Chicken here is 5 star. I would give it 25 stars if possible. Chicken soup and salad are good, do not like most of the other sides. I always eat in and service is usually quick, though sometimes they can be slow on the cash registers because they have to deal with all the takeout orders. I wish they could have a dedicated person just to handle takeout orders. What I really don't like is the ambience. The place is usually crowded l, cramped and always noisy. We actually happened in here by chance when there was a 30 minute wait to get into another restaurant. It actually turned out perfecly! First time visiting after wanting to try Peruvian chicken for ages! The ordering area is a bit tight with the social distancing during a busy time, just be forewarned. Once you place your order it's filled immediately and off you go to the social distanced tables if eating in or out the door if carrying out. Of course if you choose a custom order it's takes a little longer. The price is incredible for what you get and the quality of the food. For instance, a quarter chicken with two sides is just $7.49. I think that's a bargain! They also have daily specials. The drinks and dipping sauces are self serve. So the flavor of the chicken is absolutely delicious!! It "Pollo a la Brasa" style rotisserie chicken which is marinated and slow cooked over natural wood charcoal in a custom-made rotisserie oven. The ambiance and flavor of the decor was really cool. I love the interior design and the flow of the establishment. The staff were young and friendly! Everyone was trying to help us... there was one guy who was trying so hard to help us he was kind of annoying as he keep coming by our tables grabbing plates. It was all good because we understood he was trying to keep the place clean and tidy and that is great! For meat lovers... you will love this place. I loved Alpaca! I feel like I can now say I have tried all of the well known Peruvian restaurants in Raleigh, lol! I am proud. My family and I decided on Alpaca because of its convenience to the movie theater + we didn't have a taste for anything else and we have never ate at Alpaca. When we arrived there was a small line but it moved quickly! The guy who served us our food was really nice + helpful and very knowledge about the menu. I ordered 1/4 dark with rice + black beans and corn, my husband had the 1/4 dark with green beans + rice and my son had the leg with double fries our total came up to about $30 (oan and 2 fountain drinks) The restaurant was very clean, my husband pointed this out! To my surprise the flies weren't bad either take it because the doors were opening and closing! There were plenty of places to sit as well. Alpaca's chicken is so tender and flavorful; it's much better than your neighborhood grocery rotisserie chicken. Alpaca's 2 signature sauces are both incredible and one of the main reasons I go to Alpaca. The green sauce is like a lighter chimichurri sauce with a little heat with sweet and sour notes. Let's start by saying I question very much why they are calling this Peruvian? My fiancée is from Peru and I have been there several times and apart from the decor and Inca Kola it doesn't seem very Peruvian to me at all. That being said...I really like the food. The chicken was juicy and smokey and the green beans were SO GOOD. And of course all the fried stuff is good too. Its not as good as other places (like La Granja, yall dont know about some La Granja) butnit was still very good and they covered the bases for a Latin rotisserie with the spicy green sauce and the creamy yellow sauce. Mmmmmm... Anyway, my big problem with it os the price. $20+ dollars for a whole chicken? $8 for a quarter chicken?!?! Thats crazy. My rotisseries in south Florida didn't even charge that much and they had A LOT more to offer in every way (except maybe cleanliness). The place was clean and the food did taste good, but the cost kind of makes it less attractive based on value for money. ADDENDUM: My fiancée said the food was kind of Peruvian. Not entirely unlike the pollo a la brasa you can find in Peru, but she did say some of the details and flavors are not true to form. This matters because shenis from Peru. Apparently I spent all of my time eat ceviche every time I was in Peru and I missed the chicken. What can I say, the Ceviche in Lima is indescribably good so I go all in every time. It's about time that there's an Alpaca on this side of town! Alpaca is also a great addition to the restaurant scene here. It fits right in with the other delicious choices. I like the spaciousness and how will lit this location is during the lunch hours. There are plenty of spaces to sit, even during the lunch rush. The chicken was not as tender as the other locations. When you order directly in the Brier Creek store they give you the right menu but if you order on a home delivery app there are always problems. You pay about $70 dollars and they send you not a whole chicken but a chicken from the Jupiter planet with 4 legs and the rest is leftover (bone). I contacted on the phone to complain and the manager simply ignored me. This is not something new, it is always what indicates that they do it on purpose knowing that since it is home, we as customers must complain again and again with the app until they close our account thinking that customers try to make fraud when really who is being disloyal and lying is alpaca. For my part, I would NEVER recommend ordering at home in any app in Alpaca. read more

