When I got to the spa, an appointment had been booked for me in a hydrotherapy pool, instead of the massage chair I wanted. They were able to move me to the massage chair, but it was not a relaxing experience. The rollers on the chair Made me uncomfortable, and the person working with me, was not able to help me adjust it to make it much better. I definitely would not recommend the massage chair! read more

I have had two wonderful stays in Keystone Lodge and Spa last winter. I work for Vail so we get a bit of a discount here, but the room rate is usually fairly reasonable and the location really is hard to beat. Although it's not downtown River Run, you have a great bus system and it's a bit private and nicer. The Lodge itself has a long hallway construction, with five levels. Make sure you ask for a higher floor, otherwise you'll be a bit below the hillside. Not a big deal but I really do love the higher levels. You can see the mountains from nearly all the rooms as all the hallways face the road. Staff was always super nice and helpful with things such as a double charge. They greet and make good small talk and make you feel welcome. Right to the inner left of the lobby, there's a beautiful patio overlooking the Ice Ski g Pond. That's a big draw and a great place to go any time of day. I loved a hot chocolate after dark on a cold January night, with the ski slope behind you and a warm gas fire. Rooms are a bit dated, but not as bad as they could be. There's a nice door leading out to a patio on most levels, and the beds are large and clean. Televisions were very nice. We loved to go I've skating minutes from our room. I didn't have a chance to explore the restaurant below but I sure want to! We ate in River Run and just brought food back on the shuttle. There's $10 valet parking or a free lot across the street, accessible by an underground tunnel. read more

Massage was ok. I had my crucifix necklace that I have worn for over 20 years in my robe since I know they don't want you not to wear any jewelry during the massage. I forgot about the necklace in the robe & accidentally left it in the robe. When I realized I had left it I called them & no answer "go figure" so I left a message. They called me back & left a voicemail basically saying tough shit, it's with the laundry people now. I would think if you pay $100 for a 25 minute massage the least they would do is check the pockets of the robes before they send it out for the laundry. Besides the initial message, that was the only follow up I received from them. Lesson learned, won't remove my next necklace in the future massage & certainly will not return there. read more

Enjoyed a lovely winter day at the Keystone Spa. I paid for the Bliss Package, having a massage with Ann and a facial with Misty. I wanted deep tissue and aromatherapy focused on my shoulders and lower back. This type of massage isn't exactly about full relaxation, but rather body work to get stress out and release toxins. Mission accomplished. Ann released lots of tension in my shoulder blades and in my lower back and hips. I haven't felt this loose in years. But the real gift was the facial. Misty is a master. I have never had such painless extractions before in my life. She also really focused on my unique skin during the procedure. My skin looked dewy and fresh. I've had facials before, but I may be sold on monthly facials from this experience alone. After my services, I was given water, lemongrass towel, and a blood orange sorbet. After which, I enjoyed the steam room, jacuzzi, and outdoor pool. Nothing like swimming in an outdoor heated pool with snow all around and the beautiful winter sun. All in all a gorgeous day with the girls. read more

I've been staying here for about 3 hours- so far, not great. Firstly- the check in process is insane. The parking lot is across the highway. There's a tunnel between that highway and the hotel- however there are stairs down and stairs up so it's impossible to roll your luggage over on a cart. We checked in with quite a bit of luggage and there was no way to really accommodate that- which was the first hurdle. There's one bank of elevators for the entire hotel, so it's a good 5 minute walk and equally long wait to get an elevator down. When you call the front desk, nobody answers because there aren't even enough front desk staff to handle the check ins. So yeah, so far wouldn't recommend it. Ok- 3 days in. The lodge offers a shuttle to the lift. Which is super nice. However, you have to go down to the lobby to get added to the list (which In Our experience was about a 20 minute wait every time). We tried to call down to get in the list- no dice. So we had to walk down to the lobby and then stand outside for like 20 minutes every time. Not the best system. The staff at this hotel is severely lacking in managing and communicating logistics. Overall, not sure it's worth it and we probably won't stay here again. read more

Exceptional care, service concern for their guests from entry to the airport shuttle. Attention to detail, accommodations clean, stocked, appropriate and for those w issues on temperature- open the door its 3* at night. This was a vacation unplanned and i was pleasantly surprised by the front desk, valet, bar service staff, salon staff and how clean this facility was. They have hot tubs, steam room, sauna, a machine that wrings our upper wet bathing suit. A must try. OS a complimentary shuttle to the surrounding lodge amenities. read more

