I booked a very last minute massage for myself here at Aloha! Super close to Waikiki. They were so nice getting me in and quickly. I had horrible strained calves from my restless legs and whatever they did helped it immediately. This place is amazing! The lady at the front is so sweet. I took my mom for her birthday, we both got the combination massage. The atmosphere was very relaxing, low lit. They had soft music in the background with birds chirping. Overall, the place and the massage was great. My neck and back instantly felt so much better. Decided on a couples massage with my bf! Best decision ever. Called the day of, easily got the appointment time I wanted, the receptionist was super friendly upon arrival, she gave us waters. We enjoyed the massage soooo much. Pressure wasn't too harsh, and massage therapists kept asking if we were fine. Best part was the hot stones!!! Much different from other massages I've gotten. I didn't get the name of the guy who did my massage as he didn't introduce himself. He didn't ask me anything about my issues other than if the pressure was ok. I had told the intake lady briefly of my specific issues i needed addressed, but it was evident they didn't make it to the masseuse, who i had assumed would ask me for more detailed info. But zero was said. While the pressure was ok, the technique was definitely questionable, and I seriously found myself questioning whether or not he was ever trained as a masseuse. After the initial relaxing broad pressure warm-ups under the towel, the rest of it reminded me of the impatient, jerky, nagging movements my ex-husband used to do because he really hated giving massages. He drilled into single spots with such a small concentric movement of a thumb or whatever he was using, with fast, impatient wiggling, it was like he was frustrated he couldn't get the knot out and was talking it out on me. I've never had this type of massage technique. I've had lots of deep tissue done, and yes it often is painful on areas before it works out, but usually you get more deep broad strokes of pressure and not literally poking and circling in with the same movement for 5 minutes at a time. It was bizarre. Usually after a deep tissue massage, I'm glad when it's over because it has WORKED out most of my issues. This time i was just glad it was over because it was annoying the hell out of my issue areas, and I got zero relief from them. I was back where I started within a couple hours. read more

It's just the luck of the draw on who massages you here. My husband got a great massage but mine was very disappointing. I had to let my masseuse know that I needed more pressure several times not to mention my treatment was basically a light touch to the calves and feet. I had an amazing foot massage! My masseuse started by soaking my feet in warm/hot water and massaged my neck/back. After that, she dried off my feet and proceeded to give me a foot massage. WOW! I was really lucky today. I went for a reflexology massage this morning because saw it was a new establishment and it was offering a Grand Opening Special. I had the one hour foot massage which was only $38.00, what a great price, right? I got an appointment with no trouble probably because it was in the morning. I really enjoyed the shoulder massage given while I was soaking my feet, not to mention the terrific foot massage. I will definitely go back and am telling my friends about it.
