Everything from start to finish was amazing!! Ask for the brisket queso appetizer with chicharrones- you won't regret it. The club is so good!

Hands down, Rabel's has the best food, great service, friendly staff and a full on bar. What more could you want from a BBQ place?

Multiple sauce options. The white sauce is SO yummy and different than any other BBQ sauce I have ever had

The menu was super full! Very tasty food! Enjoyed that we were not rushed at all. The place is light and airy inside and very comfortable My husband and I met some friends there for dinner one Sarurday evening at 530pm. It was not too busy. We walked in and there was 1 set of people ahead of us. However, by about 10 minutes after we ordered, the place because very full! Every bite of food was amazing. Moost, tender brisket, pulled pork and very tasty, not too spicy jalapeño cream corn. The coleslaw slaw and potato salad were also on point. We ordered, then we went to get our drinks and sit down. They brought the food out to us. It was a fun atmosphere. They did have what appeared to be a pretty full bar, however, we did not partake. Very enjoyable! The music was not too loud we didnt have to shout to speak to each other. Very nice time for us and our friends!

Service was great. Loved the inside very upscale for a BBQ joint Ordered the 3 meat that came with two sides plus two slices of Texas toast They also have a full car and drinks were great There in house made pickles with onions were yummy One one small complaint the lean brisket was dry Good thing they have there own bbq sauce to moisten it up

The tags they give you with your order number

Very friendly service every time we come. Delicious food. Good sized portions. It's nice and clean inside.

1 meat plate, lean brisket, pintos and jalapeño cream corn

Friendliest of service, really good brisket, creamed corn was amazing and the pintos seasoned just right. Prices competitive for the level of food you get and rivals any BBQ place we've eaten at - I am a tough critic, usually on like my own brisket but this is REALLY good stuff! You need to make this stop if you're ever in La Vernia TX

    Missing burger.

Ordered hamburger no cheese because cheese here cost $2.00, fries looked great. Got hamburger with 1/4 meat missing. Sent back and upon return got fries that were the bottom of the fryer crispy and not fries at all... Burger was sadly not appetizing. Pictures attached. Way over priced, but they are convenient. I'd rather take quality vs. convince any day.

Two meat plate: 2 half slices of turkey and 2 half slices of brisket. $24.

Texas is known as having the best barbecue in the country! We all hear about the big names that…read morestretch from Austin to Dallas to Houston. I've been to probably all of them. Well, there's another one called "City Market" that skipped right past me. Or, no one thought to tell me. It's one or the other because this place is pretty popular with lines out the door! So I heard about City Market BBQ, the same day I drove to Luling, Texas! It's an hour outside of Austin. City Market is in the downtown area, and parking was a breeze; the line I saw on the sidewalk coming from City Market, I must admit, was long, but it was a breeze, too. Now, this is on Wednesday, not the weekend. I hopped in line, the line moving fast. People are friendly, telling me that once I'm inside, there's another door I will go into to place my order. I like to call this the secret door with all the good smells of smoky barbecue. Check out my pictures of the secret door; you can't even see inside. I'm there, I made it inside, and there's 3 of the most friendly older gentlemen I will ever meet in my life. One of them caught on that I haven't been in a kitchen, never in my life, when he started asking if I wanted 1/4 of brisket. I whispered, "Give me three or four, because I'm not good at math either." Oh, we had a great laugh! I sat down, picked on a rib, and the meat slid from the bone! It was so tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The skin had the right burnt in the right spots. The meat was moist and easy to chew. I was like the Flintstones cleaning the bones before I bit into my sausage and brisket. The sausage was very good, and my brisket was smoky, like my ribs. I have to brag about the sauce. It came in a skinny bottle. It was a new flavor for me; it wasn't spicy, but it had a nice heat to it that I loved! I'm so happy I chose to ride down to Luling to visit City Market as soon as I heard about this BBQ place. I would have been so mad at myself if I had waited and forgotten!

