I walked in here on Superbowl Sunday with no appointment and received incredible service. I originally wanted just a pedicure, but they talked me into a manicure, too, which they did at the same time as my pedicure. They also didn't question my taste in manicure which I often get at other places (I'm a massage therapist so I need my nails SUPER short, with no polish), which I really appreciated. They also talked me into some cute flowers on my toes, which are hand drawn, not stickers/decals. The best part? The pedicure, flower upgrade, & manicure cost me the same amount as just a pedicure at the place I used to go to in Bellevue. And, of course, the customer service was excellent! And they're located in the stripmall right next to QFC in downtown Bothell so it's a real convenient location. I will definitely be back! read more

Went in for a mani pedi. Prices aren't too high. I got the sugar scrub and the callous remover. Maybe this is nitpicking but when I am paying for a service I expect some good results. 1. I recieved no foot or hand massage as part of the mani pedi. Granted I am new in town but this is usually something standard with most spa packages for nails? Maybe i missed something. Instead the guy pulled on my toes to pop the joints. Omg ow no. I have lupus so joint pain is an issue for me. I stopped him but the damage was done. I had pain in those toes for the following days. 2. It's been a week and I am seeing something like old polish or something on my toes. Going to have to remove it and hope it's not anything funky growing. I think they may have not removed the old polish completely. I will be looking at other places in the future. read more

I showed up at lunch unsure if they could fit me in for a pedicure. They got me in and out in 55 minutes which was perfect for my lunch hour. No pressure to upgrade the pedicure, great price at $15 and the leg massage felt great! Pretty typical amenities, massage chairs, movie/TV, and a sugar scrub/parrafin dip and other upgrades were only $5. The girls were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely return! read more

I have been here about 8 times and mostly have had positive experiences. The pedicures are good ($15) but no need to go for the spa extra ($5). I tried that and it consisted of an exfoliating cream for 2 minutes and a hot towel to wipe it off. Not worth it. I think the consistency of quality depends on who services you. I like Cindy who is only there Sundays but hasn't been in awhile. The brow service/tint is done by the owner and I like how she does it. She always suggests a lip wax but not sure I'll keep doing it here. I have tried lash tinting which burned and didn't really show off lashes well enough for the service. Also have had an underarm wax. It was pretty brutal here and definitely would not recommend. UPDATE: 7-3-10. I came in because a toe nail broke and I had to get my feet done ASAP. The person assigned was a bit less than adequate. It was especially hard to communicate with her, more so than anyone else and I think she did a sloppy job. So I'm now up in the air about this place am open to other suggestions. read more

