I had a huge chip in my windshield and decided to go with my old stand by, Safelite. The price they quoted was pretty high. I talked with Eric at Alpha Auto Glass because I wanted to go local. His price was over a hundred dollars less than Safelite and they replaced the glass in around 25 minutes. I've been doing this a long time and that is really fast. I haven't had any problems whatsoever. And as a bonus, my Rain Sense never worked before and it works now. These people are the best and please tip generously. read more

A nick from a year ago in my 2004 Camry's windshield spread into a horizontal line last week across the length of the glass. The negative 18 degree temperatures? No garage overnights for my car. I anticipated a costly replacement and a two or three day wait time, largely due to ordering the part. Maybe, given the age of my car, an even greater delay while the few existing windshields specifically for my model were hunted down. And, given my complete lack of knowledge of windshield replacements, I anticipated a thousand dollar bill for parts and labor. I was impressed when Alexandra and Erik took me in back and I saw the five floor-to-ceiling stacks of long rows of many glass parts they've stocked. I thought I was one of the lucky beneficiaries of their foresight and dollars invested in a large inventory. The wait was under an hour. The bill was less than $200. And the time went by even more quickly because both Alex and Erik were easy...enjoyable to talk to. The whole experience was a 180 degrees opposite of the repairs offered at many dealer maintenance shops. Had to be much, much cheaper. read more
