Subsequently, we found our she had fairly advanced terminal cancer. The level of care and kindness shown by the entire staff (thanks, Kelly, Nedra, Michael) really touched our hearts. It's not the fanciest place I've seen, but the kindness, love and level of care mean that your loved one will be well taken care of. Our mom ended up in hospice, and eventually passed away in January, 2020. Throughout her suffering and our grief, the staff was kind, supportive and always helpful. They took most excellent care of her, both physically and emotionally. Thanks to all of you.

Because they stated the doctor "left for vacation to Mexico," they could not provide me her medications, a list of her medications, and none of her prescriptions had been called into the pharmacy. Further, they did not have a cheap aluminum walker to send her home with. Because the head nurse had expressed she was confident she would be kept on after appeal, she left me scrambling to fly from out of state the following day after rejection. This all took place on a FRIDAY evening, with no options but to go the weekend without meds or a walker. I managed to arrive the following day, but the couldn't handle a basic discharge that is part of what they do every single day as a business. They SHOULD have kept my mother over the weekend at no charge to her to make up for their MAJOR blunder (instead they estimated about $500 per night out of pocket). When I found my mother waiting for me, they had a quarantine sign on her door but my mother wasn't sick. The nurse told me the sign had to do with her roommate who had left a couple days prior, so my other said she was not even being attended to. I would NOT recommend this facility if you're looking for a place your loved one will be treated like an actual human being, worthy of respect, and who will help with any sort of transition after discharge.

So, after at least 3 phone calls, the date for my first appointment was mixed up and I missed it. Finally, I get an appointment and there is no one in their office to take my insurance info. Why I even bothered after this point is beyond me! 1st appointment for an evaluation was fine. I thought maybe I had misjudged the place. 2nd appointment was unsatisfactory. The PT told me that they were terribly understaffed and she looked like she was ready to cry. After that visit, I decided to go to the trouble (and the new wait time) of getting a new referral for a different rehab place. So now, a month later, I get a bill for "services" totaling over $400. Services? For what? I would suggest you find a different PT office, if you are looking for help. Summit on 19th Ave, Silver Lake area may have been a great office 6 months ago but in my experience, it was a huge waste of time. I WILL be disputing this bill!!

Let me start first by saying I was very pleased with my appt with their MLD therapist - Maggie…read more Maggie was great. So kind and helpful and VERY thoughtful of my specific medical situation. She was also very knowledgeable, which helps because I have Lipedema (NOT Lymphedema) and many don't know much about Lipedema but she does. BUT their problem at the Snohomish location is the front desk person, Tori. She is incredibly RUDE. First of all, my first appt last week, I walked in, smiled, greeted Tori and said who I was there to see. She frowned, had a grouchy tone of voice, handed me a TON of paperwork to fill out, which I did, and when I was done, told me that Maggie would come get me. Now first of all, besides Tori - please people ... SEND THIS STUFF TO PATIENTS IN EMAIL! For heaven's sake. I have essential tremors so writing is difficult. My husband was with me and had to help me fill all of this out, which included medical history, list of meds, etc. It took me about 20 minutes to fill all this out, which put me at 5 minutes PAST my appt time. :-( Maggie came to get me and things were great them. But then Tori handed me a list of my next 5 appointments when we were on our way out. OHHHH KAYYYY. NO ONE - AT ANY TIME - consulted with me to find out what would be good days and times to come in AND we had to get out of there because my husband had a work meeting to get to. When we got home, we set the list of appts down and forgot about them until Sunday. My bad. BUT ... they were ALL for Tuesdays in the early morning. We normally don't do Tuesday appts when my husband has to go with me because he has to go into the office on that day. He took this day at home for THIS appt. AND I have some medical things that make mornings my WORST time of day. I try to make all my appts after about 11:00 am, later if possible. I am in so much pain in the morning that getting going is insane. So on Sunday we faxed them to cancel all those appts, stating we will call to reschedule. So this morning (Monday) I called. Tori was SO RUDE! When I asked if she got the fax, she didn't even answer me. When I told her I need to delete the these appts and reschedule them, she RUDELY AND STERNLY said "ALL 5 OF THEM!!!" I said "Yes, all 5 of them. Also, Maggie only needs to see me for one or two more appts and then I'm done anyway." (This is because she teaches us how to do MLD at home on our own. This is common with this therapy. So then Tori asked me what time tomorrow I could reschedule for, I was looking at my calendar and finally told her 1:00 pm. THEN she tells me Maggie doesn't have ANYTHING until April 10th. REALLY??? NOW YOU TELL ME!!! How about "Maggie doesn't have anything until April 10th, so what would be your best days and times after that?" Tori has no business working the front desk of ANY business. She gives them a bad name. I have read other bad reviews from people who won't go back to this location BECAUSE OF HER. I won't either. I cancelled all my appts and I will go to another clinic, even though I have to drive twice as far to get there. I know I will be treated well there because I've been there before. I chose Summit because it was closer. But Tori was the straw that breaks the camels back. Summit should find someone else to work their front desk. She is the FACE of Summit in Snohomish and she makes them look VERY BAD.