THE HOTEL - This hotel is not the one that is ski-in-ski-out but it is right down the street from the slopes and transportation to the base of the mountain is no problem (see later remarks on transportation). Hotel has all of the usual amenities with a bar/restaurant, spa, business center and more. Be aware that here is an extra charge for the early checkin ($45 I believe) but they will hold your bags at no charge. Hotel staff that I spoke to were all very kind and helpful!! Note- if you're looking for a scenic drive into Keystone, come up I70 and get off at the Loveland Pass exit! Twists and turns through the mountain so not for the faint of stomach but what a GORGEOUS drive. At Christmas time, 2016 at least, there was an exquisite Chocolate display!! An entire town made of ONLY chocolate. Sure to be a hit for both the young and old. THE ROOM - I stayed in a single king. Room size was plentiful. It's strange, but totally works, that you check in on the 5th floor (I believe) but all of the rooms are below that main floor. (Spa on 1...my room was on 3). Elevators were fast, easily accessible, and open/waiting for you on 5! Bathroom was plenty large. Microwave and mini-fridge in room. Tv, desk, armoire for hanging, etc. - all the norm! The bed...WAS AMAZING!!! I should have peeled back the sheets to see what it was or what kind of topper it had but I was FANTASTIC!! (I may call and ask!!). Plenty of accessible plugs for re-charging. No noise issues. Light-blocking blinds. There was a balcony that I didn't use. Not sure if I had a door to go out to the balcony but the view of the snow-covered mountains was picturesque!!! TRANSPORTATION - Hotel provides a shuttle at no cost (I recommend a tip for the driver!!) that covers the Keystone properties but there is also a local bus that is no cost (tips!!) that will take you to the slopes or restaurants/bars too! Great drivers and everyone is friendly. If you are parking at the hotel, valet is complimentary and they will even scrape the snow off of your car as needed. One bellman in particular, Luke, was extra helpful!! There is also free parking across the street for both hotel guests and visitors to Keystone. AMENITIES - I wasn't at the hotel for long BUT I did hit the hot tub for a few when I arrived. One CON...the hot tub, pool and all of the spa area closes at 10pm promptly. The pool & hot tub is accessible from the 1st floor between rooms 110 and 110 but due to the fact that it's through the spa, the hours are indeed limited!!! I was bummed by the 10pm closure. There are plenty of towels when you walk into the spa, for pool/hot tub use and I do recommend grabbing your robe from your room. They didn't seem to mind booze by the pool but it's byob. The pool is indoor/outdoor with a partition in between for easy access! (Oh. And the kids love this too!!). There's breakfast on-site but not complimentary. I did not check out the bar, spa services, business center, or the ice skating which appeared to be right behind the hotel. AROUND TOWN - I didn't explore much but I did hear there's is a Karaoke bar called Dos Locos and 2 other live music spots all near each other that the Keystone bus would take you to. If you're skiing, be sure to book your lift ticket and rental online BEFORE arriving to the Ski Resort - rentskis.com is the rental spot (I DO recommend a helmet) and Keystone Resort main site for lift ticket which is all run through the Epic pass - parent company is Vail (https://www.keystoneresort.com/plan-your-trip/lift-access/tickets). Note that it is hard to decipher but there ARE partial day discounts when you hop on the slopes after noon. You may have to book the full day and the ask for the adjustment at the window when you "check in" at the base of the mountain. OVERALL - Great spot! Great price. Great room. Just wish the hot tub could be open longer!! read more

I had an amazing day at the Keystone Spa! I got the pedicure and upgraded my service with 3 add-on specials they had going on during my visit. All well worth it! The relaxation room is beautifully decorated with comfortable chairs, blankets, and a fireplace. There was water, snacks, and magazines galore. I got there about an hour early to enjoy the amenities knowing I had to leave relatively soon after my appointment to catch a flight home. I forget my nail technician's name, Riva maybe, but she was fabulous! She was meticulous and personable and my pedi has lasted over 2 weeks now. The hot tub, heated pool, and steam room are all wonderful as well! The bathroom is stocked with everything from shampoo and conditioner to razors and even a hair straightener. Also, it's worth noting that you can order alcoholic beverages and lunch from the spa. Having a glass of champagne (or two) while relaxing was blissful and sent the experience over the top. We ski A LOT and typically the spas I've been to at other ski resorts are underwhelming to say the least, but this experience was 5 starts and I cannot wait to go back! read more

I had a great experience at the spa. It was kind of a maze to get there, but after I found it I was more than pleased! The relaxation room was great! My visit to the Keystone Spa was what I had hoped for and more! My friend and I were welcomed graciously and given a quick tour before meeting our two therapists. I had booked the Blue River Mud Wrap and my friend had scheduled a deep tissue massage. My treatment was targeted at my dry skin condition and my therapist, Alhandra, began with an invigorating salt scrub followed by a very relaxing shower that moved over me while I lay on warm towels. This was followed by a soothing cream that did not leave me feeling greasy. I cannot believe I have lived here in the mountains for so long and not tried this treatment. My friend also thought her therapist gave her one of the best deep tissue massages she had ever had. Afterwards we relaxed in front of a warming fireplace in the relaxation room and sipped on our Mimosas. What a great way to spend time with a dear friend! read more

So relaxing. All the staff were lovely! I loved my body wrap treatment! It was calming and the steam in the room was the perfect treatment for my stuffed up nose. The relaxation room is very nice and cozy and has complementary tea and pretzels. The front desk was friendly and helpful, they gave me a tour of the spa and directed to me to the very serene relaxation room complete with cucumber water, herbal teas and light snacks. Laurel was my massage therapist and she was awesome! Ask for her when you book. Amy did my facial and she was wonderful as well. I was very pleased with both treatments.
