We had an issue with one of the doorlocks at 10pm at night and the manager came over right away, fixed it and tested it to ensure it was completely fixed (I'm sorry I forgot your name so we'll just call you Superwoman:). Yolonda is awesome she has warm smile and had some great recommendations. I'm sorry we didn't stay more days but we will defintley book a week next time we come to Hillsboro. Our room had a stale, fast food-eque smell that would not leave no matter how many windows were opened and fans were on. The bathroom tub was stained and there was mold on the shower-head and bathtub seal. The surfaces had not been wiped down, the furniture was clearly dated and worn down, and the bedsheets were tired and pilling. The AC is old and therefore extremely loud every time it turns on. The fan made a clicking noise with every rotation and at every speed. I was so uncomfortable that I felt more at ease sitting in their plastic courtyard chairs than my own room's couch. First of all, we have been to many hotels over the years for our anniversaries, but I have never been treated like this in the past. They did some special things for us at this hotel that we have never had done for us before! We were amazed at the way they went above and beyond for us! That is where we met Dominique! She was like icing on the cake. She worked nonstop in the kitchen and dining area to make the breakfast perfect for everyone! I'd give this more of a 3.5 star rating for this visit, but the value and other staff helped round up for this review. Instead of a polite "Unfortunately, we're unable to because we're fully booked," the response was simply "No, we're full." I asked if I could at least remain in the room until housekeeping arrived. The reply was, quite bluntly, "No, you just need to be out of the room before they come." I travel frequently and have stayed in countless hotels, and I've never experienced housekeeping arriving exactly at the check-out time, on the dot. Hotels also have a limited number of housekeeping staff, so it's highly unlikely that every room is cleaned simultaneously. It would have cost nothing to let housekeeping start with another room and give us an extra 15 minutes or so. I had to leave my meeting early and informed the cleaning lady that I was about to close my bags and would be out shortly. Just nine minutes later, 1 minute before my husband got there t mo help with the bags, the phone in the room started ringing, urging us to leave. I understand that the hotel was busy, but check-in wasn't until 4:00 p.m, and this entire negative experience could have been avoided with just a little bit of flexibility and kindness, if the staff had made even a small effort. Unfortunately, the lack of empathy and customer service left a very poor impression and left us very disappointed and stressed out. We won't be returning. Avoid if you can.
