I hired Aloha Construction following a hail storm we had last summer. They were absolutely great to work with. They helped me navigate the insurance claim process and worked with my insurance company to get a new roof, skylights, gutters and downspots. The crew who built the roof was incredible - they made sure to tarp the unfinished side as a snowstorm was coming that evening, then proceeded to finish the roof with 3 inches of snow on the ground the next day. They even took off our Christmas lights so that they didn't get damaged and put them back on when the roof was finished. They picked up all the trash and I didn't find a single nail or screw after they left. One of the most atrocious experiences I've ever had to deal with. They are starting to make Comcast look good. They replaced my roof before and it went flawlessly. Now I am two months in with a giant hole in my roof that they were supposed to fix nearly a month ago. Daren never calls you back. And I'm screwed because I'm under contract with them. However, no one showed up or called. I called their office and left a message with their answering service. I also emailed and texted. No response. Don't waste your time. I have always learned that the best a contractor will treat you is when they are trying to get your job. I assume it would only get worse from here with them. read more

They came to our door offering an estimate. I said they were welcome to take a look and give me an estimate. They went on the roof and claimed damage and said they would work with our insurance company. What they didn't explain was that just contacting our insurance company to do an estimate puts a ding on our record and we could be dropped by insurance if a future claim occurred. The damage estimate came out less than our deductible so in the end we just got a black mark on our insurance for no reason. One of their sales guys was fine but the other was pretty rude. I would not recommend them and do not let them call insurance until you are sure you have enough damage to make it worth putting in a claim. Lesson learned on our end. read more

Run away from this company! I wish I had looked at the reviews here before hiring them. 62 of 99 reviews are 1*. They replaced the roof. A few months later, there was a leak. Without even looking at it, they refused to fix it. There goes their warranty!. They will sweet-talk you to get the job, then they show their true color. There are many other companies. Do your due diligence, but that won't help with these guys. Their warranty is useless, you will have to hire a lawyer to force them. Sad that they are in Lake Zurich, where I live. read more

Absolute vultures and rude. Telemarketers were non-stop. Only called me once, but kept calling my wife. They got very rude and threatened to "call the insurance company to report us". Seriously. If you do good work, you don't need to be so harsh in storm chasing for hail damaged roofs. Get one or two roofs in the area, use them to market to the neighbors. But if your work is bad, all you are doing is chasing storm damage and never building a quality reputation. Don't be rude when telemarketing, and a "no, I don't want you on my roof" and respect our wishes to NOT be called on again. read more

In February 2024, after a severe hailstorm, Aloha Roofing came out to assist with communication between myself and my insurance company. Richard, the representative, visited a few times and filed claims for me and several of my neighbors. He mentioned noticing several issues with my roof and claimed to have a 70% approval rate on first submissions and 30% on second submissions. Richard filed the claim with my insurance (State Farm) on my behalf. However, when the insurance adjuster was scheduled to inspect the property, Richard did not show up as promised. Instead, a contractor came to meet the State Farm agent. Both the contractor and the agent agreed to deny the claim. When I informed Richard, he said he would not pursue a second assessment. Unfortunately, after filing the claim, State Farm dropped my policy, leaving me with limited options for new coverage. I now pay approximately $1,000 more annually for insurance. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I feel let down by the lack of follow-through from Aloha Roofing. Be cautious when considering this company. read more

