The ingredients were arranged differently than any gryo I've previously had, making it a bit difficult to eat. The meat was also a little dry and just a bit too salty. Also, as messy as it was, I didn't see any napkins on the truck (thank goodness I keep hand sanitizer wipes in my purse). Since there were all kinds of cuisines and culinary offerings present (burgers, Indian, Mexican, Boba Tea etc.), I'd probably come and check them out again.

My friend ordered empanadas from another truck and seriously waited 25 minutes (and their line wasn't long at all). Yikes. I heard the bathrooms were really far away. Really, at a festival whose sole purpose it is to sell food and drinks? Yowza. Thank goodness there was a band. They were okay but good enough so I didn't feel completely ripped off. I liked their menu as it was easy to follow. A few apps, a wrap that you can customize and several rice bowls which are curry based. Fried Tandoori Wings ($6/4*) You get 4 nice sized wings for this price. Generous price as other trucks would want at least $10 for an app of this sized. The wings are marinated but not strongly then it is fried til pretty crisp. No coating and no texture from dry spices but because of the wet marinade the wings get pretty dark in the fry. I actually liked their simple fried chicken; it had a unique flavor, and it wasn't crazy dry. I would definitely get these again. Chicken Tikka Wrap ($13/4*) This is straight up an Indian burrito. Exact same size and look of a Mexican burrito. Large warm flour tortilla filled generously with basmati rice, a light handful of lettuce and a good scoop of chicken tikka masala which I think most people know because it is a popular Indian dish that most non-Indian know/like. A gateway dish if you will. Now all flavors and textures were decent. The chicken was quite tender bathing in that creamy and spicy tomato sauce that totally absorbs into the rice. Lettuce gets soft and wilted from the heat of the other ingredients. Wished there were another element in there to give it more diversity in texture maybe some of their chickpea masala (which you can actually choose as a protein choice). Maybe next time I'll ask for half n half. I also thought that this was going to be wrapped in some Indian flatbread which I think would have made it more special versus just a standard flour tortilla. But for $13 this was still a very filling and flavorful meal. I actually got 2 meals from this hefty burrito. If I run into this truck again I'm going to try the samosas and the goat curry rice bowl. Arun was very easy to work with. We were able to quickly determine a menu and he gave a very fair quote for the amount of options he was providing. There were various meat, vegetarian, and gluten free options. Arun and his team at Ampuli arrived promptly and on time for the event. The site was very thrilled with the quickness of service and the quality of food. I was able to try the vegetarian biryani and vegetarian curry. The flavors were great and the food was very aromatic! No complaints at all. I would recommend Ampuli for work events anytime!

The fajitas plate was $20.88 and could easily serve two people, it came with sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato slice, meat and veggies, and beans and rice. The chile relleno wasn't as crispy as I'd hoped, since it was drenched in sauce, but it did have a nice cheese pull. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.

I opted to do the drive through as I didn't see any available street parking right in front of the ice cream shop. The first confusing thing for me was how to get into the drive through line, as I was coming from the wrong direction. There were no signs for this. Eventually I pulled up and asked one of the workers, and she said the drive through line entrance is on Neal St, coming from the First St direction. The second confusing thing was that there wasn't much of a menu for the drive through. There's just one small sign with a list of their everyday flavors and another one with some new flavors listed, but that was it. It was a spontaneous decision to come here, but had I known, I would've done more research on available flavors. No prices were listed either. After coming, I looked on their IG page and saw a bunch more flavors featured that would've been fun to try. Oh well. I ended up going the most basic route with a small vanilla soft serve. It was ready for me when I pulled up to the inside. The vanilla soft serve was delicious! I'm used to "lighter" soft serves from the fast food chains, but the ice cream here is creamier and more dense, which I absolutely loved. It felt like it had more substance to it. Plus you can't beat the price! It was only $3.50 for a small, which was already very large.
