Professional service, highly recommend We recently moved into our new home and had major issues with our brand new LG front load appliances because they are "smart" and will tell you something is wrong. It turned out that our vent was the issue. We hired Aloha to inspect and clean out our dryer duct. Joe was courteous, professional, honest, and really gave you the sense that he cared. We had not been able to use our dryer since we bought it which was about a week by the time we called Aloha. Joe could tell that we were getting a little desperate and made an emergency run to our property on the same day we called him. The Aloha team cleaned our dryer vent from the roof to the laundry room and back and were very thorough. The amount of debris they cleared from the vent looked like it hadn't been cleaned ever! We just had the opportunity to have Aloha Home Services repair our fireplace. The owner of the company is Joe. I don't know if you have dealt with fireplace companies before, but it really opened our eyes. Unlike most companies that will give you a free estimate for their services, fireplace companies will do a "inspection" and charge you anywhere from $89-$449. Joe's company charges $99 for an inspection. What makes his company different from the other fireplace companies is that he will credit the $99 towards a repair or service. We got three estimates and three opinions. Joe was the most knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. He was also fairly priced. Joe also took it upon himself to see that two vents needed to be repaired... Which he did at no charge to us. We also wanted to deal with Joe's company because he is the owner and he was the one that was giving the estimate and inspection. He also was the one that would be doing the work. He brought another person with him to complete the big job we had. Eric was also very knowledgeable and helpful. They both had an awesome work ethic, took care of our floors and our home while doing their work. They were also punctual. And last but not least, communicated and responded to our questions and concerns. They cleaned the firebox thoroughly, repaired it and painted it with a protective paint. Also repaired the fireplace crown (which was cracked and needed reinforcement to prevent unwanted water intrusion). Removed the inoperable damper and replaced it with a damper cap with a lifetime warranty. They used quality materials and supplies. I checked their reviews. Aloha Home Services has amazing reviews! He is professional and knowledgeable. He replaced our chimney chase cover, cleaned the chimney and washed our solar panels. While he was on our roof he noticed some roof tile caps needed to be resealed and some vent covers that had cracked and needed sealing. He took care of both those issues. I am so grateful I found Joe and Aloha Home Services. I was looking for chimney sweep and gutter repair services. I suspected other issues with our fireplace/chimney because of smoke and a gas smell that had been coming from the fireplace for a while. However, the previous professionals that had come out to our house had said that only a chimney sweep was needed and it would fix the problems. After seeing all the positive reviews, I contacted Aloha Home Services and Joe immediately responded to set up a time to come out to our home. Once Joe got to our house, it was immediately clear he knows his stuff and much more than any of the other "professionals" that had been out to service our fireplace/chimney. He thoroughly explained what he was going to look at and why, I could tell he actually cared about being detailed and making sure I fully understood what he was looking at. After a thorough review, Joe diagnosed the cause of the smoke and gas smell coming from our fireplace. He recommended a firebox cleaning and chimney repair to go with the chimney sweep, because it was clear the brick on our chimney and our fireplace was worn down and had cracks throughout. I was not surprised by this since our house is over 50 years old and I don't know if the fireplace/chimney had been serviced with anything more than a chimney sweep over that time. Joe gave a quote for the services and I couldn't believe it because the same services would be quote 2-3 times more by most other companies. I told Joe to go ahead with the job and he immediately got to work with his assistant, Eric. Once he got to work, I could see a lot of the brick on our chimney/fireplace fall off with just a touch because it was so worn down. I cannot believe none of the previous "professionals" noticed this. Joe and Eric spent several hours over cleaning our fireplace and sealing all of the cracks, and repairing our chimney, re-securing the brick and sealing the base to stop leaking. They also went around the roof and took care of other minor issues that they spotted around the house, even though this wasn't part of what they had to do. Joe and Eric finished the job very timely (including the chimney sweep, gutter cleaning, and dryer vent cleaning) and everything looked fantastic! It was above any of my expectations and each of the jobs was performed with lots of care and detail. There was also staining on our fireplace that we had never been able to get out, but Joe recommended a $10 spray from Amazon that took care of the problem and let us put on a new coat of paint. Throughout the whole process, Joe explained each step and showed genuine care the job was done right for me and my family. In the end, all I can say is thank you Joe and Aloha Home Services. I feel like we have a fireplace and chimney remodel for a fraction of the cost. After years of wasting money by having people come out only to provide a band aid and not actually fix the problem, Joe and Aloha Home Services came out and did the job right. On a Saturday evening, power went out in my home in Carmichael a few hours after I returned to the Bay area to get back to work. My elderly sister was in the home and as time went on it got colder and colder and the storm and rain got worse. I had never used my fireplace but in an effort to ensure she was warm and comfortable, I decided to look for a someone to inspect and make sure the fireplace was safe to use. I found Aloha Home Services and even though it was a Sunday, Joe answered. They were already booked but when he learned about my sister, he said they would fit us in..and they did. He said we can't have someone elderly and disabled sitting in the cold. Who does that anymore?! Once Joe got to my home, he connected with me through FaceTime and showed me the issues (crack in some of the bricks inside the fireplace, and some cracks in the cement surrounding the chimney on the roof) but assured me it was actually very clean and safe to use for a couple of days if we needed to. He let me know he would have to come back a couple of days later to fix both items. While he was there, he also took the time to look at our dryer vent and showed us that based on the dryer (which we inherited from previous owners) it was an easy maintenance model so we didn't need to engage his services. And he didn't charge us for that. As luck would have it, the power came back on and my sister didn't need to use the fireplace. As promised, Joe came back two days later to fix the cracks in the bricks and cement on the roof. Again, through FT, he showed me the problem, explained what he was going to do, and got my approval to proceed. Incidentally, he found that my gutters were totally flooded and blocked with leaves. I had no idea. One more storm (which did come in that night), they likely would have broken off from the weight. He cleaned them out and didn't charge me. Once complete with the repairs, he shared before/after pics/video to make sure I was happy and then followed up with the invoice, which matched his estimate. Joe took his time explaining and educating both me and my sister on how to keep an eye on things going forward. The added benefit is he is also such a warm, nice, engaging person and you really feel you can trust and do business with him on a handshake.
