Best cupcakes ever!!! Here's my review that's been long past due. We've been coming to enjoy these delicious cupcakes for about a year now. The first time we saw her truck was in front of Mililani Walmart and from then on we haven't stopped. These are the best cupcakes ever!!! She has more flavors than you can remember and she keeps coming up with more! It's so hard to have a favorite, maybe you can get away with a top 20. Maxe is the most sweetest kindest person ever and is the genius behind Legendary Taste. Not only does she make cupcakes but she makes maxerons, illuminatis, chocolate dipped strawberries, brownies, cookie dough truffles, pumpkin oatmeal white chocolate chip creme filled sandwiches, bouquets, custom cakes, the list goes on and on she is just AMAZING!!! If anyone ever see's her truck or postings for orders I highly recommend getting any of her cupcakes or just about anything she sells.
Instagram worthy! This food truck has the most beautiful and yummy looking items. I haven't specifically tried the cupcakes, but I did try the shakes. I ended up getting the Taraji P. Henson. It's an Oreo shake with a bunch of goodies. When I first got it, I wasn't sure if I could finish it (I didn't). The shake itself was perfect. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, it was just right. The treats were all yummy, but if you take a while to eat it, then it starts to feel unappetizing. As for the price, it was $18 for one. It's a lot for just a shake, but if you split it with a friend it'll be worth it. Since I didn't finish mine, I ended up putting it in the freezer and eating it the next day. The shake was still yummy. Overall, I would go back again, but I would definitely share with someone.
I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world. So can you imagine how exhilarated I was to hear that, the "baddest cupcake dealer on the block" would be in my hometown, Mililani. These cupcakes are the most flavorful and well presented cupcakes I have ever had. She definitely captures the flavor of each cupcake. If you order the chocolate covered strawberry cupcake, that's exactly what you'll get, a cupcake that tastes just like a chocolate covered strawberry. She offers a very wide variety of cupcakes, all with cute creative names. It can be hard to choose with so many flavors so I like to check her Instagram to see if the daily flavors are posted. If you haven't had a Legendary Taste cupcake, then you really haven't had a cupcake... so what are you waiting for?

One of the best cupcakes I've ever had! So moist, so delicious, super sweet, best frosting I've ever had. So I had the "tattooed turtle" which had the most interesting frosting. And it was so on point and so delicious. I loved every bite. I only wish they had water. I even had the salted caramel which is one of the best salted caramel cupcakes I've ever had by far. I hate comparing to other stores but so far I've been to Sugarlina, Hokulani, and that other cupcake truck that I saw at Damien. But this was just in genius! So delicious, so on point. Good job!
From my first bite into on of her delisious treats I was beyond hooked. There is a reason Max is known to be your neighborhood cupcake dealer. Her sweet treats leave you hooked. Every time I fly home, I go out of my way to stalk her Ig and find out where her truck will be next. I came home to have my baby shower, and couldn't think of anyone better to make the shower cupcakes. Her creativity matches the divine flavors with in every bite. Almost to beautiful to eat, like eating amazing tasting art. Everyone couldn't get enough of the cup cakes and Maxerons she whipped up. What I love is that every visit to the truck she has come up with some new unique flavor combo that leaves you hooked all over again. Just writing this review leave my mouth watering. Soon as she starts shipping to the Mainland ill be the first to order. If you haven't been down, your truly missing out on a pleasant experience.
I could not recommend these cupcakes more! I normally keep an eye on her Instagram to see what holiday creations she will be having and pre order them. On pick up day she has multiple meeting locations which is so convenient. Not to mention the cupcakes taste the exact flavor she says, I don't know how she does it! Best chocolate covered strawberries too!