We use Aloha (Lake Zurich, IL) to replace the entire roof, and fix the leaking side wood of the chimney. The following are what we have. 1. We signed 2 separate contracts for the job - the primary contract is for the entire roof replacement which is under insurance coverage. The 2nd contract is fixing the leaking /damaged side panel around the chimney out of my own pocket. The claim specialist- Jessica Fredrickson, did a good job for all the communications for both contracts, processing the claims from the insurance company, roof material selection and all the Misc stuff. Thanks. 2. The primary contract was subcontracted to another local roof company. We had a good experience with it. The 8 person roof team leader - Laurent (from Aloha) did good work leading the team. The old shingles were removed professionally without damaging my yard. The work was completed on-time. The overall results look good. Laurent told me there are 8 pieces of roof plywood that need replacement and they did it promptly. The team also replaced the chimney flashing, and removed a few pieces of siding to check the status of the leaking side panel around the chimney. 3. Aloha did not have a detailed list on the Primary contract with me for each item/charges. They just work on the items with charges based on the estimation report from the insurance company after the inspection. In my case, there was an item the insurance company paid for, but it turns out this item is not necessary. Aloha did not find out this until I compared the estimation list and what had been done. I ended up getting back hundreds of dollars from Aloha. 4. I was told there are 4 teams working on the same days for different houses for the roof replacement. Yes, Aloha has a lot of projects and they do use other roof companies as subcontractors. The quality may also depend on what company they are using. 5. My 2nd contract with Aloha was a small job for replacing / repairing Chimney side panels. They did a decent job. However, the scheduling for the job had been an issue. They changed the schedule a couple of times in the last minutes. This bothers me since they delivered the construction material and left them in my garage days earlier, and I need to go home from my office to open the garage door, with the last minute notification. Summary: The overall job quality is decent, but the project management may need improvement. The homeowner may need to check the detail lists for the jobs, and be flexible for the construction date if it is a small project. read more

Our sales rep, Gabe Vergara, was a joy to work with! He was extremely polite, very knowledgeable about the services Aloha offered and the products used. He went out of his way to work around our schedules and helped get things organized in a timely manner. We are overall pleased with the service provided, however the language barrier between those doing the work and ourselves was a bit frustrating at times. We did have a small amount of damage done to our landscaping during the roofing process, however the job supervisor made sure we were fairly compensated. This is the worst company to deal with! They are out to scam the elderly! My uncle is 93 years old. He previously signed a quote with another company. These hooligans show up, pull the original company's signs from the yard and tell my uncle that the first contract wasn't legit. So they get him to sign their contract. I called and cancelled. A man and a woman came onto my property, saying they wanted to give me an estimate for hail damage. They handed me a flyer saying they were Aloha Construction Company. This is a total scam company. Basically, I could have and should have called the police. They were trespassing! They walked up and down my street, telling each neighbor they wanted to check there roof for hail damage. If anyone approaches you, when you did not ask them, to give you an estimate, you are being scammed. Aloha Construction used Covid-19 ready as part of there scam! Only someone up to no good, would walk onto your property and say we are going to say you have hail damage, and your insurance will pay for you to get a new roof. This is a criminal act. read more

Incredibly disappointed with the unprofessional, inappropriate, and borderline deceptive business practice of Aloha and in particular the individual we dealt with. First, the person came out and provided clearly false claims of damage; this after the fact that he had the audacity to say he created this industry. In addition to this he made several off color comments about myself but more infuriating my wife. Initially he was constantly reaching out, that quickly stopped once my insurance company provided their findings. He claimed to be an expert and advocate for the customer, instead he stopped communicating and quickly disappeared once I asked for his report to submit to the insurance company. The only one unwilling to be transparent was him / Aloha. I shared this experience with several neighbors who had identical experiences with the same individual. In efforts to protect our community, I am going to raise this to our HOA and have them barred from soliciting uninitiated business in our community. If I was this business owner I would take drastic measures to review the staff working for them; they are an embarrassment to their trade and give other great companies in this industry a bad rap. read more

