Super cute Mickey ears makes for a instagram worthy picture I'll give it that. As far as flavor goes the ice is super think and hard that it makes the syrup get lost and it taste mostly like you are biting into a plain chunk of ice. Also kind of pricey but I guess you are paying the resort fees. $9 plus $1 for condensed milk. If you want a cute picture I say go for it but if you want real shave ice this is not it.
When at a Disney resort must get a Mickey ears shaved ice. You can pick just regular shaved ice, with condensed milk, or with ice cream. We ordered one with regular and one with condensed milk. I am not a fan of the hard crunchy shaved ice which this is but I appreciate the array of flavor offerings. You get to choose 3 and we loved the lychee, guava, watermelon, and blue raspberry flavors. I usually love condensed milk on my shaved ice but this just didn't taste the same With all that said my LO did want it again two days later during our pool day so just found I say no. Love that it's right between the pool and Lazy River Service is hit or miss. One of the young man working is not the most pleasant and is very abrupt but everyone else was really nice We were fortunate that both times we went there were no lines. My friend has been to Aulani a handful of times and has never tried the shaved ice because of the long lines

What's better than Mickey ears shave ice on the beach at Aulani? Nothing comes to mind. What's not to love about this happiest place on earth themed dessert spot? It's pure Disney magic. And the colors make for perfectly instagramable photos. Papulua shave ice is located kind of in the middle of all the pools, near a gift shop and a snack stand. The snack stand never has a line, but the shave ice stand is a different story. There's always a line. It moves, and you just gotta be patient. The workers are trying their best. I think people probably come here multiple times a day. At $8 for one shave ice, it's a little pricey. But this is Disney prices so it's expected. Snow caps (aka condensed milk drizzle) is an extra $1 and ice cream is $2 extra. I like getting the fruit flavors. They have mango, lilikoi, cherry, guava, strawberry, banana and lychee. They also have green tea, blue vanilla and root beer. I like that they let you choose 3 flavors.
We got the vanilla, coconut and lilikoi (passion fruit) with condensed milk. Sweet and delicious!! This is a must stop!!

This is good, but not great. I got the flavors pineapple, watermelon, and mango. I also got sweetened condensed milk on top. It tastes nice, but I'm not sure it mixed well with the other flavors. I did like the texture. This shaved ice is big, so I recommend splitting it with someone. The people running the stand were nice. I'm glad I got it to try it out and I recommend trying it to see what you think.
Aulani is a magical resort in the middle of paradise and this mickey shaped shave ice does not disappoint. Not only is it extremely pretty but it's super fluffy and delicious. The syrups are not overly sweet and you can get all different flavours. My favourites are the tropical combos of guava and pineapple. The staff are top notch and even replaced a shave ice for one of the kiddos I saw who knocked their mickey ears right off as soon as they received it. Thankfully the Disney staff came to the rescue and turned that frown upside down. There are some downtimes to be able to get this treat without waiting in a very long line up but make sure to check their hours as everything seems to close relatively early at this luxurious resort

Even though this $7 shave ice is on the icy side and the flavors are artificially flavored syrups, you just gotta love the Mickey ears charm. It's too cute and makes for an Instagrammable treat. For a creamy texture, add on the $2 vanilla ice cream. I'd get either the ice cream or condensed milk addition because it can be insanely sweet if you do both. This spot can get busy during prime hours, but the line moves quickly. Just make sure to wear sunscreen and a hat because you feel the heat while waiting in line. And eat the shave ice quickly! It was melting before our eyes.
Papalua Shave Ice is on Disney Aulani's property near their pool area. We kept saying we would get shave ice, but the line was always very long since it was nice and warm out. They had a pool entertainment show for the kids. Very engaging and fun for the kids around - great job Aulani with the fun ambiance! We took advantage of this opportunity and went for our shave ice. The line wasn't too bad. We waited about 10mins in line. We placed our order at the cashier and after you place your order, you continue to follow the line to pick up your shave ice. We ordered the #3 which was shave ice with three flavors and vanilla ice cream at the bottom. They ask you if you want Mickey ears or not. Which is an extra $1. Service was good. Quick and easy. And as expected, it has the Disney magical experience!

You walk up to a small window and order and wait to be served. It definitely satisfied our craving for some shave ice while we were in Hawaii! I would recommend giving this place a try! Pick some of the local flavors, you won't regret it.