My favorites: - Bitchin' Beauty Brulee - Coconut or Caramel Cheesecake - Tattooed Turtle I'm giving 4 stars because the quality of cupcakes are always on point but was recently disappointed when a planned trip to Mililani to get cupcakes didn't happen. She posts on IG when and where she will be, so the day before she posted she'd be there at 1pm the next day. First the times changed then she didn't go to Mililani at all due to a "business meeting."
We stopped by while on our vacation based on Yelp reviews. We were beyond impressed. She is super helpful/patient as we couldn't make up our minds. We told her it was my husbands birthday and she threw in an extra cupcake. I tried to tip her and she refused it! Oh and the cupcakes were simply incredible!!! Great experience!
There are a few things that can make a bad day turn its course around & one of those things are cupcakes (for me anyway). I'm not going to give Legendary Taste the creditability of Hokulani Bakery, but they do score extra points for creativity and variety of flavors & by variety, I mean over 30 cupcakes to choose from (where else might one find that kind of selection?!) I am going to (hesitantly) admit I'm a bit of a prude. I was kind of surprised on my first visit to this mobile cupcake truck to see the person that makes these cupcakes is covered in tattoos and some facial piercings. Honestly, she doesn't appear to be the little miss baker that she truly is. She bakes her cupcakes overnight and the next day at about noon she drives over to the spot she'll be selling these for the day, recently it's been in the Mililani area so you should call or text her to find out. It is best to come earlier in the day when they first set up since they tend to sell out of their more popular items. Once you order your cupcakes the frosting and flare are topped on so it takes a while if you're ordering say a box of 6 ($15) or 12 ($30). The presentation of these cupcakes will stimulate your appetite but the frosting will lose its hold within a few hours. I tried to preserve them in the fridge once but the prettiness slightly melted away within 4 hours. The cupcakes are a little dry and aren't very moist, but the frosting is what makes up for it. If you don't care too much for sweets, the frosting may be an overload for you. My favorite one is: What the French Toast, it's a french toast cupcake dipped in cinnamon sugar topped with maple butter cream and bacon crumbles. My favorite cookies are snicker-doodles and this very much resembles them. Another favorite: Caramel cheesecake, if you're a caramel lover, like I am, you NEED to try this one. My least favorite: root beer float, it tastes like a root beer float and I LOVE root beer floats, but the flavor combination of the cupcake and frosting just didn't work and left a bad taste in my mouth. Don't let the truck or owner's appearance scare you away, it's what's in this cupcake truck that you'll find so many reasons why life doesn't have to be as complicated as you make it out to be (well at least momentarily that is).
I LOVE THIS TRUCK! I knew when I found it- it was going down. Timberrrrrrrr. My kids wanted the intense flavors like, fruity pebbles, random colorful sounding ones, and rainbow macaroons. The two women running the truck had no problem taking their ridiculously specific requests. I'm down with that. However, there is one. The cookie dough cupcake is the truth. I'm Pretty sure I blacked out while eating it. I can't even give a proper review, because I can't find the words the describe it. What's worse? I was BRINGING them to someone's house, and I couldn't even lie about the cupcake. How can you show up to a party with a 5 pack? That's not even a thing. And you know how it is. I got in the car, and they were in the trunk. It was maybe 6 minutes away, because the stop signs can get backed up. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW THEY GOT UP FRONT. I just can't. It happened. It started with a minor frosting infraction. Nobody would notice, right? I would be able to claim it, and they wouldn't even know I savagely dipped my finger in the frosting and smoothed it over. Except it got worse. There was almost no frosting left when I blacked out. I blamed my kids. What a horrible person. And when I went to the bathroom HOURS later, the frosting was still on my chin, reminding me that I am out of control and lack integrity. What's the moral of the story? EAT THESE CUPCAKES AND MACAROONS.
Oh man! So I've followed Legendary Taste on Instagram for a while now and am always jealous when I see all these amazing sounding flavors and I've never even stopped by her truck! So this past Sunday while up at the North Shore for the baptism of a few friends (who love sweets!) I decided to get them all some delish cupcakes--and try some ourselves. I ordered about a gazillion, all different, and felt like I was being a pain in the ass when I noticed she makes/tops them on the spot. But hey! With so many amazing flavors how can you not want one of each?? My husband and I tried 5...yes, five, don't judge (the cookie butter, caramel apple Oreo, Honey, listen!, 24kt salted and a cheesecake one). I didn't take a photo because we literally ate one the minute we got into the car. They are DELICIOUS! A whole lotta icing, so get ready to have a serious sugar rush and it you ate as many as we split, a tummy ache! They are so clever, beautifully made and seriously taste like their names! The icing is so fluffy and whipped up, too. Love love love! Highly recommend her creative cupcakes!

