going back to 2015 we had our roof replaced by Aloha Condstruction Inc. when done it looked very good. but months later when we came home from our vacation. i found a black spot on my ceiling by our fire place. so i called a general contractor. He found the ceiling was soft and wet .he replaced the ceiling and wall by the fire place. For 800 dollars. so i called Aloha. to make a long story short they told me not there problem. That my roof has a water leak. so i called J.D.W. services in Fox Lake . i was told Aloha did not install weather shield around my fire place chimney as needed. so J.D.W. installed weather shield and fixed what was needed to be done . that coast 2.279.00. so after Aloha installed my roof. i had to pay 3.000 x dollars to fix a water leak.You can come to your own conclusion to my story. There is nothing more that I hate than a pushy door to door salesman especially a storm chaser. We have a no soliciting sign clear as day on the door but that doesn't stop these guys! Not only do they ring the door bell then it's followed by a loud knock on the side panel window. We don't answer and of course there's a stupid flier left in the door. We have security cameras so when u come and we are not here we still see your annoying asses. If I had no roof at all I wouldn't go with your company. I have a no soliciting sign for a reason I don't buy door to door products snd the worst part is the last flier that was left had a name and number written on there saying please call. The worst workmanship around. Don't return phone calls. Had to come back a few times to repair the poor workmanship on roof. including replacing rotted wood that was not do the first time. Sent two guy to install a storm door after months of waiting and after seeing the door hanging crooked I ask if they know how to install a storm door. Both of them said no. Still no door installed. This company was so greedy on getting contacts to our neighborhood to fix hail damage. Unable to provide the services timely. It's been 4 months now and still not able to provide the date on when they can complete the job. Keep promising every week. Update: Finally, after the long wait and multiple unpleasant phone call Aloha crew finally came and started the work. until they they found out that 8 of the windows delivered are all wrong, well was told they will have it corrected in two weeks, then while installing the sliding door, they noted that it was the wrong side. Kept the door and will wait again for the correct door. So it's it's been almost 4 weeks again and Aloha came yesterday to remeasured the windows and sliding door so they can order the exact size. Do not let this company into your home. All they are interested in doing is taking your insurance claim. Their sales people, although very polite, are flat out liars. They convinced my wife that there was something wrong with our siding. They did the leg work and contacted the insurance company to initiate a claim. Once the claim was approved, they replaced all the siding on my house in ONE DAY. Now, if they did a good job, I would be impressed. THEY DID NOT. As soon as they finished their work (and by work, I really mean as soon as they finished damaging my house) I started having leaks in the basement. Whenever it rains or whenever the snow melts, there is water leaking into the basement. The biggest mistake I made was to release the funds from the insurance company to these crooks. As soon as they received their money, they told me it was a pre-existing condition. IT WAS NOT. Also, read other yelp reviews, this has been reported before! Please believe me, these people WILL damage your house. They WILL lie to you. And, they WILL leave you with a huge problem. Whatever they promise you, IT ISN'T WORTH IT. My recourse? Whenever I see one of their ridiculous signs on someone's lawn, I will knock on the door and tell the homeowner (or should I say their next victim) of my experience. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau. I will report their work and the damage they've caused to State Farm. And if I have to, I will sue them in small claims court. All the windows of our condo were replaced by Aloha Construction, as recommended by Parrish Collection Kauai (who was managing our unit at that time). A few years later, the windows started leaking. Found out after consulting with many other contractors, the workmanship was shoddy, shortcuts were taken (improper flashing etc.), and now these have to be replaced only a few years later. Talking with the owner didn't help - he claimed it was the fault of the windows (defective locks) and the maintenance of the windows. He does not back the work. We have since heard of several other owners in our complex who have had similar issues with their windows by Aloha Construction. Warning - do your homework and read reviews before selecting a contractor for such important work, especially on a tropical island. Not many reputable contractors on Kauai, but there are a few. I think we have found one, but will know once the work is done. read more

I wish I had checked Yelp before hiring these guys to do my roof. The salesman talks a big talk but the crew that comes does whatever they want, not what you discussed with the salesman. I actually caught them covering up rotted wood on my garage and waited for hours for them to bring a sheet of plywood. They said they would be done in one day and it took two, I wasn't surprised, I was surprised they said they could finish in one day. They refused to change what I believe is rotted decking on my roof so one side of my roof is still totally wavy..... Do not use these guys! It is not worth the hassle. We called Aloha on a recommendation from a friend. we wanted to have a roof replaced. They came with all the promises of the insurance company will pay for it. Don't worry about a thing. We signed a contract which I was hesitant to do but was reassured that all will be fine. We got the estimate of what the insurance company would pay, sent the letter over to Aloha and never heard back from them after being told that Brad would call me back that evening. Update - My house is still not finished nor up to code. Aloha talks a good talk, but they do not deliver. My house is not the only house in Schaumburg that is not up to code. The second house is owned by an elderly couple with health issues. They have been experiencing the same issues. The Village of Schaumburg is getting involved so much that Aloha will not be issued any future permits. It would be in Aloha's best interest to pay attention and fix my house and the elderly couples house before our houses are damaged from the weather. Shame on you all. read more