The food was very good. The quarter white chicken was juicy and flavorful. The attention to detail was lacking. We ordered for curbside pickup. I arrived 25 minutes after the 20 minute estimated time, parked in the marked spot and waited 10 minutes before going inside. The food was ready, and I left. Alpaca has carved out a niche in a crowded counter service market. They are always busy, which is a great sign. My wife and I split a half-chicken (which comes with 2 regular sides) and added a side of maduros. The charcoal flavor permeates the meat, which is very moist. Delicious! I'm always down for some good quality rotisserie chicken and Alpaca definitely pleased me. We split a full chicken, which was cut up into small pieces, and I thought it was very wise of them to cut the breast into two parts. The chicken was amazingly juicy with plenty of seasoning and not to mention that crispy skin. All three very necessary components, by the way. For sides, we went with Yucca fries and the house salad. I liked the flavor of the Yucca, especially dipped in the yellow sauce (think a creamy honey mustard), but I felt they should have been cooked a little longer to make them a bit more crispy. The salad was pretty standard with romaine, tomato, carrot, and cucumber, served with packet dressings from Ken's. I actually preferred the restaurant's honey mustard over the Italian. I understand their desire to keep the sides close to South America, but some roasted vegetables would be a nice addition to the menu. Let me just dive in. Some days, as a consumer you find yourself rushing and trusting the restaurant to include all of your food you've ordered; so you get home and all the food isn't there. In remembering we're all human and mistakes happen, especially when the establishment is busy, items can be placed in bag you thought was being packaged for a certain order. The Brier Creek (Raleigh, NC) store can get busy during dinner time but the staff has always seem pleasant; however, on August 13, 2024, I placed a mobile order for pickup at the Brier Creek location. Upon arriving to the store to pickup my mobile order, I ordered more food in the store. Once at the counter to checkout, I also mentioned to the staffer at the register that I was there to pickup my mobile order as well. The staffer graciously handed me my mobile order bag with my first name, last name initial (I was not ask to provide any confirmation for my mobile order). I left the restaurant assuming I had all my food. Once home, I notice 3 items missing. I reached out to the store within minutes of being home and a polite staffer got my information over the phone (assuming upon my return to the store the issue would be resolved without issue). At the store, the General Manger remembered one of the missing items (due to the modification made to it). Here's where the General Manager's professionalism begins to waiver, he asks, "are you sure you don't have the items?". So I call my family member to double check and ask them to tell me everything that's on the table in front of them from the order (checking off the items as they're being called out, in front of the General Manager). Unfortunately, what may seem like misplaced frustration turns into him saying to me, "I'm going to do this this time." as he hands me the missing items from the $81.94 food order (plus an additional $9.47 in store order). As he continues to express his frustration about the impossibility of the items actually being missing, I then ask the General Manager, are you saying that I'm lying about the missing items? His response was that "I'm 200% sure that I placed the item (speciality rice) in the bag; I know the item was packed." Let me mention, I didn't drive back to the store to embarrass anyone, I just wanted the food that was missing from my order without any problems and at least some professional courtesy in handling said situation. As mentioned, all humans make mistakes (that's why I called back to double check the missing items). Unfortunately, the General Manager did not use the moment to ensure a loyal Alpaca customer felt appreciated for even selecting the establishment to dine although the evening's experience may have not been desired (missing food; drove back to the restaurant). Yet, I walked away feeling attacked and insinuated of being called a liar because the General Manager assumed that he was packing all items in the correct bag. I also left sharing my thoughts with my family and have asked them not to patron the Brier Creek location even though it is one of our go to restaurants. I hope this review is seen by others to understand what type of establishment you'll be walking into at the Brier Creek location. When I left the BC location after receiving the missing items (given to me reluctantly), I also felt as if the mission is to take the customers money but if a mistake happens at the establishment it's the customer's fault/problem. Today's event was very unprofessional on the General Manager's part in how he handled the situation; furthermore, the example of customer service he demonstrated in front of the staff on-site was very unprofessional. Never once did the General Manager apologize (not even a please come back to visit) for me not receiving the missing items during my initial food pickup because he conveyed to me that he knew he packed one of the three missing items. The General Manager was so caught up in what he may have done that no humbleness of customer service entered his mind not once while speaking to me. I had more humility of understanding we as humans all make mistakes; as I stated, I understood how busy they were on this evening (I noticed it was a little busy when I picked up my food) This isn't the first time I've experienced missing food at this location (never was made to feel like I did something wrong when I reached out to the staff; the management during those moments always replaced the missing items; very professional). It is noteworthy to note, I've worked in the fast food industry and when presented with a mistake from a customer, I wanted nothing more than to get it right so the customer can feel appreciated and continue to patron the establishment. With that being said, the position of the GM is well trained in customer service and should handle such events professionally. read more

Food taste and quantity is very good. However, the curbside pick up process needs serious improvement at the Brier Creek location. First the designated sports are off a very busy street and intersection making exiting the location extremely hard. Those spots should be changed. But biggest gripe is you select curbside pickup when you order, select a time, give you car color, make, and model and when you arrive NOTHING happens!! No instructions on website or at the restaurant to call when you arrive. I finally called and talked to a totally incompetent person who I finally convince to bring my order out. A different person did bring the order out and I expressed my complaints about the curbside process. He agreed but not holding my breath it will improve. read more

This is my second day in a row. I almost never do that. Dark meat order both times. I wanted to try the steak but it all comes in a heap. I like the sides as sides. Very friendly staff. The line moves easy. The chi cha is weak compared to Golden Corral. The salad was very fresh. In fact, shockingly fresh. Fresh enough for a " nice place." The vinaigrette dressing fresh and delightful Now for the -1 off star. I watched the server dump fresh fries on top of totally old greasy soggy fries. That means for the orders in front of mine not eatable. That should have been thrown out. That is a management training issue and needs to be addressed. If I had those fries on my first visit I would not return. With the $12 lunch becoming the norm all needs to be fresh. read more
