11:46 time stamp of you pulling in and you were out the door by 11:49
M K.

ILLEGAL TO POST WHAT? The truth? It's also sad and scary you'd think it waste my time trying to figure out how to change time stamps and if that's even possible. Feel free to reach out. Don't be surprised when someone calls your bluff "nice guy" Lol change the time stamp LOL: someone doesn't like being held accountable. I'll make sure to post owners response in case he pays Yelp to remove it the same way he pays them to post the business qualities which are all lies. Third uploaded time video bc you're so impressed with my tech skills . You lied and got caught. Don't be so defensive. Own it and make it right . I'm happy to upload the full video if you'd like to do this back and forth but it just makes you look bad and prove THE point. You were wrong and won't own it. Btw it says 5:11 time wise bc this is when I'm responding to you a third time bc now this is just entertaining thinking you can bully me with threats. Response to the business owner calling himself such a nice guy, let me start by saying you were an B hole on the phone when you called me letting me know you're 10 minutes away. I let you know on the phone you were being rude but sure come on by since you're already so close apparently and I've been waiting all morning might as well get your input, but honestly I was so taken back how intense your smart mouth response was I just was shocked. You arrived actually 16 minutes later according to my security footage not leaving with more then 10 minutes. You advised the chimney didn't look that bad but now are stating for review purposes it was?? No thank you, dont appreciate you tooting your own horn. What was really frustrating is instead of apologizing for running behind you felt the need to throw someone under the table that works for you saying that because they have a mental disability they're a little slow... who does that? Why even take it there ? It's rude and inconsiderate of your employees or maybe reflects on your lack of training and then felt the need to compare yourself to customer service that Xfinity has, which by the way is not the best at all. The reason why I'm so upset is you're time no more or less important than my time. I did what I needed to do to ensure this went smoothly by asking when this would be complete and a protocol. If things changed then advise your clients like you did when you say I was over your sudden attitude change when I stood firm with no you're not going to squeeze in a half ass job and call it a 21 point inspection and job well done. Take ownership of making a mistake vs pushing it off on other people or customers to deal with. I'd be happy to upload the conversation stating where you actually said the fireplace doesn't look that bad and it would be roughly a 15 minute cleaning but could be held off and because you're late it would put us past the window of when I said I needed to be done which is 12. I also called your office twice in the am and they could have informed me you were running behind but you wanted to BADLY to make the quick buck and wanted to get it don't hit just as you have apts to be on time too as do your customers. It's not a one sided situation . Be mindful of someone's time and circumstances. And to the employee working the phones you're doing a great job. You're boss needs to own it not scapegoat. Thanks SO much for the FREE headache this afternoon . It's interesting another company came out to provide a quote, and they mention nothing about it being broken and needing to be fixed nor did you when you were here but feel the need to make a comment on the post. Shame on you for thinking scaring folks is a way to close business. Had the unfortunate pleasure of apparently speaking to the manager or owner of the company as I've been waiting for my appointment since 9 AM. Between 9-12 work was suppose to be done it's 11:35 and just called to let me know HES running behind. Due to him being late he's willing on "waiving" a rescheduling fee ..... lol I'm sorry what? I've called your office 2 times this am to check in on the time and got solid response. You're late and you wasted my morning and you're oh so kind to waive a rescheduling fee bc you over booked ? Prior to making this apt I've let them know that I'm recovering from a car accident and that this takes a lot of energy out of me waiting for someone to show up let alone showing up on time . You're rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. Highly recommend the owner learns some table manners or hires an assistance to avoid loosing business. It's also rude to think that you would charge me $175 to just come here and quickly get the job done so I can go to my following doctors appointment when even this morning after speaking to your office I let them know again per what they said the work was supposed to be done by noon . And it won't be. Don't appreciate you twisting my words on the phone thinking you're doing me a favor by waving a fee.. best of luck.

Very old fireplace insert
Sheri G.