We moved in on 9/1/24. Good choice! We are in our 90s with realistic expectations of what the future holds.We want to share in the joy of being alive daily in a. supportive community, kind people to interact with pleasant surroundings good food capable physical help and encouragement. 1/1/2025 and nothing has changed our opinion. I personally still have heath and the life choices still available to me are enhanced by the entertainment special occasions provided and help fill my time as my wife sleeps for extended periods.I suspect that if I would be left by myself-I would just call this home. The nurse would not respond to phone calls and when she did it was with rude and had a nasty attitude. They did manage to give my husband more sedation meds after the caregiver was gone so they could keep him from wondering. I say look into memory facilities closely but I would pass on Harbour Pointe . They were planning on evaluating him on the day he died now that's convenient. My Experience at Alderwood: A Journey from Frustration to Genuine Care…read more I recently stayed at Alderwood for rehab and was discharged not long ago. I want to share my honest experience -- the difficult parts, the turning point, and ultimately the reason I left with gratitude. During my first week, I was not thrilled with the care I received. I often felt overlooked. Some staff members -- not all -- seemed rushed, with little interaction or engagement. When I voiced concerns, I felt dismissed rather than heard. I repeatedly asked to speak with the person in charge of the nurses and aides, but she never came. I spoke with the social worker and the administrator, who reassured me they would address my concerns and send the nursing director. Still, she never appeared. My main concern at the time was how my legs were being wrapped. I wanted guidance, reassurance, and proper care. Then the inspectors arrived, and shortly after, I learned the director had been fired. This worried me even more -- if things weren't running well before, what would happen now? A few days later, a gentleman introduced himself as the nurse supervisor. At first, I didn't think much of it. He came in regularly, asking how I was doing and whether I had any issues with my care. I assumed he was just another staff member making rounds. But he kept coming back. He kept asking. And he genuinely listened. I even asked, is there a problem that's why you keep asking these questions? Slowly, I noticed a shift. The staff's attitude improved. They were more attentive, kinder, and more professional. I told him this directly -- that since he started checking in, the entire atmosphere felt different. He told me, the staff here are wonderful. They may just be under pressure but thank you, I will surely let them know. A few days before my discharge, I received a new roommate who struggled with yelling and screaming at night. I understood she couldn't help it, but it made resting and healing extremely difficult. I reported my concerns to management, including to a nurse named Tee, who said she would inform her supervisor. Honestly, I didn't expect anything to happen. My hope was low. I told them not to do anything about it, not even a grievance. I really wanted to just leave then but I physically cant. To my surprise, shortly after reporting the issue, the same gentleman walked in -- and this time he introduced himself as the Director of Nursing. I jokingly gave him an earful for not telling me sooner. His response is something I will never forget. He said: "My actions should speak for themselves. I want my residents to remember me not by name or title, but by how I made them feel." I cried -- tears of relief and gratitude. He apologized for my experience and for the rough night. He offered solutions immediately and even brought me earplugs. When I told him I was worried I wouldn't hear my alarm, he promised that a staff member would wake me up at exactly 7:00 AM -- "like you're in a hotel," he said. And he delivered. All my earlier frustrations were overshadowed by the sincerity, consistency, and compassion shown by the new Director of Nursing. His leadership changed the environment. The therapy team, nurses, and aides became more attentive, more present, and more caring. I left Alderwood feeling heard, supported, and respected. That is why I gave a 5‑star review -- not because everything was perfect from the start, but because the right person stepped in, listened, and transformed my experience. To Umesh social worker, the therapy team, nurses, and aides: thank you. To the Director of Nursing, Joe-mar your actions truly spoke louder than any title ever could. Now that I'm back to working, I've been sharing my experience at Alderwood -- not just the challenges I faced at the beginning, but the incredible turnaround that happened because of the people who truly care.