I had really bad storm damage from the storm back in August of 2020 in Wheaton/Warrenville area. I would not refer this company to anyone. I appreciate that everyone who spoke to me was willing to wear a mask. They were very thorough in verifying my preferences in color on shingles, drain spouts, and gutters. They double checked with me at the time of installation. Part of my project is not yet complete but I don't think that is unusual given the volume of hail damage and needed repairs in our area. The work that was done overall was good although it took them 2 months to finish though. The company and the majority of it's employees are complete trash. They offer to cover part of your deductible and then charge your insurance company for work they don't intend to do to recoup that money. So I basically paid them to repair my gutters even though they didn't touch the gutters. I had to fight with them to fix the damage on the siding that they billed my insurance for. They broke one of our lawn ornaments and blamed us for not moving it and one of the workers urinated in our yard! If you ever have to work with Jim Nicolette from Aloha, turn and run. The guy is a disrespectful coward that bad mouths his customers and then blames the salesman for answering the phone in front of the customer. Horrible company to deal with. They just did our roof and ripped off the insurance company. We dealt with a Mike, who was a creep and a liar. Mike was not up front with the cost of the roof, nor the so called contract he brought to the initial visit. The materials sat at the end of our driveway for over a month. WORST ROOFING Company! Don't go with these guys. Scammers! They are only "nice" when they want your business and come around for a "free roof inspection". I had my roof replaced in Nov and now I have a leaking roof. After several calls with no response, they finally came out and said it was not their issue. I found out they never replaced a metal flashing above garage and now I have mold. Never had this issue before. See pic below w MOLD. Plus they left a mess in my yard and neighbors and ripped my screens. Spoke some Danny guy and told me he "doesn't care what I think"....TRUST me don't use these guys. Consider yourself warned. Talk about pushy sales representatives and crocked scammers!! They really don't take NO for an answer. Coming to someones house smelling like an ash tray and ringing the doorbell twice a day is unacceptable and unprofessional. After telling them NO several times they still come and bother us, not to mention they knocked on my door so hard it startled me kids. They even Told us they can inflate our claim and we can pay less of a deductible and is normal practice. Umm, that is unethical and against the law. After the repressive told me that I knew these guys are scammers and desperate for business. My neighbor down the street had the same complaints. I was so pleased to find a company that stands behind their work. Eddie B knocked on my door and offered to inspect my house for free to see if I had suffered any storm damage. Not only did he find damage, he helped me he my whole roof replaced using my insurance. My roof looks awesome! They upgraded my shingles and vents too. They said that's standard for them. The whole process only took about 8 weeks from when Eddie knocked on my door to work being completed. I will always call Aloha when I need help with my house. read more

I am familiar with Aloha as they helped a friend of mine with some wind damage to her roof/fascia. They kept her updated, worked with her insurance company and got the work done in a timely and quality manner. Very impressive. So I called them when I had a number of roof shingles blown off my roof, water stains in two places and a cracked window. Again they handled everything and made my life very easy. If I had any negative criticism, it would be that they left a cable/wire hanging from my two story roof, my driveway had tar marks, I had to pick up nails on the driveway every time it rains, and one of my gutters is now crooked. None of these are huge so no biggy. Overall, my rating is 4 star!!! Thanks Aloha. read more

This review is based on a canceled contract. No work was done. Here's what Aloha did: 1) A very nice guy came to the door and said that based on a storm that happened 362 days ago, our insurance company had to agree to an inspection if we requested one. The deadline for requesting an inspection was implied to be 365 days after the storm. 2) The very nice Aloha guy gave me a contract to sign "as a formality" so they could get the insurance inspection. I noticed the fine print gave Aloha the right of refusal after the insurance approved, but didn't give the homeowner the same right. I told Aloha to write in the comments, "subject to client approval after inspection." Very Nice Guy agreed, saying "We don't work that way." (Meaning, presumably, that they don't strong-arm people.) 3) The insurance examiner met Very Nice Guy at the house the next day. 4) I got a call that night: "Your insurance examiner has agreed to replace your roof." Aloha wanted to come over asap so I could choose the roof tiles. 5) I said I was not ready to make a decision. Very Nice Guy said, "My supervisor gets a little pushy about starting work once the contract is signed." I told him the supervisor could call me. 5) Supervisor called me and tried to strong-arm me into agreeing to start work. First he said, "You signed the contract." I told him about the added comment about client approval. Then he said, "We're very busy so we need to schedule this now." I told him I was gathering estimates and would get back to him. Then he said, "I did the work to get this insurance approval for you so I expect to get this work." 6) I called the insurance examiner who said, "I was very clear with Aloha that I CANNOT approve a claim." The examiner makes a recommendation, sends it to insurance, and it takes 1-2 weeks for a decision. THIS CLAIM HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED BY MY INSURANCE. 7) I belatedly realized there is a whole section of fine print on the back of the contract. One provision says if I decide not to use Aloha, I owe them 15%. Another says if they start work and then cancel, I owe them more. That is apparently why they were in such a hurry to get me to choose roof tiles, which presumably constitutes starting the work. 8) I faxed over a cancelation within the allotted 3 day period (also on the back page fine print) and texted Very Nice Guy and his supervisor to let them know the contract is canceled. My D'Oh! moments: - talking to someone who came door to door - buying into the "you only have 3 days left to get a guaranteed inspection" pressure - not turning over the contract to look for fine print on the back page (D'Oh! squared) My recommendation to you: if you get caught with a signed contract after the 3 business day cancelation period has ended, call your insurance and cancel the claim. If they haven't approved it yet, that may void the contract because the contract says it is subject to insurance approval. (Don't know that for sure, but it's worth a try.) read more