I sent out a request for a quote via Yelp on a Saturday and Monday, they sent me a quote for $150 for an inspection and cleaning or $200 if we have an insert. Our fireplace has an old insert, so our quote was $200. They gave me their cell number in their Yelp response and I texted back and booked my appointment for that same Thursday in a 12-4 window. They do offer Saturday appointments for an extra $25 to cover their technician's overtime who normally work M-F 40 hours per week, which I think is a pretty good option if I couldn't have taken time off during the week. That Thursday, I got a call from the technician saying he was on his way. Fifteen minutes later, he showed up at 2:30 and was very polite and neat. He was also friendly and accommodating to my dog who thought the technician was her new best friend. Around 45 minutes later, our fireplace and chimney were clean and he gave me the 411 on my fireplace, chimney and insert. I owed $200 as quoted and they accept checks, cash or credit cards. No Venmo or paypal. According to the inspection, my chimney was in decent shape but it was missing a few things. He also warned me that our insert was missing some key safety components and could be a fire hazard and why. This was important information we never knew about which gave us good food for thought. Now knowing the concerns, we may never use the insert again or have it removed completely so we can use our fireplace safely. The technician gave us quotes for some of the items he recommended that we need to get our chimney in good shape: 8x17 chimney cap - $95 Crown Repair - $140 Installing a clean out door - $150 Regarding our insert which had bigger problems: repairing door gasket and hinge pin (wouldn't completely solve the safety issues) - $150 Remove and take away insert - $200 This was an easy transaction with good work completed. Quick to schedule, available quickly, showed on time, gave me a report and quotes. Then all done in 45 minutes. Definitely recommended

Me cleaning the table next to my chimney. This is the 4th wipe down.

It's so difficult today to find trustworthy, reliable, dependable, and professional businesses that provide superior customer service and, what my husband refers to as, "squared away" people. At the time I scheduled the appointment, the lady who booked it, gave me all the details, including the cost, and what would be inclusive in that cost. Although I scheduled the appointment, I had to work so my husband greeted Anthony when he got to our home. While I was at work, my husband was sending me text messages about Anthony, how much he liked him, how professional, articulate and smart he was. My husband is not a subject matter expert when it comes to fireplaces or chimneys, however he is a retired engineer, and has a strong family history of working with and for multiple companies and people directly involved in "the trades." Because of this, everything that Anthony went over with my husband, was on point. Anthony and the company he represents, has integrity. This is another quality we don't get from businesses or companies today. Everything went as promised by the person that scheduled my appointment. We had a full report by the time Anthony left with pictures and costs for each item that was suggested. Anthony also strongly encouraged us to not use our fireplace! We love fires, but continued use, in the current state of the fireplace, could pose a safety risk. Most people wouldn't want to pay the cost for the inspection, but it was worth every single penny to us! Our home was built in 1947, and has probably not had many if any repairs at all. Note to the owner: I am sure you treat your team wonderfully well, but please continue to do so. Staff members like Anthony are difficult to find. I've been managing healthcare operations for most of my career and people like Anthony, not necessarily fireplace technicians, but in the workforce as a whole, are few and far between when it comes to representatives of your company.

Our 'chimney sweep' aka service tech Joseph was awesome. He…read morewas quick and thorough and left our fireplace thoroughly cleaned. I appreciated Elite sending me a photo of Joseph with an arrival time. (Safety first!). We also got a very thorough inspection of the fireplace, chimney, and chimney cap, with photos. Joseph spent a good 20 minutes explaining each point, what it meant, how to fix, etc. We were really impressed with the level of service and thoroughness. Will definitely use this company again.