OMG. I want to give negative 5 stars if I could, the lady here doesn't know how to do waxing at all, never had an experience that I had to yell at them. She trimmed all my eyebrows and told me I have no eye brows to start with. I told her I want to do a cleaning. She kept cutting my eyebrows, and she said she's been doing this for 15 years. I have full eyebrows now looks like I shaved half off. Wtf. Never ever come back here again, horrible, and the other lady walked in telling me she is just trying to shape it out forbne, geez. I really love this place that I recently found! This isn't a fancy salon, so don't consider the 5 stars for it being a fancy spa and salon that's better than those places that charge absurd amounts for nails and walk around offering you booze. The place is small, and it's not flashy. But, I do consider it clean and all the staff is very kind! The prices are INCREDIBLE! A $10 manicure?! I've had 2, and both times the polish (regular ol' polish) has lasted nearly 2 weeks without becoming terribly visibly messed up. Check out my pictures to see my most recent mani 10 days after I had it done. For $10! My pedicure I had done last month is still holding up strong. I do wish the pedicure was a little more pampering (longer lasting), BUT I will absolutely be coming back - the quality is insane! They do great at cleaning up your feet and making you feel good. My only critique is I wish there were some more polish colors - some of them seem old and almost gone but there's no sense in throwing them out if they're still working so well. AWFUL! That's my second time there and I can't explain how upset I was with their service. First time I went there with my mom and the owner did a HORRIBLE job on her nails, the acrylics nails were done awfully! Bumpy and uneven! My nails were done by a different lady, however, the lady who was doing my nails was not paying attention to anything I was saying her to do, or anytime I would say anything to her I would revive a pull on a hand, eye roll, or a comment on her native language. She got the wrong color and just tried to blame it on me. My mom went to get her eyebrows tinted and there was NO difference from before and after and my mom is a blonde! She just said that her eyebrows have to match her natural hair which are blonde and refuse to redo it! The second time I went there the lady just put on headphones and did her own thing while eating and not paying attention to me. I asked her to change my set from the one I did few weeks ago, she said it's fine and just yelled on me. The final result was AWFUL, nails are uneven, bumpy, and over all all over the place. Very friendly service and great prices! I went with two friends for pedicures and while we all loved the actual experiences, our polish came out with varying level of quality. One friend has perfect looking toes, mine are decent but kind of streaky in full sunlight, and one friend had polish that looked perfectly fine to me but she was unhappy with. She was mainly unhappy because she chose a gold glitter nail polish and just wanted several layers of glitter, but they convinced her to put a gold base layer underneath and she didn't like the final look. The soak/massage/nail trim part was all great. I didn't get nicked or poked at all with the clippers or cuticle trimmers, and I especially liked the sugar scrub massage on my calves and feet. They did do serious foot buffing but somehow my heels and big toe are still a little rough - I don't think my feet were very bad to start with so I think they could have been made perfectly smooth. My guess is that she realized I was ticklish and didn't work on my feet for very long, which is not a terrible thing. Like I said, the customer service was great! Not only were they very nice when I made the appointment and during our pedicures - when one friend touched a nail to see if it was dry and pushed a bunch of the glitter off, they fixed it for her without being asked. And at $20 for a pedicure, this is one of the cheapest places around. Overall I had a good experience here, and I'm likely to recommend it to friends with a few caveats: ask for an extra coat of paint to avoid streaky color, and make sure your feet are as smooth as you want them to before before they're dried and polished. read more

I'm not sure this place even deserves a single star.... I went there for 4+ years, in the final year that I went there each time it got worse. They treated their new clients as if they were gold and my mom and I who had been going there forever like crap! It went from heated towels and long foot massages and not a single dry cuticle to: 1 minute or less massages, no heated towels, No massages on my hands for manicures, cuticles were a mess and they had us done in 30 mins. or less. Now I get if I had said I was in a hurry to get that kind of service but when I just come in - With an appointment mind you, I expect service. There were women coming in as walk ins who would sit next to us and get better service. I wondered if they thought we wouldn't notice that this random person was getting a much better service for the same price as my crappy service. After a year of them taking our service for granted we left. We went to Tina's Nails (By Tully's and Albertson's - their new location) and have been happy with them for some time. The gals here are very hard working - have had the business for 15 years now - this is long-term Bothell business that wants to do well by you. They stay open all hours and do a wide range of services. I can always get in with no appointment and they have invested in really nice new spa chairs. I have waxing, eyebrow tinting, and mani and pedis done - for years. Mai is the owner and she oversees the job being done if she has new employees working. The employees are not fluent at English but they appreciate if you try conversation not ignore them and talk on your cell phone the whole time. read more

I used to go to this salon when I was in high school, and for a cheap set of acrylics, they got the job done. The nails never lasted longer than 4 or 5 days before turning yellow and cracking off, but you get what you pay for- and at the time they only charged $25 for a full set. The women were all rude, and some even completely incompetent. I have since been going to Galleria Nail and Spa, and have witnessed quality product and service at work and wont EVER return to Aloha Nails. read more

