The only Italian Ice I've ever tried was Rita's. And during the time I first had it, I ended up really liking it! I didn't even know about this place until my work decided to do a catering for all of us employees. So, when I found out, I was super stoked because it's been so hot lately, and it was a nice treat for us all. The italian ice is delicious! If you've never had it before, it's basically shaved ice, but softer and of course flavored. Kind of similar to like a sorbet. When I saw their cart, I thought it looked really fun. They have these really fun names to their ice flavors, and I enjoyed how creative they were! Definitely a great treat and I would definitely come to their food truck wherever these guys will be. When I ordered, I got the Big Daddy. It's basically an ice that's flavored with Pineapple, Cherry, and Orange. To be honest, I'm not usually a fan of cherry anything, but this combination of flavors worked. The cherry wasn't too potent, and I liked the tartness that paired with the pineapple flavor. Happened to try them out at a Filipino festival held in Milpitas. Wasn't really expecting much, but once I got the little spoon in my mouth, it made me want to get a bigger scoop. The consistency was extremely smooth, very refreshing on a hot day. I used Mustache Mike's for a corporate event (Sept. 2018). Booking the service is easy. I paid the day of with a credit card. The cart/set up is space efficient with no mess. They also have a food truck, but that was too large for the event space. Unfortunately, I did not have any of the product, but at least 175 employees did. One person gave feedback that they liked the product (tasted good). Someone else said it was a less rich (lower quality) version of gelato, appropriate for a child's birthday part. I saw the product and it looked great. Taste is subject to the beholder. I would recommend for events without hesitation. read more

I found Mustache Mikes, and thought this was going to be a great hit! The "Big Daddy" was the biggest seller I was told. I am partial to "Da Bomb". It was a hot day, and they were a god send. They are very responsive by email, though sometimes not as prompt. Regardless, they were punctual and stuck to the commitment even when one of their trucks was out of commission. My coworker was smart and had Mike's before lunch, and then Mike's after lunch. They let her mix and match different flavors. My boss even mixed 3 flavors! They are also 100x better than Ritas. This is the best stuff on earth! I was first introduced to Mustache Mike's during Yelp's Event at Rock Wall Winery in Alameda. We were lucky enough to experience all sorts of different flavors from their italian ice truck. My favorites are DA BOMB, Big daddy, Mango Madness (I think it's called), but the ultimate favorite would have to be the root beer one since I'm a root beer fan. Staff was very friendly and on point in getting us what we needed, no matter how many flavors we wanted to try. This isn't your typical italian ice...the way they make it is so smooth, melts in your mouth and the taste is legit. Not sure how long this truck has been around, but I can guarantee you, they are gonna start booming some time soon. I want to hire them for my next occasion, whatever that may be. I kept coming back for more since the sampler sizes we had were small, but man, I can eat this stuff all day long. No joke! Mustache Mike's, you are my new best friend, seriously. I tried the Juicy Rancher, a swirl of sour green apple, lemon and watermelon, at the car show today. It was refreshingly sweet, tart and tangy. Tiny ice crystals make for a smooth, light and creamy dessert without any dairy. Expensive at $4 for a small scoop but so worth it on a hot day.