Den Defenders Chimney & Fireplace Service

On September 16, I open a new Yelp project looking for someone to install a fireplace cover (glass…read moredoors, metal screen, etc.). I'm not picky about what kind--I just need something to keep my cats out of the fireplace. Den Defenders responds right away, "We can definitely help with that!" They send a technician named Joseph to my home a week later, and he recommends that I go with custom glass doors. He says he'll send a quote within a few days. He doesn't. Now it's October, and a couple of weeks have gone by with no word from Den Defenders. I try giving them a call. The friendly woman on the phone seems shocked I haven't received a quote yet and promises to have Joseph give me a call later that afternoon. He doesn't. Over the next couple of weeks, I try calling a few times. Nobody answers. My voicemails go unreturned. Fast forward to the morning of November 6, 11:02 a.m., when I get a text from "Josh" at Den Defenders. ("Josh" is in quotes because, as I learned later, these texts are AI generated.) It says, "One of our inspectors met with you earlier this year about your chimney project. Just wanted to check if you're still considering it." 'Well, yes, Josh," I think to myself. 'I *am* still considering it.' That's why I've been calling. I text "Josh" back, explaining that I still haven't received my quote. He says he'll look into it. (Again, while I don't know this yet, "Josh" is a robot and will say anything to appease me.) A few days later, I get another text from Den Defenders. This time: "To qualify for these rebates, your chimney or fireplace project must be completed by December 31st." I think, 'Wow. I would *love* for my project to be done by December 31st. In fact, I would have loved for it to be done already! Alas, I still haven't received a QUOTE.' I call, and I call, and I call. It is now December. Sacramento is steeped in its 15th consecutive day of fog. Temperatures haven't left the 40s in days. It would be lovely to use my fireplace right about now. I am starting to wonder if Joseph is avoiding me on purpose. Beginning to think that I am an incompetent husband incapable of managing even a small project around the house, my wife picks up the phone. Of course, this time, somebody at Den Defenders *actually* answers. (She calls from her phone, which gives some credence to my avoiding-me-on-purpose theory.) Anyway, after talking to my wife, a wonderful gentleman named Steven actually--finally--sends the quote. It's going to be $2,795 dollars for custom glass doors. I'm elated. At this point, I'll pay anything. My credit card is in-hand. But, wait. There's no link to pay the deposit. I call to ask for further instructions. There's no answer. I call again, there's no answer. I leave voicemails. Nobody returns them. I wonder, to this day, if anybody ever listens to them at all. My wife calls again, and Steven picks up on the first ring. He says there's been a problem: apparently, he was "never supposed to send that quote." We ask why, and he's cryptic. He says he'll call us back when he finds out more. He doesn't. It is now December 15. It has been three months since Den Defenders told me they could "definitely" do this project. Our Christmas stockings hang on the mantle, but instead of the brilliant glow of flames flickering through a tempered glass door, all I see is a thick slab of cardboard duct taped across the opening of the fireplace. Desperate, I try calling one more time. It must be a Christmas miracle, because somebody actually answers. I beg. I plead. I am not religious, but I pray. I'll give anything if Den Defenders will just let me pay for these godforsaken doors. I'll do anything to end this months-long nightmare. Rosann, the woman on the phone, is pleasant and apologetic. She tells me that Steven is unavailable. That Joseph is out sick. That she's actually from a different location and isn't quite sure what's going on. That she'll get back to me when she has some answers. Within the hour, I get a text: "After speaking to my team, we are unable to get a glass set for your unit." So now, here I sit. My den? Undefended. My wife? Disappointed. My resolve? Stronger than ever. There *will* be doors on my fireplace, but it won't be Den Defenders who installs them. TLDR: Den Defenders strung me along for months just to tell me they couldn't do the project--even after sending me a quote for the work. Two stars because the people we interacted with were nice enough, but I can't recommend reaching out to this company for any kind of custom project.

The problem is never fixed and they want more money but will discount the money that they already forced out of you. Dishonesty and misdirection is their main service. My home is still under builder warranty and I just needed someone for second opinion. Mark promised me free inspection. I specifically told him not to fix anything but just give me a quote and problem list with my gas fireplace. Sends a technician that has no certification or skills, talks over the phone walking the technician in Arabic. The technician tells me he fixed it, charges me $480, later to realize that the actual charge is $250. Fun part, he will only accept direct transfer via Venmo only for payment! Next time we use the fireplace, same problem. Mark tells me, upon contacting him, that there is another possible problem. But since I am a returning customer, instead of charging me $1200 to fix it, he will charge me only $780, and discount me another $250 that I already paid. Stay away from this company. Edit(03/06/2026) Your comment shows pure shrewdness and proves my suspicion of false promises and lack of professionalism and integrity. I have posted a picture of my conversation with you on yelp. And it's not 19 months old but a month old conversation for the work your incompetent technician did on November 2, 2025. Damaging my fireplace and stating that my review is false is very concerning and misleading. I hope no one else faces this. Let me know if you need more pictures of the work your company did and the damage bill from the builder.