Come on now who doesn't want a shave ice with Mickey ears and you know I just had to...came out here to celebrate my bestie's mom birthday as my bestie is the one that got me into the Disney spirit and as we celebrate her life what better place then Aulani to do so as the ambiance here is just cool and fun! Another reason is my dear friend Nikki has given me the cutest Minnie accessory and that special delivery visit by Nadine had me feeling so special bearing gifts from her trip has me tripping out on the thoughtfulness they constantly share with us all. Like ordering at any local place you decide what you want plain, topped with condensed milk, add a scoop of ice cream or all of the above and I chose #2 'elua which is with condensed milk topping and chose Strawberry, Liliko'i and Guava...let me tell you it wasn't an easy choice as there's so many! Payment is all credit card no cash but they are fast and it's quite huge that no I couldn't finish as it melts faster than I can consume though granted I was taking so many pics lol!! The ice is a bit more chunky not a fine but the the flavors are yummy my favorite has to be the Liliko'i and between both Pāpālua Shave Ice and Mama's Snack Stop there's only a couple of benches so I found myself at a nearby tree. They do close quite early so grab that cool treat as this more affordable adorableness is an IG moment. Thank you so much Nadine and Nikki every thought is priceless more than you know and I do appreciate every bit of it! Thank you!
I mean, shaved ice... how much can you really do it to make it different from the rest? Leave it up to Disney. Well, yes. I paid $7.50 to get the whole experience. Lol. Got their number 4 (eha) special ($6.50) added Mickey ears ($1.00) because I'm at Aulani & it's cute & yes, you need it. The Eha special comes with 3 flavors of your choice, ice cream at the base of the bowl, & drenched in condensed milk. DELICIOUS. DELICOUS. DELICIOUS & refreshing bowl of diabetes... sugar overload but it was worth it. Now, if you're asking if I got special treatment since I have rainbow flavors on my photos... you just have to ask them for it. It is actually a masterpiece of ONLY 3 flavors that create this Mickey rainbow. They have so many flavors to choose from, it was difficult. Only con is... you have to eat this very fast. The ice is so fine, it melts extremely fast. I found myself drinking the sugar water to stop it from overflowing. Plenty to share among 3. 100% I would actually get this again when I come back.

There were so many different flavors to choose from and I loved the poolside shack setting. Soooo cute and refreshing! I love that the shave ice has mickey ears shape and you can choose up to three flavors. Local staff was super nice and friendly as well! I loved their service. Love that the shave ice doesn't melt fast because it is majah hot in Kapolei. Yes, it's a lot of ice, but it's also perfect for the hot temperatures. Beware that the flavoring does go downwards as the ice melts, but it makes for a cute gradient transition. There are some tables nearby. read more

You can order three flavors and add: sweetened condensed milk, ice cream, and/or Mickey ears. I ordered strawberry, guava, and mango and added Mickey ears. You pay and then move to the window where you tell them your flavors. Large size portion that can be split between two adults. Kids can for sure share, but what kid wants to share a sweet treat? Splurge and get everyone their own! read more

The Mickey shaved ice is so adorable! They make the shave ice so quickly and are really accommodating about the flavors you'd like to have. The line was short when I went, so we basically walked up and got to see them poor the flavored syrup on the Mickey-shaped shaved ice. We got haupia (coconut), mango, and strawberry flavors + condensed milk drizzle. In my opinion, the strawberry flavor overpowered the other flavors. My favorite of the bunch was haupia though! The only thing I disliked was that they don't give you spoons, they give you wooden popsicle sticks to eat it. The wooden sticks were really difficult to eat with. It also melts fast, so eat fast! It also might not be the best treat for children because it's quite big. I highly recommend splitting it with 2-3 people! (I saw a little girl throw away a barely eaten Mickey shaved ice that was melting away and it made me cry a little inside ;-;). Other than that, I really enjoyed it! Definitely recommend! read more

Check mark off my bucket list having the best Mickey shave ice!! Customer service was friendly, she allowed me to take a video of the preparing of our order. Hope to be back one day soon. Definitely felt the Disney magic watching my daughter wait for her yummy shaved ice on a warm summer afternoon. read more
Not sure if I would pay 6 bucks for literally water in a frozen state with just tons of high fructose corn syrup but I'm sure people here buying these knows exactly what they are buying so it looks fun to look and eat though and def cools you off in the middle of hot summer read more

