    Pineapple Dreamin'.

On vacation, we stopped by this food truck area on the north side and wanted a nice cool treat. I spotted Aloha Rolls and went for it. There was no question that I wanted the Pineapple Dreamin' in my life. I don't know exactly how they did the rolling of the ice cream because I couldn't stop chowing down and eating the delicious creation they had made. It was so tasty and for a couple of bucks, definitely worth it. There is a quaint patio where you can eat your treat with a nice view. We got lucky and there was a cat that came and sat at our table with us. He doesn't like the mochi so don't try but he likes tuna from poke bowls. The staff was friendly and I appreciated their work. I recommend if you just finished eating a meal and want a dessert or if you just want a cold treat.

Da Bomb snack at the North Shore!! Ice cold ice cream rolls. Great flavors and perfect on a hot day. Get two fun brothers working, one get hair and one no more hair.

    Chocolate Overload

Rolled ice cream made to order at the Kahuku Sugar Mill. The dudes running the place are super chill and friendly. They currently have 9 set flavors. $8 a cup. Tried the Chocolate Overload (chocolate ice cream with oreos topped with chocolate drizzle, coco pebbles, and pocky stick) and it was delicious! Stop by and grab some!

The owners of this stand are awesome!

Awesome flavors and so worth the stop! This place is quickly becoming the most popular stand in the area. The food, drinks and atmosphere over here is great, will be back next time I make the trip across the island. Oh! And get the whip cream on top!

First time eating this type of ice cream and glad it was at Aloha Rolls. Amazing tasting ice cream rolls with unique flavors.

    New menu!

When I first started visiting Sunbeams, my go-to was (and still is) Green River with condensed milk. Green River is such a nostalgic flavor for me and reminds me of my childhood. My kids enjoy their Keiki Sundae with comes with whipped cream and sprinkles. Other times, they enjoy milkshakes. There is a single bench along the wall of the establishment that I make my kids sit on while they enjoy their treats. Shave ice is also available and Sunbeams has saved me trips to Haleiwa when my kids feel like having shave ice. Customer service is excellent. If we have a large order, someone will come out and bring our items out on a tray. Really great effort when they can just place our order in the window for us to take.

I chose three flavors sherbert or sorbet - green river, Liliko'i and ramune. All were equally yummy with distinct flavors. Not too sweet which I loved. Great picker upper prior to exercise. I ordered the dragonfruit and lilikoi slush. I really liked the texture of this and was a refreshing treat for a hot day. It was a little more on the icy/watery side, so I wish it had a bit more flavor and honey on it. For pizzas, we ordered the fungi pizza and goat and honey pizza. The fungi was delicious as there was a generous amount of mushrooms and cheese. The goat and honey pizza was good but not as good as the fungi. I liked the texture of the crust on both pizzas. Overall, a solid spot if you're craving pizza on the North Shore.

But its been a steady decline and drop in quality. This is specifically for the Haleiwa location. I've been to the Kailua location once right after they opened; experience was similar but they just opened. Biggest problem: they cant put out food in a timely manner. 30+ min wait for a pizza when there is only one other customer there and 3 employees in the truck. Pizza should not take that long. Pizza: Its OK pizza. The most recent one I got was their Hawaiian (pictured). Very greasy. Pizza is small, one is not going to be a meal for two people. At $23 bucks, its definitely pricey for what you're getting. Sourdough crust has good taste but it either didnt cook all the way through or the grease soaked through and it was a little spongy. Slush: My other problem. Used to be unbelievably good and unique. But the consistency has changed. I Regularly find big ice chunks. It used to be smooth, full-flavored, could taste the fruit; no more. You can get much better just straight ShaveIce with natural fruit flavor at dozens of places on the island. It's a bummer. Ive been a customer since it was a dude and his girlfriend slinging honey slush out of farmers marker tents. As much as I want it to be, Its just not as good anymore.

Cute country feel eatery in waialua…read more Since it's semi outdoors it can get humid and prone to flies. I ordered the coconut shrimp and the locomoco. The coconut shrimp was pretty good. Size was decent and the portion was adequate. 6 pieces of golden flaky shrimp. I loved the coconut shreds on the rice. I wasn't a huge fan of Mac salad and the lettuce on the bottom but I understand why the plating was how it was so it's not a negative thing. The locomoco was dry and overcooked. I wasn't satisfied with this one and it unfortunately did affect my ratings. The party smelt amazing but as I bit into it, it was extremely crunching and a little bland in flavor. I think the gravy was great and wish I had more of the gravy to help the patty. The food came out fairly quickly and the staff was kind in bringing out the food. I'm glad I got to try this place out since I've past it several times and always seem too early or too late to try.

All of the food was sooooo delicious--my favorite was the lū'au which was made with octopus! It all tasted very fresh and much better than the stuff I found in Waikiki. For the big platter pictured in my photo, it was approximately $25. Not the cheapest lunch but definitely worth it! They offered seating both indoors and outdoors. My only wish was that they would have had fans outside or something, to disperse the flies more easily--those were quite pesky. Great spot if you're up in North Shore and/or getting some rock climbing or hiking in out near Mokuleia!
