I brought in a 20-year-old Sony digital audio tape recorder that I thought would never play another tape ever again. He recognized the problem minutes after I dropped off the unit. My repair was unique, and I had the luxury of time for the repair to be done just right. Hany would call and provide an update of the progress (waiting for parts to be shipped in). Once it was ready, Hany showed me exactly what he did, and even taught me a few handy methods of maintenance to keep the unit in perfect running shape for years to come. We spoke a while about vintage electronics from the 1970s and 1980s such as VCRs, record album turntables, analog cassette decks, even reel-to-reel decks, all of which I have that could use refreshing and repairing, and he seemed excited to dive in and look at them someday. His prices are affordable and reasonable enough that I will be bringing in my vintage electronics in the near future for him to bring back to life. Sometimes his accent affects his English-speaking, but if you can be patient in listening, he is very accommodating and patient in repeating himself so that you can understand him. We nearly sent our malfunctioning 35 y/o Akai stereo receiver to the recyclers, frustrated after two wasted trips to a reputable, top-shelf audio electronics retail/repair store in Seattle, whose techs could find 'nothing wrong' (even after allegedly 'running' it for 48 hours each time!). However, it was a higher-end receiver (in its time) and had provided us many years of listening pleasure; besides, we really dislike adding to our planet's overburdened 'waste stream'. I took a vintage Kentwood receiver to have estimate on some issues it was having. Hany explained his process and after diagnosing problem gave me choices of options. He ordered the necessary parts to bring it back to its original operating condition. I was extremely happy with the results on return. I was adding a turn table to the unit and was experiencing problems with the operation. Hany had me bring the receiver and turn table in. My Oppo Bdp-205 blue ray player wouldn't power up so I took it into Handy for repair. Handy said he would troubleshoot and call with findings in 24/48 hours. Handy called a day and a half later and informed me that a board related to the power supply would need to be replaced, he found one in Japan, I authorized repairs and expedited parts. Handy completed repair in the time frame and and estimate he provided. My Oppo is working great.