So disappointing. Went in for a pedicure and acrylic overlay. The pedicure was ok, but whatever scrubs that were used on my feet left them so dry. They've now been peeling for a week. The polish job was terrible, there was polish all over my cuticles and skin around my nails. No attempt to clean it up. The acrylic overlay was done very quickly and uneven. Again, the polish job was terrible. And all through both services she kept trying to get me to commit to more- eyebrow waxing, eyebrow tinting (??!?), etc etc. It really just felt like she wanted to get as much money out of me as quickly as possible. I don't get pedicures regularly, but went to get my feet spiffed up for the summer. My feet are dry and my nails are ugly. It was to be a treat, but I left embarrassed. The owner suggested 'medicine' for my 'yellow nails', and this was loudly in front of a salon full of people. I've been coming to this place for about the last 4 years. They have great prices and I've always had great service!! I always enjoy the pedicure I get, $22 bucks is a great deal for all the work that is done! Hot towels, sugar scrub and exfoliation! The couple that owns the salon are very sweet and love to chat! Took my mom there for her first time and the ingrown nail specialist was able to help her with information and treatment for her constant pain from her nail. The best thing about this place is the price. $15 for a pedi and $15 for a fill. This is the best I have ever seen at one of these places. Although I am new to the area and this pricing might be the norm. The pedi was nice although nothing to write home about and the fill was okay as well. They were busy on a Monday early afternoon so I can see that probably on evenings and weekends you might need an appointment. I am looking for a new local for these services and I think I will keep looking at this point but will probably go again if I need a nice pedi for a good price. read more

I normally love this salon, but I had a bad experience here today. Typical pedicure is $18; they upcharged me $5 for callous remover (should be included), and $2 for hot lotion (how is this an extra charge?). If you want to charge $25 for a pedicure, that's fine -- just say so up front. Also, for all of the upcharging, you'd think extra time/energy would have been put into the service. Nope. Nope, my pedicure literally lasted about 8 minutes. Barely a massage at all. The only reason the lady ended up reversing course and taking a bit longer to remove my calluses is because I mentioned my surprise at how quickly the service went (normally lasts at least 30 mins). But they rushed through because there were lots of walk ins, wish they spent more time on grandmother because I was treating her to a birthday present mani pedi. My daughter, who was about to have a soccer practice at a nearby sports field, left a book at Aloha Nails after getting a mani-pedi. A young employee (I think the daughter of the owner?) personaly drove my daughter's book to the field and hand delivered it. Seriously, people. I'm from the east side of the mountains and needed my nails done last minute for an event over the weekend. As a Walk-In, I honestly didn't think I would have enough time to get a full set, pedicure and waxed, all in less than 2 hours. "My" and her staff did a fantastic job! Please do not even waste your time at this place. The atmosphere and environment was rundown and dirty. The lady who did my nails really hurt the tips of my fingers. I don't know how she was doing it but it felt like I was being burned. She at one point pulled out a nail polish to do a french manicure, but after I paid and gave a tip, she switched it. This polish turned yellow within a few days and when I tried to remove it, it was all gooey and hard to remove. I don't know why she switched...maybe she didn't like the tip I gave which would be 15%. Also the fills she gave me was horrible. My nails had cracks and weird lines. She didn't do the whites very well and already you could see a gap between the pinks of my nails and the whites of the tips. That should only happen after my nail grows, not when you walk out the door. Uggh! This whole experience has led me to just give up on doing acrylics and fills. I can't seem to find a decent place to do fills.... read more

It was slightly awkward because there was no one at the front desk (everyone was busy working) so I just sat there quietly for about 10 minutes. I walked into the empty salon and asked if I could have an infill on my acrylic nails. An old woman said yes, had me take a seat then proceeded to keep getting up and sitting back down then chatting with someone who had walked in. She finally started on my nails, filing two right down then proceeded to walk off again!! I asked if she was too busy (3 nail techs, no other paying customers) and she said "yes, leave! I am too busy"!! I have never experienced anything like it! I was told not to go there as they weren't very good but I am still shocked by how I was treated!! I can see why the place was deserted. My husband purchased $100 in gift certificates last Christmas. My daughter and I went in to get our nails done and they refused to honor the gift certificates. The owner Mai said they were expired. I explained to her (and so did her employee) that gift certificates don't expire in the state of Washington. She refused to honor them. I am sad to say, I won't be going back. read more