We called Aloha Construction as they were referred to us from a family member for the leak in our roof. RJ came to our home and we signed a contract with them on May 23, 2023. Aloha contacted our insurance company and set up a date to inspect our roof. After the insurance adjuster left, RJ told us that he was able to get the insurance adjuster to also replace the siding on our home. We had not discussed replacing our siding with Aloha, only our roof. RJ was very confident that our insurance company would be replacing not only our roof, but also our siding on both the house and garage. He then brought out siding and shingle choices for us to look over. At the end of June, we received a check from our insurance company at which time, we informed Aloha about receiving the check and sent them the information we received from the insurance company. There was 3-4 weeks of communication between Aloha and our insurance company regarding the thickness of our siding and where it could be purchased to replace the damaged pieces, however, nothing was ever mentioned to us regarding the roof. We had not heard anything from anyone at Aloha for several weeks afterwards from the middle of July through October even though we had left several messages for RJ weekly. He returned our calls a couple of times and then we had absolutely no communication from him at all. We also called and left messages for his supervisor,  Brad, who called us back a couple of times and then he also stopped returning our calls. We left a message for the owner, David, who never returned our call. Our last messages,  over a six week time period, were asking to be released from our contract. Only after leaving messages towards the end of October threatening to get a lawyer involved, did we receive a call from Jim. Jim said he was told to call us to schedule a date for our repairs. After sending Jim the information from our insurance company, which RJ had already confirmed that he had received in June, Jim called us back and told us that the insurance was only covering 4 shingles and one side of our house for siding. Jim told us that Aloha does not perform repairs, only complete replacement and would not be able to help us with our needed repairs.  This was the first time anyone from Aloha had informed us about this information in the four months since we received the check from our insurance company and gave that information to Aloha. He then said that he could send us confirmation of termination of their contract, which is what we had been requesting be done for the past 5 weeks. Within the hour, Jim sent the termination letter to us. We feel that we were deceived and deserted by Aloha for four months. They were initially trying to get our insurance to cover re-siding the entire house and garage without any regard to our original request to have our roof fixed. All while knowing that they would not be fixing our roof as they do not do repairs, only complete replacement.  If it were not for Jim, we would have absolutely nothing good to say about Aloha. Their business ethics are extremely poor and we would not recommend calling this company for any type of work. read more

Least transperant company I ever worked with. Donna lied to my face, lied multiple times just to get the business and overcharged me. Now nobody at the company will contact me for a refund. I had to remind the insurance inspector that there was a mistake in the claim. Not sure what was Aloha purpose to be present during inspection Also there was miss comunication about my sheds roof. So I found out the shed shingles were not going to be replaced right before material drop off. I waited days to get proper paperwork for the HOE application. They billed me incorrectly. Wondering if there is a reason why this company refuses to provide receipts and or warrantee information? However, they have NO problem ringing and ringing and ringing your doorbell and POUNDING AND PEERING on/in your windows and your door. I don't understand why they cannot use the Mail?? It is comfortable, unprofessional, and quite frankly unbelievable... the work has been done -they have been paid but REFUSE to give invoices for warrantees even though they have been asked multiple times via text message or phone call and even in person in my kitchen. Aloha was amazing! Trevor was super responsive and was able to get our new roof and siding scheduled and completed all in the same week! He worked with our insurance adjuster to get the insurance side of things going. Day 1, a huge crew decended on the house for our new roof. They noticed a part of the decking had a hole that the previous roofer had just shingled over. THey could have done the same but they didn't. They went ahead and fixed it! Day 2 was the siding. A new crew came to the house and took off all the old siding and had the new siding on with new insulation (none before) and had it all done in a day! Aloha does not stand behind their work. I had a new roof installed, most of the roof plywood replaced, ice and water shield installed, and new gutters and downspouts. The roof leaks, the chimney flashing is causing problems, and the gutters don't drain. When I brought the problem to their attention they were belligerent and argumentative. Horrible and predatory. If I could rate them negative I would. Knocked on our door after a storm and told us we had roof damage. We had no idea. We had decided to take their advice and get a new roof. Unfortunately we had decided to not go with them after their 3 day cancelation policy, which charges the customer 15% of the cost. They had done nothing. Nothing was ordered. We didn't even select a roof color. They claimed that there was a cancelation form in a packet they gave us with paperwork. There was no form. They emailed my husband telling us that they are now charging us $3600. For nothing. We will be using my husband's corporate attorneys to fight this. They are scam artists.
