I love this cafe near the airport! We just did the helicopter tour when we were looking for a coffee nearby the airport and found this place. Tried iced beige and it was very good. My friend liked his drip/brewed coffee, too so the next day before going to the airport to fly to Honolulu - we dropped by again to grab our quality drinks from this place. There's a lot of parking spaces and the cafe is spacious, tho restrooms are outside. The baristas are cool. Oh, try their cruffin (Pastry) when you go, it's such a treat!

Want a good espresso true cappuccino here is your place. Non of the fluff straight up a good espresso. I mostly stop here for the Kouign-amann. Moist on the inside flaky on the outside with macadamia nuts. It's not bad service here but I feel like the staff are a lil shy not very talkative. They sure can make a great latte.

Such a gem! I was visiting and found this place! The people were so nice and coffee was made perfect.

4.5 stars. Generously priced AND proper espresso? I'm impressed. What I got: Iced caramel latte for $5.49. They were out of macnut syrup which was the only thing on my mind during our 10 hour flight. Quite disappointing, but I was still understanding about it. After all, $5.49 for perfectly pulled, beautifully roasted shots of espresso? Kinda hard to be upset for too long. Atmosphere: The earth tones in here are beautiful. Simple, not boring. Clean, decent amount of seats/tables. Service: The girl taking orders was pretty standard, but the lady making the drinks was very bubbly and had a pretty smile!

matcha - this is my favorite matcha latte on kauai! great ratio of milk to matcha flavor, and i personally like adding vanilla syrup or honey. service - usually pretty quick and easy, but when it gets busy it can get a little slower and orders can get mixed up, but i feel like that's pretty normal for a cafe ambiance - nice, clean place to get some work done. not a whole lot of seating here but i can usually get lucky finding a seat pretty quickly

Tried the kouign aman today, it was different from any other because it contained caramelized macadamia nuts in it!!! Had the Mac nut latte which was okay would have liked a stronger coffee flavor it was super milky. Wouldn't recommend. Service was quick they also had some blueberry muffins and cinnamon honey scones out. The pastries here are just divine.

Needed to get coffee before our drive out to the north side so we stopped here since it didn't look too busy. Once inside, you'll find a cute simple coffee shop, not many seating available but open space. The menu to simple, and the pastries are located in a glass covered case. The girls inside didn't acknowledge us as we walked in, and while standing by the register ready to order, the girls still didn't acknowledge us. One girl finally came to take our order. I didn't know what the iced beige was, so she said, "it's just like a caramel blended drink". My daughter also ordered a kouign amann. Once our drink was ready, the girl just placed it on the counter and didn't even say anything. Mind you, there were just one other customer inside. I had to remind the girl of our pastry, so just goes, "oh yeah" grabs it and places it in the bag. She didn't even offer to toast it or even say thanks! Anyway, the drink was alright, not sweet at all. The pastry could've been better if toasted. Service was very poor considering it is in a tourist area too.

We stopped in here as soon as we got off the plane in Lihue. Really needed a pick-me-up to get us through the extra hours of our travel day! Very close to the airport, and open until 3 PM. Very clean, minimalist atmosphere with a few places to sit and a short menu, but don't let that fool you. The coffee is roasted right there and is of excellent quality. The iced mocha with an extra shot, for a total of three shots, did the trick for me and was not too sweet. The staff is friendly and willing to answer your questions. :)

    Perfect Cap Breve

Okay this is a coffee. A cappuccino breve. The girls crushed it. On par with the best I have had in NYC, Seattle, LA, Paris and London. It is a cap breve. I love when something is universally consistent and delicious when done right. It is a home away from home for those of us constantly on the go and thus find continuity and stability through little rituals like that perfect cap breve first thing in the morning. Puts a smile on my face and pep in my step. Music is lovely and not too loud but sets ambiance. Not as many tables to work on which is odd as they definitely have the space. But maybe that's the vibe? I think it could stand for more work tops cos I would live here. They didn't even have to warm up the pastry as it was fresh and hot still. Quick service.

General: 100% recommend if you're a true coffee lover. Food: The coffee was great! It's a great grade of coffee. Not watered down. I had a Mac Nut Latte. It was pretty good. Not too sweet. My husband who does like sweeter drinks got an iced vanilla cappuccino and just asked for a few more pumps of vanilla and he really enjoyed his as well! The pastries!!! Omg. The CH scone was DELISH! I also got the Mac Nut filled croissant like pastry. I forgot the name (oops) but also veerryyy good. Service: there was a small line when I arrived a little after they opened. One barista there taking orders, checking out and making drinks. So, it took a little while but not unbearable. She worked at a good pace. Atmosphere: minimalist. Clean. Very cute.

Unfortunately found the coffee a bit bitter (both cold brew and hot drip coffee). The ambiance is nice though, very minimalistic decor.

We stopped by on a Tuesday around 8:30AM and got our pick of malasadas to try out! Kauai Bakery is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of ample parking, making it very easy to stop by and grab some delicious pastries. Service is like your typical bakery, you pick what you would like and they get it to you so you can stuff your face immediately after purchase. Ambiance is cozy with plenty of pastries to pick from in the large display case. We got 4 flavors of Malasadas for $16, which is $4 per doughnut, which I think is a decent price for the size and heft. The flavors we sampled were Lilikoi, Coconut, and Guava - out of these flavors, the coconut one was my personal favorite! The flavor was exactly what I would want anything coconut cream flavor should taste, creamy texture with a pleasant coconut taste that didn't taste artificial at all. It captured the floral background taste that is missing from a lot of coconut desserts that makes coconut so pleasing to eat! The Lilikoi one was my next favorite, it had a slight tartness and a more subtly pronounced flavor - I think I was looking for something stronger personally. Lastly was the guava one, which actually tasted a bit artificial and didn't have a pronounced flavor at all, which was unfortunate. Despite this critique, I would still glady inhale 2 or 3 of them because the dough was really pillowy and really enjoyable to eat. I think that the pastries here (at least the malasadas) are very solid and priced competitively vs most things here on Kauai. I would totally come back to get several more of the malasadas as well as try the other pastry options on the menu. Stop by and give this bakery a try if you are in the area!

The Tita that helped us was friendly and I was going to get a bag of their homemade chicharon but decided against it. She laughed when I changed my mind. They have some vegetables for sale scattered about the small retail space out front. But the main draw is their baked goods and their hot food to-go. I saw everything from biko (sticky rice dessert), musubis, empanadas, suman (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf) for baked and packaged goods. Then they had pancit, dinuguan, fried fish and pork adobo. There were several other offerings that I cannot recall. Pan de sal was 3 for $1 or a dozen for $4. Gotta get the dozen. Parking is in the share lot right out front or street parking along Rice if the plaza is packed.
