huge plus! Communication was easy, and the day of the event, they sent pics of the food. Not only did they include delivery over $350, the food was brought in piping hot & they helped set up the food. I am excited to work with David and Marysa again for next year's dinner, and I would highly recommend Mama Lee's catering for your next event!!

One thing I couldn't wait after my shift, the 2nd year, (this year) I couldn't wait to eat the food she had. The guy in front of me in line, took the last turkey Caprese. When it was my turn, I was sad to tell her that I wasn't sure what I should get anymore, because some things were sold out, including the turkey Caprese the last customer bought. She actually solved the issue, by letting me know that she would add the turkey onto the veggie Caprese. Problem solved, exactly! That made me happy so quickly, I loved her truck & HER even more. LOL My husband got the hotlink sandwich, and he definitely enjoyed that as well. Kelly has a sense of humor, so don't get offended at her jokes. LOL Honestly, every year that I will work at Fort Mason for NYE, I will definitely stop by her truck, after my shift ends. If any food truck is worth, it's hers.

I saw a long line in front of a nondescript green truck and saw "BBQ" from a distant. I didn't realize it was Ariang until I got a bit closer to the front. I ordered the Kimchi tacos (2 for $10). Its a bit of a misnomer since they load the tortilla tacos with piles of marinated, juicy beef and chicken, lots of lettuce with dressing, and a few pieces of kimchi. This is something you absolutely need to eat with a fork, since I can barely see the tortillas. I liked the meats but think this dish is too close to a salad. I expected to get some spicy-tart from the kimchi, but they seemed overwhelmed by the salad dressing which tends to be sweeter. Overall not bad - maybe 3 stars. I think I liked the offerings from Koja Kitchen a bit more.

I think the problem is that I couldn't get past the lack of a restroom in the area. They had some portables, but they are making food and we are supposed to eat it. But because of the cold, I didn't want to eat outside so our food got a cold, but it was good. My husband liked the food he got, but gluten free options are super limited. They get a third star because of the bar! Now there was only one person working there and that's fine because he could go get a snack or something and come back to pour drinks, but again. The restroom issue. Where does he wash his hands, what if he has a cold and sneezes into them, and so on. That's where my mind went. The vendors are quite nice and were helpful and weren't mean when they answered my GF questions and I appreciate that. So, this is like the little engine that could. I can see that it is a gathering spot for people and they have music and speakers which is cool. So I saw and felt a community vibe and people really seemed to like going. If I lived in the area, I may try it a bit more, but in all honestly, Oakland Museum's Off the Grid event is everything I wish this was. While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.