There was not enough syrup on the shaved ice so it did not have a lot of flavor. We had to go back and ask for more syrup. Also, the ice was crunchy and hard. I paid the extra $2 for vanilla ice cream at the bottom but there was barely any. IF it was good quality, I wouldn't mind paying the $10, but it wasn't worth the price. read more

They are pretty light on the syrup so it doesn't have a lot of flavor. We had to go back and ask for more because it just tasted like ice. The shaved ice is hard and chunky. We paid the extra $2 for ice cream at the bottom and there was only a very small amount. Not worth the $10. read more
Best choice during this vacation ever! Not only was it refreshing to have in the hot sun but we couldn't stop eating it. We got three bowls of it in one day and then came back again before checking out. Add the Mickey ears, they're worth it. They make for cute pictures but you also get more ice for your bowl. You never want it to end. read more
*you have to be a resort guest to be able to buy any of the food in the resort* Unfortunately this was probably the worst shave ice I've ever eaten. The ice was so CHUNKY and was like you were literally trying to eat huge ice cubes. The flavoring was overly sweet and was so hard to eat. Of course it's 10/10 IG worthy.. for the extra $1 you're paying for the Mickey ears lmao. read more
I love Disney items. So I had to visit the Aulani Resort here at Hawaii. I'm glad they had a few things accessible to people who were not guests. I for one was not a guest (one day I hope to stay a night here!) so until then I will get whatever Disney gives. This shaved ice place is located at the pool which guests and non guests can access. There's a little shack by the scuba tank and you can purchase your cold delight. I got the lychee, coconut, and pineapple and asked for the cute Mickey ears. It wasn't the best shaved ice on the island, but it sure was fun since it was Mickey shaped. read more

Not sure when this place went downhill, but I always remember the ice cream at the bottom being creamy and marrying well with the shaved ice. I spent my time trying to break down the seemingly once melted "ice cream" that must have been re-frozen. The ice cream was crystalized. I hate to complain, but I had to get to the bottom of it. The gal at the counter told me that they freeze the ice cream at the bottom of the bowl and it is what it is. The "ice cream" was literally just frozen milk. Yellow and translucent. Just ruined my whole experience. We come to Aulani annually, and I always look forward to the Shave Ice. Sadly, not any more. read more

Papalua Shave Ice has improved significantly since last year! The portion is larger, the ice is finer and the container is more efficient in catching drips. For $7.50 you can go all out and get vanilla ice cream, 3 flavors and condensed milk with Mickey ears. While it still isn't Waiola Shave Ice, the convenience factor for those staying at a resort at Koolina makes this a great choice on a hot day. read more
When visiting aulani for the day, we decided we wanted to try the famous Mickey shave ice. I was slightly disappointed as this shave ice is super crunchy. There are definitely better places on the island and maybe I should've figured since it's at a hotel. However, I'll give it some stars for being very cute and flavors actually weren't bad! You can pick what kind of shave ice you want and toppings and then flavors. read more

Located near the Lazy River, this is a popular stand that serves shaved ice. You can choose up to three flavors and there's a fair number of flavors to choose from. Pay an extra dollar for Mickey ears to get that IG pic, but not necessary if you're just looking to eat shaved ice. The quality itself is standard. The wait time can be variable, but luckily both times I went it was only a couple people. Also, check the times that it is actually open because it surprisingly closes early. read more

Am I a big Disney nerd who was so excited to visit and get a Mickey ear shaved ice? Yes Was it delicious? Also Yes If you are staying at Aulani or visiting you have to stop by. It isn't insanely priced and it's so refreshing on a hot day. I had strawberry, pineapple, and watermelon and it was just full of flavor and the perfect treat for a hot Hawaiian day. ...I did feel bad eating the ears though. Sorry Mickey! read more
When in Hawaii you gotta get a shaved ice and this stand is just as good as all the others. Popular spot for everyone especially the kids so expect a decently long line, however it moves rather fast. Bunch of different flavors to choose from and the option of ice cream at the bottom; which i highly recommend. Price wise its pretty cheap and worth the value. Enjoy! read more