WOW ! We are spoiled with living near Washington DC and having Georgetown Cupcakes close by ... this place is featured in a show on the TLC Channel. However, I have to honestly say that this cupcake truck is simply the Best ! It blows away any cupcakes here on the island and mainland. Selections are crazy and full of flavor and so incredibly moist and fresh ! The young lady that owns this truck is so friendly and went out of her way to make us a few chocolate/peanut butter cupcakes .... the best tasting I have ever had ! They also make these volcano shakes and you can't go wrong here ! They are monstrous ! I would highly recommend finding this truck and enjoy some amazing cupcakes read more

I've been in cupcake heaven ever since they parked this cute little cupcake truck in front of Walmart. I love cupcakes and dessert in general. I can tell you I've tried them all. Of course walking up to order i was skeptical. I was more skeptical when I saw they had over 100 flavors. Omg. How do you choose? Well I was reassured when the cute lady came to help me. I ended up buying 4, one for each of us in the office that day. While eating my red velvet I was thinking, Damn! I shouldn't have shared! ! It was so good! ! Cake was most and the frosting was so delicious. I was craving more. Oh how I wish I ate the Bordeaux one. Can you imagine? Like eating the sees candy bar Bordeaux? I also heard that the cookie dough was the bomb. Well I was presently surprised to find out they were there again today. If course I went back for more! ! Best cupcakes! !! read more

Legendary Taste takes it to a whole new level. These are the best cupcakes (or dessert for that matter) I've tasted...ever. Its an "I could eat a whole batch of frosting" kind of good. I tried many varieties and each is better than the next. They're a work of art! read more

this was my 2nd trip to the legendary taste cupcake truck which has been parked at Wal-Mart Mililani. can I say that a cupcake truck is GENIUS? my first trip I purchased chantilly cupcake (chocolate cake w chantilly frosting and a dark chocolate molten center on the top of the frosting), red velvet chantilly (WHICH WAS AWESOME...and my favorite of that trip). The chantilly is buttery and creamy and I would just like to eat the chantilly frosting by itself. I also got the salted caramel cocoa cupcake. I liked the chocolate cake, but the frosting or caramel drizzle was too salty for my liking Today I got listen honey, drumstick, red velvet and I want French toast. the honey one is supposed to taste like shokudo honey toast, its frosting is a little on the sweet side, but tasty. the drumstick cupcake tastes like a ice cream drumstick even down to the chopped salted peanuts sprinkled on the top. The red velvet cupcake is great with the cream cheese frosting, but if you get a chance to try their red velvet chantilly, that is better in my opinion. The French toast is a cinnamon cupcake with maple cream frosting and bacon bits sprinkled on it...by far that was the winner I purchased today. Overall, the cakes are moist and tasty. The frostings are wonderful and I'm really happy that I was referrred to this place by looking at a friend's fb post. the prices are incredibly reasonable ($3/1 or 2 for $5) which is NOT good for my diet, but everything in moderation is okay ;) Hopefully their fb page will be up and running so we can keep track of where they are daily. If you get a chance, definitely stop by. They have at least 20-30 flavors daily. Thanks for bringing a mobile cupcake truck to Oahu....SCORE! read more

I've wanted to try the cupcakes forever it was difficult to pick what to try. I ended up going with the Freddie Mercury milkshake. It was as good as it looks! Defiantly enough for two people to get stuffed on! We also got a cookie butter cheesecake cupcake. It was also amazing. read more

Holey Moley Batman! For Mother's Day, we visit my grandma in waialua. We took an hour for a short beach break. On the way back from cement city/waialua beach/pu'uiki beach, we passed the Legendary Taste food truck. My cousin mentioned that they had macaron ice cream sandwiches, so we immediately turned off the road to turn around. Haha! We got there, but the ice cream sandwiches were not being sold today. Shucks! We decided to get the cupcakes instead. Let me disclose to you that I do not particularly like cupcakes. I do not go out of my way to buy cupcakes for dessert or for get togethers. I do not reach for a cupcake at parties if there is pie, cake, or cookies. I have had the experience of eating dry, overly sweet, unflavorful, expensive and overrated cupcakes. So, I was skeptical of the cupcakes (we seriously stopped there for the macaron ice cream sandwiches. I love macarons.). We ordered the red velvet, fruity pebbles, brownie brittle and strawberry shortcake cupcakes... 1 each. AMAAAAAZZIIIING!!! The cake was perfectly moist, the crumb was perfect, they came off the paper easily, the flavor was definitely on point and the frostings were sooooo yummmmmy!!!!!!! Uggghhhh!!!! They were definitely a Mother's Day indulgence. I seriously considered going back to order more of the other flavors. Haha!!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD THEM... GOOOOOO NOOOOWWW!!! Gaaaah!!! read more

These cupcakes are by far better than any other! The flavors are rich and delightful. If you want REAL buttercream frosting and exciting flavors this is the place to go. There are so many flavors to chose from so whatever your craving-you'll be satisfied. I love the chocolate strawberry, salted caramel hot cocoa, Nutella, and recess peanut butter cupcakes the best but really they are all A M A Z I N G. Follow the IG to know where they're at.
