Overall pretty great experience. Service was fast and very polite. Lunch plates came out fairly quick and portions were generous! Burrito Jalisco was big... I got the ground beef but I should have ordered the beef asada. Needed a lil salt but perhaps I'm just a salty person. Chalupa Plate was really Good, piled high with beans, meat, crema, and gauc! I love the service and the food is very good. One thing that stands out is the tacos.

We have ate here dozens of times but today was bad!! We ordered a pound of Barbacoa and this is it. Fatty!!! Soaked in grease and fat. It left a greasy slimy feeling in our mouths. Waste of money, threw it all away and kept the tortillas.... Made our own breakfast. read more

I tried to check in at Alondra's Mexican Restaurant last Saturday (Feb. 4, 2023) around 5:30pm. I'm certain it would have been good however, I couldn't get in. I do not recommend! If she would have come to the table just once, I might've left a tip. Had to flag her down once, and then when we asked for a refill of coffee, we never got it. On top of that, I ordered my eggs over medium and they were so runny they had to be eaten with a spoon. read more

Decided to stop by while in La Vernia. They close at 3:00 pm on Saturday. The chips and salsa were good, no complaints there. I had the Tejano plate. The waitress misunderstood and gave me beef and chicken enchiladas instead of cheese and chicken. The enchilada sauce is what ruined the enchiladas for me. That being said, the chicken was better than the beef. The guisada that came with it was very good as were the refried beans and flour tortillas. The rice was a pass. This place was pretty good! The breakfast tacos are a great price and I'm glad that they serve them all day. The menu was easy to read and the staff was friendly. The eggs were a bit over cooked and not very much beans on the taco but otherwise very good. And it was quick service too. Went for oatmeal on this cold morning. The oatmeal doesn't come with toast. You have to purchase an order so you would think it would be served with your oatmeal. Ten min later I went to hunt down the toast and to place a to go order. I suppose the tall non-English speaking waitress got miffed. Our toast finally made it to the table. Thereafter, the tall lanky waitress literally threw our ticket onto the table. So rude. She really needs to learn how to appreciate customers or they won't have any. She's young. The food is really good here but every time I've gone to the drive-through I've waited 20+ minutes after placing my order to receive the food. I can see employees walking around on the inside and no one comes to the window to tell us what the delay is. This is happened more than once. Not sure who is running Alondra's now but I will not be returning. My family has been going there for at least 10 years. We always get bean and cheese breakfast tacos. The main reason we go there is that we love their salsa. This morning ordered 15 tacos and asked for extra salsa. If I can get 10 salsas for 15 tacos that's OK. I saw the lady put plenty of salsa in a bag for me. When the tacos were ready she handed me a large bag of tacos. I drive all the way home and realized they gave me 6 salsas. 6 for 15 tacos!!!! So I drive all the way back up there to get more. When I get there the blond lady in charge said their policy is 1 salsa for 2 tacos. Ok so that would have been 8 not 6. So she gave me 6 more and charged me $3.50 for it. She could have told me up front that I would be charged for the salsa instead of being sneaky and acting like they were giving me a decent amount. So $3.50 later, plus the cost of gas to go back there, and the half an out of my morning I lost, I can now eat my breakfast. I guess I should feel lucky. Half the time my green salsa is rotten and I have to use my wife's red sauce. So this will be the last time I visits this establishment. We have 2 other restaurants here that I can go to. read more

Great lunch specials and prices with tea. Prices are really inexpensive for the portions and great taste. Only thing I would change would be better chips and homemade tortillas. The tortillas are ok. Que asco de lugar. Allow me to translate. In short, horrible is so generic to describe my experience here. Uninspired food is far more insulting especially to my taste buds that demand you step up to the plate, literally and figuratively speaking. First, no towels in the restroom, ok, not a big deal although everything was downhill from there. I mentioned it to the wait staff. Did they care, nah. Chips were brought in a bowl in pieces and stale and with no gloves. Who knows where those hands been you feel me? I got waited on by the owner who sat every chance she got and never came to my table except to bring the food. I ordered their Friday special Steak Charro that came with get this refried beans NOT charro beans. I didn't know that would be a screw up to note. If you know me well, nothing infuriates me more than a Mexican restaurant masquerading as one with STORE bought flour and corn tortillas. Homemade is the ticket. I purposely ordered one of each so I could see if they were fresh. Speaking of fresh I told her that pico de gallo on my plate looked like it was put on the grill. It was black and looked unappetizing. The steak was okay but it was just folded and flopped on the plate with so many cactus/ nopalitos that we're so over cooked and oily they hid the steak. In fact, that might of been a good thing. Steak so uninspired even Omaha Steaks couldn't freeze and pack it better down an unsuspecting throat lol I told the cashier that if I wasn't so damn hungry I wouldn't pay for this food. I said it in Spanish and the owner/manager/waitress got off her butt to ask what I was saying. The lady translated and was disgusted with my response and told me not to pay. This is my family and mines go to breakfast place. Tea is great and service is fast and fantastic. Service with a smile. And it's not only breakfast tacos they serve here. They also have pancakes and omelets and bacon and eggs and gravy with biscuits. Just really great food. Lunch and dinner is good as well. Lots of choices with Mexican food. read more

Again the Cheese Enchiladas are soooo good. This town definitely gets an A+ for this dish. This restaurant serves a lot of people in a short period of time. The food is hot, good and quick.