The meat was seasoned well, but the brisket was a little dry. The barbecue sauce it's pretty good. They give you pickles when you order your meat and they have an option of dill pickle versus sweet pickles. I liked both. The meat and the sides are ordered in different locations. The sides are ordered at the counter as soon as you walk in. The potato salad was very good with enough mustard, but not so much that's it's overwhelming. The Beans had good flavor as well. We did try the banana pudding and that wasn't great. Everyone is super friendly. They have plenty of seating inside. Parking is street parking and you may have to walk depending how busy the area is.

I took the 30 bus out here, almost a decade before Via service to St. Hedwig was eliminated. I always found the BBQ mid and not as good as Rudy's but better than Bill Miller's. I made the long drive out here the 2nd time when I got my car. Still not impressed. A year ago I came here to try their fish for their weekly fish fry on Fridays. I got 2 pieces of fish, 2 sides and a Dr Pepper but was disappointed with the size of the fish pieces. What's worse is the $20 price that I foolishly wasted when I could've gotten better fish from Laguna Madre and I don't even like that place. I mean who in their right mind goes to a BBQ place for fish? And the last time I came here wasn't any different. The brisket was dry and the sausage and turkey were mid. The creamed corn was ok and the pinto beans weren't hot enough. Oh and the last 2 times I ate here, they were out of my favorite item and the only good thing they serve here, the peach cobbler. Instead I got the banana pudding which was just like those crappy, pre-made banana pudding cups found at any roadside chain gas station/convenience store like Buc-ee's or The Texan. It is roomy and spacious inside and the seating consists of picnic tables designed for crowds of people and has live music on the weekends. When you pull up to the restaurant there's a storefront reminiscent of an old Western film with a 7up logo. Texas Pride is one of those overhyped and overrated BBQ joints that probably used to be good in its heyday which was probably back in the mid 90s to 2000s but then fell off drastically somewhere along the line. Do your appetite and wallet a favor and bypass TP BBQ and make the extra drive to La Vernia and go to Rabel's off FM 775 and FM 1346 and thank me later!

I digress. Let's get this review going: This family-owned bbq joint opened their door just a couple of years ago (2023). Don't let this new establishment concern you because these folks have been at it for years. Their previous place was in Rosenberg and it opened back in 1990. Prior to that , the owner's parents started their first place back in 1964. Proper, generational barbecue...it's in their blood. In fact, I'm pretty sure their blood is bbq sauce. They know what they're doing! The restaurant and covered patio are modern and industrial with wood, brick, and metal elements. Ample seating inside and out. The food is bombastic! Sometimes they have an Italian beef sandwich that I'm just crazy about. Love these other sandwiches too: Brisket Turkey Sausage Boyfriend loves the pulled pork sandwich. The brisket nachos are mouth-watering goodness. They have brisket tostadas that I've not tried yet but definitely plan to. I lose my mind for the peach crumble and the boyfriend loves the pecan cobbler. Sides we love: Brisket rice!! Tater tot casserole!! Mac + cheese Buttered potatoes Do yourselves a favor, go pig out at this pit room. You'll be glad you did! PS: stellar service too

I went in today with my three-year-old son during lunch hour on a weekday and it just felt like the elder crowd was like "what are they doing here?" As I walked in. Now Maybe I'm a little guarded I mean, I'm a single full-time Dad prior military, so I'm protective and observant. Plus, some guy in a big ol truck of course ( mind you I have a truck) decided that he wanted to almost hit my son and I as we' attempted to walking across the parking lot. I digress, but it was to the extent that I didn't even want to sit inside, so we sat on the patio. Which reminds me 91° outside and the patio well well ventilated, w/ breeze and felt good. All in all just an iffy experience. Food was good not great turkey was dry but the baked potato salad will have me back through the drive-thru through.

We ordered take out and enjoyed awesome BBQ from Pinkerton at our hotel room. Why Pinkerton? We check reviews and asked locals, it was a great choice. We ordered ribs (dry rub + wet), sliced and chopped brisket, plus the fixing - the meat was truly outstanding - moist, tender, and the meat, not the rub or sauce was emphasized. The only downside to takeout? The beef ribs, which I called "Flintstone ribs" are only available on site...so it I will have to dine in the restaurant the next time I'm in San Antonio. And based on the line which was forming before it opened, it's a popular place for a reason. Texas BBQ + Shiner Boke, it's a combination which cannot be beat, check it out.