Aloha did our roof, siding and windows last summer.  While there were issues with the roof and siding, the window installation was a nightmare.  We ordered 4 windows and a patio door.  The wrong style windows were delivered twice and the patio door didn't open in the right direction. One of the "fixed" windows didn't fit and another "fixed" window slid in the wrong direction.  Communication was non existent.  I had to call for status if I wanted to know what was going on.  Return calls were seldom made - I had to call back.  We waited all day for someone to come out to install the window and they never showed.  Again, no phone call.  It took 6 months for the windows to be finished. read more

My insurance adjuster met with them on the roof and said there was NO damage and that they have had issues with these guys in the past with false claims. READ what they have you sign as well - they claim you have to sign a form for them to contact your insurance company, but on the other side of that form is a paragraph that states ONLY ALOHA can do the work. So, we hired them to replace our siding and other stuff that needed to be done after hail damage. There weren't a heck of a lot of colors to choose from. After it was all said and done, they NEVER wrapped our windows. Donna verbally promised this is included when doing up the contract. Big rip off and they didn't honor what they told us. Absolutely NOT acceptable. Their customer service is terrible. Why doesn't anyone in this business have a conscience? We had to ask them to come back after the workers left because there was trash everywhere. 2 new guys I've never seen before came back after a week and apologized but I thought this whole experience was awful. At first this company seemed great. They offered to help replace our window screens after hail damage. But the communication was terrible. I would reach out and not hear back for days. Then I'd hear back and they'd say "we'll be out tomorrow" and several days would pass. The sales manager who came out to me was incredibly rude the first time. The second time he was kinder, but only once I was handing over a large sum of money. I wish I hadn't given them all the money - the window frames barely fit back in, and two of them have huge gaps. I've tried contacting several times about it, since I can't even open those windows without big bugs coming in, and no one has gotten back to me. You'd think they'd care about the quality of their work and consistent communication. read more

I am living in Algonquin, IL. Aloha replaced my roof on Nov 2018. For 4 months with new roof, I've called them 4 times to come and fix my roof because many shingles flew off. The first time in February 2019, one third of my roof flew off because of high wind. Every time you called a messenger took a message and never delivered the message. I have to keep calling and calling. It is my mistake for not doing enough research on this company. It is my biggest mistake for hiring this company. Well, let see how long this company will be survived. At least for now, I don't think they will have any work in my neighborhood because they all know about this. Too bad Yelp don't have Zero star. DO NOT USE ALOHA!!!!!! Very shady, incredibly unprofessional. Do not deal with Ryan Behnke or Jim his manager. Everything Ryan said was a lie, he made my husband and I believe that he would help us through the process of having our roof and siding replaced. He ended up not even showing up to our inspection, and once Aloha found out our insurance wasn't going to replace our roof, they ghosted us. I had to call the office several times to try to get some answers. We never got answers, but did receive an angry call from Jim( supposedly Jim, sounded like Ryan) saying we should be angry at our insurance company, and complain to them. I actually put him on speaker when he called me back, my coworker was listening at him yelling at me, I let him know that he was so rude and hung up on him. Please, please do not use this company, they are just looking for sales at your expense, they do not care and make you feel you can trust them. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! We called Aloha after admiring our neighbors new siding and the guys were prompt in assessing the light hail damage and helpful as we filed an insurance claim. They completed the work promptly and thus far we are very happy with the final product. The install crew worked hard and cleaned up fairly well (although I am still finding random nails in my flower bed and grass... there are so many when pulling off aluminum siding!) We have one spot that was overlooked by them (and me) in the final walkthrough but as I've reached out to our representative, he's been responsive and I trust the company will follow through.
