I have been a member of this gym for about a little over 6 months, so here is my honest review…read more I since I joined Equinox, I have been working with a personal trainer, Diana, who is amazing and is helping me reach my fitness goals. Prior to joining this gym I had gained about 20lbs from life... Diana is throughly helping me with my weight loss journey. I have never felt better in my body as I do now. I am stronger and the food noise has diminished. Not only has she coached on weightlifting/ strength training but has also coached me on my diet. Lastly, I look forward to every session I have booked with Diana, she makes a special tailored program for my needs / goals and is flexible / adaptable with scheduling. Front Desk/ locker room I am always greeted with a smile from the front desk personnel. The bathroom / locker room is always tidy. The bonus for me is that they provide parking validation for the parking structure. I am always able to find a parking spot get in and out without a hiccup. The one critique I have for Equinox is that I wish they were open a little later on the weekend.

Joining Equinox and getting support from my terrific trainers (first Talar, and now Hank) really changed my experience of fitness, my body, and my life. I am now a personal trainer evangelist, and have convinced my partner and others to get training. As for this facility, I find it to be convenient, clean, and very rarely crowded. I almost never have to wait on any particular equipment. The few classes I have taken here (mostly yoga) have been a nice change of pace as well. And, as I mentioned, the training has been a game changer. It's not cheap, but I think the quality of the facilities and service is excellent (and I'm fortunate to get a discount through my work!).

He is extremely charismatic, says he's not a trainer, but he's very knowledgeable and took the time to explain which machines target which muscles. Better than every gym I've been too. Most of the time it's ok, however some machines they clearly need more of. For example, the row machine (they have only one of) and pec fly machine (they have two). These you can almost guarantee that there will be a line. Cables. Lines are manageable but there is a bigger issue. Half the time there are literally no attachments. At times there will be say two triceps ropes and a single bar between the 6 cables to share. So, not only not enough variety of attachments (which is also true), but at times literally not enough to even have any kind of attachment on all the cables. I don't know if people take them to the private training area (which is not accessible to normies) or whatever they do with it, but it's very common at this gym and a deal breaker issue, I'd say. Sauna - insanely nasty. Horrible. Feels very unsanitary. I used it twice and both times my freshly washed towel, that I used there to sit on, caught this horrible stink of probably hundreds of peoples' sweats soaked in the wood of the sauna benches. I would've probably caught hepatitis A through Z had I not used the towel (half-joking). Still on the subject of sauna - not necessarily exclusive to this gym, but most people don't know sauna etiquette. They go in, wearing their sweaty shoes and clothes and do freaking sit ups and other crap in there, resulting in all of us sitting in heat and breathing in their stinky body and unwashed sweaty clothes evaporates. To those people, learn some manners and look up sauna etiquette before using it next time, that is nasty and you are just being an a**hole, with all due respect. That is not good for you or anyone around you. To the gym management - maybe print out sauna etiquettes and post them in a few places where sauna users can see? Have rules of use, just like you do for everything else? Overall, not ideal, but compared to some other gyms within walking distance it is at least usable.

My two oldest children, who were around nine and six at the time, started dropping in to BBC while I participated in other classes at the Y. Coach Steve would invite me in and I would politely decline, opting for Zumba or spinning instead. I had already decided that I wasn't coordinated for boxing and didn't want to look silly (because I looked awesome doing Zumba? Ha!). Eventually I got bored with my usual routine and decided to step outside of my comfort zone. I joined my kids and confirmed that I was, in fact, completely uncoordinated, awkward and clumsy. However, Coaches Steve and Maya are welcoming, supportive and motivating so I really didn't feel as silly as I expected to. The class starts with a good group stretch then a warm up which could be anything as members take turns leading the warm up. Next up is shadowboxing followed by jump roping before Coach selects two members to do a demonstration in the ring (sorry, no sparring at present). Afterwards, we glove up to hit heavy bags, speed bags, Bob or pair up with a partner and some focus mits. Then we grab a mat and do abs as a group before finishing off with another stretch. It's a great two hour workout at any level. The club is comprised of all levels of skill and everyone is willing to help with form and answer any questions. Keep coming and you will start to feel like family. I know I have and even though I'm not always consistent, it feels like I'm home again when I return. This is one of the best (if not the best) programs at the YMCA!

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Since I booked through ClassPass, I just had to show my ID and sign in. I was directed to where the women's locker room was as well as where the class would take place. Since I was there early, I sat in the sauna for a bit to warm my body. It was very clean and the perfect temperature. The studio itself was fantastic and the aerial silks were placed just the right distance for us to swing. The teacher was amazing and was great at giving instruction and coming around to help us get into each pose and ensure we were doing them properly. I felt really stretched out after and left feeling like I got a great workout! I am so glad to see a gym offer aerial classes and cannot wait to return again!

Most of the front desk guys ignore me during front check in and only seem to acknowledge people they want to flirt with and get super loud with their male customers. Super uncomfortable environment as a woman. I'm planning to finish out my membership and switch to Equinox. They are opening one in Burbank in June 2026. I'm paying way too much for limited equipment access and an environment that feels like a men's jock locker room.
