I have been suffering from a myriad of back problems and have been shopping around for chiropractors and massage therapists. After having an awful experience a few weeks ago, I took my time to search for a good deep tissue massage therapist and carefully read the reviews. I came across Daniel and saw that everyone that has gone to him has been very pleased. It is super easy to book an appointment and initially I was a bit bummed that I had to wait over a week for an appointment but they have this super cool feature that alerts you when an opening comes available sooner so as soon as I got a notification for an earlier appointment, I grabbed it right away! I went to him two days after I had gone to a chiropractor and I was still suffering from some pain in my lower back/hip area. I was able to book the massage for one targeted area so I chose my lower back and I was able to put a description of what I was going through. When I arrived , he asked me to go a bit more in detail about what type of lower back pain I was having and how it started. Giving him a little bit of background on the pain starting point gave him a good basis of how to approach it. He definitely uses a lot of pressure, and did a great job at working out all of the tension that I had in my muscles. I would warn that if you go for a deep tissue massage, maybe have someone else drive you and have lots of ice cold water in the car to drink afterwards. Many times after a proper deep tissue massage all of those toxins release into your body and can make you feel sick. When he was done, I was very dizzy and nauseous. He did give me a cold water so I took that and sat in my car for a few minutes but did throw up when I got home and had to drink a lot of water to finish flushing all those toxins from my body. I would say he got out the majority of the stress knots that I had in my back but I will definitely schedule a few more visits to get my body the way it needs to be. The first few days after the massage I was pretty sore, but my body is feeling so much better and I can feel much more mobility in my lower back and hips without popping. This is astonishing as he is often booked and I just can't believe that his regulars are not raving about him. It's probably their best-kept secret. I went to DFMassage about 6-7 months ago for a series of therapeutic massages and there is one word that would describe it- Holistic. When seeing DFMassage my major complaint was pain and an injury that involved residual bruising along with limited range of motion in one extremity. He was intuitive, gentle, and made every effort to ensure I was comfortable. As I continued to see him he progressively increased the pressure applied and I can say after several visits I am 99.8% like new. Needless to say, my doctor was impressed. I have referred many and even certificate gifted a few close friends to this provider. He is consistent, timely, has many tricks up his sleeve for various issues, often works along side physical therapists, and overall - I would say do not pick your providers by their gender rather their talent. He was very knowledgeable and extremely professional. If you have any hesitations with a male masseur then I would like to take this time and say, QUIT IT.
